The on-screen menu opens. 3Press W or X to highlight SETUP, then press T or ENTER. The SETUP menu opens. 4Press S or T to highlight CEC, then press ENTER. The SETUP · CEC menu opens. 5Make sure that the CEC Control option is turned on. See “Turning CEC Control on or off” on page43. 6On the SETUP · CEC menu, press S or T to highlight Connect, then press ENTER. A list of HDMI CEC-compatible devices you have connected opens. 7Press S or T to highlight the HDMI CEC-compatible device you want to connect to, then press ENTER. 8Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Opening a CEC-compatible device’s root menu You can open a CEC-compatible device’s root menu, then use your T V’s remote control to control the device, if the device has this feature. 1Press INPUT, press S or T to highlight an HDMI input, then press ENTER. 2Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. 3Press W or X to highlight SETUP, then press T or ENTER. The SETUP menu opens. 4Press S or T to highlight CEC, then press ENTER. The SETUP · CEC menu opens. 5Make sure that the CEC Control option is turned on. See “Turning CEC Control on or off” on page43. 6On the SETUP · CEC menu, press S or T to highlight Root Menu, then press ENTER. The device’s root menu opens, and you can use your TV’s remote control to control the device. 7Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu.

Switching to USB mode 1Make sure that you have connected the USB flash drive to the USB port on your TV. 2If your TV is turned on when you connect the USB flash drive, press S or T to highlight Ye s in the message that appears, then press ENTER. The PHOTOS menu opens. OR If you connected the USB flash drive, then changed to a different video input source, press INPUT to open the INPUT SOURCE list, press S or T to highlight USB (Photos), then press ENTER. The PHOTOS menu opens. Browsing photos 1Switch to USB mode. See “Switching to USB mode” on page47. The PHOTOS menu opens.2Press S or T to highlight Browse Photos, then press ENTER. The screen displays folder names and photo files stored on the USB flash drive in a thumbnail index with the first photo or folder highlighted. A control bar appears at the bottom of the screen. 3To navigate the thumbnail index screen, press: • S T W or X to browse through the files and folders. •ENTER to view a highlighted photo full-screen or open a highlighted folder. •MENU to open the PHOTOS menu. •FAV O R I T E to add or remove a photo from the favorite photo list. A heart appears on a photo that has been added to the favorite photo list. When a photo is displayed full-screen, a control bar appears at the bottom of the photo. The file name, picture resolution, size, and date are displayed on the bottom of the control bar. If you do not press a button within 10 seconds, the control bar closes. Press INFO* to open the control bar again. 4To navigate on the photo screen, press: • W to go to the previous photo. • X to go to the next photo. •ENTER to rotate the photo clockwise. •VIEW MODE one or more times to enlarge the image by ×2 or ×4 or to select Fill (to fill the screen). You can press S T W or X to pan the photo. •EXIT to return to the thumbnail index. •MENU to return to the PHOTOS menu. Notes • Never remove the USB flash drive or turn off your TV while viewing JPEG pictures. • The JPEG picture viewer only supports JPEG format images (with “.jpg” file extensions) and not all JPEG files are compatible with your TV. Note To exit USB mode, press INPUT to open the INPUT SOURCE list, then select another input source. Note Photos are shown in the order they appear on the USB flash drive. They may not be listed in file name order.

See “Switching to USB mode” on page47. The PHOTOS menu opens. 2Press S or T to highlight Favorite Photos, then press ENTER. A thumbnail index of your favorite photos opens with a control bar at the bottom of the screen. A heart appears on a favorite photo. You select photos and navigate on the photo screen in the same way you do when you are browsing through photos. For more information, see “Browsing photos” on page47. Viewing photos in a slideshow You can view your photos in a slideshow. 1Switch to USB mode. See “Switching to USB mode” on page47. The PHOTOS menu opens. 2If the photos you want to view are in a folder on the USB flash drive, select the folder. For information about selecting a folder, see “Browsing photos” on page47 or “Viewing favorite photos” on page48. 3Press MENU. The PHOTOS menu opens again. 4Press S or T to highlight View Slideshow, then press ENTER. A slideshow starts with the first photo in the current folder. 5To control the slideshow, press: •ENTER, X (play), or (pause) to pause or start the slideshow. •EXIT or (stop) to exit the slideshow and go to the thumbnail index. •MENU to go to the PHOTOS menu. Note Photos are shown in the order they appear on the USB flash drive. They may not be listed in file name order.

