PREPARATIONS 10 Operation panel [MODE SELECT] key / Mode indicators Press this key to select the mode. The indicator of the selected mode lights (copy, printer, scanner, fax mode indicators). If the power switch is turned off while the machine is in operation, a misfeed may occur and the job that was in progress will be cancelled. PREPARATIONS 14 Check original cover/RSPF open function When enabled, this function may help prevent wasteful use of toner that occurs when the original cover/RSPF cover is not completely closed. 16 LOADING THE PAPER TRAY 1Raise the handle of the paper tray and pull the paper tray out until it stops. 2Fan the paper and insert it into the tray. Make sure that the edges go under the corner hooks. 3Gently push the paper tray back into the machine. Make sure that the paper is not torn, is free of dust, and has no wrinkles or curled edges. 17 2 BYPASS FEED (including special paper) The bypass tray can be used to feed standard paper, transparency film, labels, envelopes, and other special purpose paper.