See “Switching to USB mode” on page47. The PHOTOS menu opens. 2Press S or T to highlight Photo Settings, then press ENTER. The PHOTOS · PHOTOS SET TINGS menu opens. 3Press S or T to highlight an option, then press ENTER. You can select: •Slideshow Repeat—Repeats the slideshow when it reaches the end. You can select On or Off. •Slideshow Shuffle—Displays the slideshow photos in random order. You can select On or Off. •Slideshow Interval—Sets the amount of time a photo is displayed before the slideshow moves to the next photo. You can select 4sec, 6sec, or 8sec. •Slideshow Effect—Selects the way photos transition when moving to the next file in the slideshow. You can select: •None—No transition effect. •Fad e to Blac k—Fades the screen to black between photos. •Ver tic al Wip e—Wipes the screen from top to bottom between photos. •Horizontal Wipe—Wipes the screen from left to right between photos. •Random—Randomly selects a transition effect. 4Press S or T to select a setting, then press ENTER. 5Press EXIT to close the menu. Adjusting the picture Adjusting the TV picture You can adjust various settings to improve the quality of the TV picture. Also, you can reset all picture settings to the factory default. 1Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens with the PICTURE menu displayed. 2Press T or ENTER to access the menu. 3Press S or T to highlight an option, then press ENTER to access the option. You can select: •AV M o d e—Selects the picture mode. You can select: •Dynamic—(a bright and vivid picture). Significantly increases the contrast, brightness, and sharpness. This selection is good for video games, animation, and in bright light environments. •Natural—(a standard picture). Moderately increases the contrast, brightness, and sharpness. This selection is good for standard TV broadcasts. •Standard—(the backlight brightness is decreased). Your TV has a backlight that provides light for displaying a picture. By reducing the amount of light, your TV uses less energy. •Movie—(a finely detailed picture). Adjusts the brightness and contrast and lowers the sharpness for a more realistic picture. This selection is good for watching the highest quality video such as Blu-ray Discs, DVDs, and HDTV. •Game—Adjusts the picture for the ultimate gaming experience. This option is available when the video input source is set the HDMI, Component, AV, or VGA. •User—(customized picture). Lets you manually adjust picture settings such as brightness, contrast, and sharpness. •Backlight—Sets the overall brilliance of the screen. •Brightness—Adjusts the brightness of the dark areas of the picture. Note You can also press AV M O D E to select the picture mode.

A low setting may make the color look faded. A high setting may make the color look artificial. •Tint—Adjusts the color balance of the picture. Use this control to make skin tones look more natural. •Sharpness—Adjusts the color detail of images. If you set this control too high, dark images may appear with light or white edges. •Advanced Settings—Opens the PICTURE · ADVANCED SETTINGS menu where you can adjust additional video options. •View Mode—Adjusts how the picture fills the screen (aspect ratio). You can select:•Overscan—Extends text and images past the screen edges to hide edge artifacts. You can select On or Off. •Active Backlight—Enhances the contrast ratio between light and dark areas of the picture. You can select On or Off. •Motion Enhancement—Reduces motion blur and eliminates film judder with clear detail and smooth motion. You can select Off, On(Low), On(High), or Film Mode. •Color Temperature—Selects the color temperature. You can select Cool (to enhance the blues), Normal, or Warm (to enhance the reds). •Noise Reduction—Selects the noise reduction mode to reduce picture noise (snow). You can select Off, Low, Middle, or High. •Active Contrast—Automatically adjusts picture detail and brightness. You can select On or Off. •Reset Picture Settings—Resets all picture settings to factory mode. 4Press W or X to adjust the option, or press S or T to select a setting. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Aspect ratio optionsExample Normal: Displays the image in the original aspect ratio. Black bars appear if the image is not in the widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio. Zoom: Expands the image to fill the screen. The top and bottom of the image may be cropped. Wide: Use this option to view content recorded in a 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio. Cinema: Stretches the image at the edges, but keeps a clear image in the center. Auto: Automatically adjusts the image based on the screen size and the TV program. Note: Auto is only available when Auto View Mode in the CHANNELS menu is set to On. Note You can also press VIEW MODE to select the aspect ratio.

The on-screen menu opens. 2Press W or X to highlight CHANNELS, then press T or ENTER. The CHANNELS menu opens. 3Press S or T to highlight Auto View Mode, then press ENTER. 4Press S or T to select On (automatically adjust the aspect ratio) or Off (does not automatically adjust the aspect ratio), then press ENTER. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Setting the power on picture mode You can set the picture mode your TV uses when you turn it on. 1Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. 2Press W or X to highlight SETUP, then press T or ENTER. The SETUP menu opens. 3Press S or T to highlight Reset All, then press ENTER. The SETUP · RESET ALL menu opens. 4Press S or T to highlight Power on in Dynamic Mode, then press ENTER. 5Press S or T to highlight On (when you turn on your T V, it will be in Dynamic picture mode) or Off (when you turn on your TV, it will be in the picture mode it was in before you turned it off ), then press ENTER. 6Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Note You can also press VIEW MODE to select the aspect ratio.

The on-screen menu opens. 3Press W or X to highlight SETUP, then press ENTER. The SETUP menu opens. 4Press S or T to highlight PC, then press ENTER. The SETUP · PC menu opens. 5Press S or T to highlight an option, then press ENTER to access the option. You can select: •Auto Adjust—Automatically adjusts the image settings such as position and phase. •H. Position—Moves the image right or left. •V. P o s i t i o n—Moves the image up or down. •Clock—Minimizes vertical stripes in the screen image. •Phase—Adjusts the focus of stable images. •Reset PC Settings—Resets all computer settings to factory mode. 6Press W or X to adjust the option, or press S or T to select a setting. 7Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Adjusting the sound Adjusting sound settings You can adjust sound settings to improve the sound quality. You also can reset all sound settings to the factory default. 1Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. 2Press W or X to highlight SOUND, then press T or ENTER. The SOUND menu opens. 3Press S or T to highlight an option, then press ENTER to access the option. You can select: •Sound Mode—Selects the sound mode. You can select: •Standard—Balances treble and bass. This setting is good for watching standard TV broadcasts. •Movie—Enhances treble and bass for a rich sound experience. This setting is good for watching DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and HDTV. •Music—Preserves the original sound. This setting is good for listening to music. •Voice—Enhances vocals for TV audio. This setting is good for watching news broadcasts. •User—Lets you manually adjust sound settings. •Balance—Adjusts the balance between the left and right audio channels. •Bass—Adjusts the low sounds. •Tre b l e—Adjusts the high sounds. •Speaker—Selects where to play TV audio. When you connect headphones to your TV, audio plays through both the headphones and the T V speakers. You can select: •Auto (default setting)—Automatically turns off the TV speakers when you connect a device to the /AUDIO OUT jack. When the device is disconnected, the TV speakers turn on automatically. •On—Always plays the audio through the TV speakers. If a device is connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack, the audio is played through both the TV speakers and the device. •Off—Turns off the TV speakers and plays the audio only through the device connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. If you disconnect the device, the TV speakers remain turned off. Note The PC option is only available when a computer is connected to the PC IN jack on the back of your TV.

You can select: •Audio Format— Selects how the digital audio is sent to the external audio system. Yo u c a n s e l e c t : •Dolby Digital—Outputs the original digital audio sound. •PCM—Outputs audio in 2-channel stereo. •Audio Delay—Fine tunes the audio when it is not in sync with the video. •Analog TV Sound—(Analog channels only) Selects the audio mode. You can select: •Mono—Select this option if there is noise or static on weak stereo broadcasts. •Stereo—Select this option for programs broadcast in stereo. •SAP—Select this option to listen to a secondary audio program, if available. •Audio Language—(Digital channels only) Selects an alternate audio language, if available. •Headphones/Audio Out—You can use the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your TV to connect headphones, a home theater system, or a sound bar. When a device is connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack, the TV speakers are muted. Yo u c a n s e l e c t : •Headphones/Audio Out Variable—Select this option to use the remote control that came with your TV to control the audio from the headphones, home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. •Audio Out Fixed—Select this option to use the remote control that came with the home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack to control the audio. This option is only available when a device is connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. •Reset Sound Settings—Reset all audio settings to factory defaults. 4Press W or X to adjust the option, or press S or T to select a setting. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Selecting the audio out mode If your TV is on when you connect a device to the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your TV, a screen opens where you select which audio out mode you want to use. 1Connect headphones, an amplifier, a home theater system, or a sound bar to the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your TV. The following screen opens. 2Press W or X to highlight the audio out mode you want to use, then press ENTER. You can select: •Headphones/Audio Out Variable—Select this option to use the remote control that came with your TV to control the audio from the headphones, home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. •Audio Out Fixed—Select this option to use the remote control that came with the home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack to control the audio. Note You can also press AUDIO one or more times to select the audio mode.

The on-screen menu opens. 2Press W or X to highlight CHANNELS, then press T or ENTER. The CHANNELS menu opens. 3Press S or T to highlight Audio Only, then press ENTER. 4Press S or T to select On. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Changing channel settings Automatically scanning for channels When you scan for channels, your TV searches for channels with signals and stores the channel information in the channel list. When you press CH or CH, your TV goes to the next or previous channel in the channel list. If the TV signal source changes, for example you change from an outdoor antenna to cable TV (no box), you need to scan for channels.1Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. 2Press W or X to highlight CHANNELS, then press T or ENTER. The CHANNELS menu opens. 3Press S or T to highlight Auto Channel Search, then press ENTER. The CHANNELS · AUTO CHANNEL SEARCH screen opens. 4Press S or T to highlight Antenna, Cable, or Satellite Box, then press ENTER. AIf you select Antenna, your TV scans for available channels. The scan may take several minutes. Notes • The picture turns off in about five seconds. •Audio Only works only when the input source is TV and your TV is receiving a broadcast signal. • To exit audio only mode, press any button. When you exit audio only mode, the Audio Only option is automatically reset to Off. Note You can press EXIT to stop the auto channel search, but you will need to run the auto channel search again to create a channel list.

Your TV scans for available channels. The scan may take several minutes. •Select Ye s, then press ENTER if a cable box is connected. A message asks how you connected the cable box to your TV. •Select HDMI, Component, or AV, then press ENTER if you connected a cable box to your TV using one of these cables. Read the message, then press ENTER to close the wizard. •Select Coaxial, then press ENTER if you connected a cable box to your TV using a coaxial cable. Read the message, then press ENTER to start the channel scan (VHF channels only).CIf you select Satellite Box, a message asks how you connected the satellite box to your TV: • Select HDMI, Component, or AV, then press ENTER if you connected a satellite box to your TV using one of these cables. Read the message, then press ENTER to close the wizard. • Select Coaxial, then press ENTER if you connected a satellite box to your TV using a coaxial cable. Read the message, then press ENTER to start the channel scan ( VHF channels only).
