    No Power
    - When all the LED indicators are not lighting,the symptom indicates that the primary power supply circuit
    does not operate properly. Check the power primary circuit and parts as follow;
    AC cord
    F601 (Fuse)
    Line filter board
    SW905 (Thermal sw.) ......short in normal
    SW905 opens when the surrounding temperature of the switch exceeds 90°C.
    SW902 (Interlock sw.) ......short in normal
    Check the lamp cover is fixed firmly. The projector cannot turn on with lamp cover removal.
    Overload or over-voltage of power circuit
    When the feedback circuit detects overload or over-voltage, check the PC602 and peripheral circuits.
    This projector provides a function which can be specified a defective area simply by indicating the LEDs on the con-
    trol panel. Connect the AC cord and press the Power button once and then check the LED indication.
    - When both of the TEMP WARNING (red) and READY (green) indicators are flashing at the same time,
    the symptom indicates that the projector detected an abnormality in the cooling fan operation or in the power
    supply secondary circuits. Check fan operation and power supply lines, and the driving signal status.
    Detected the abnormality on the secondary power supply lines.
    Power failure detection diodes detect abnormal voltage on the power supply circuits. 
    POWER_FAIL (Error:L) signals are sent to IC5801, IC5831, IC5861, IC5881 and each IC detect the power
    fail signal, the main CPU IC801 sets the projector into the standby mode and indicates error mode with the
    LEDs flashing.
    Check the shortage of secondary circuits, ICs, condensers, etc.
    Check power supply lines, 9VA and 15.7V on the Drive Board, and 3.3V, 5VD, 5VA, S5V, 9V, 15VP and
    15.5V on Main Board.
    Check detection diodes, D1653, D1604 on Drive Board. Check detection diodes on Main Board (refer to
    the block diagram of power supply systems).
    Detected the operation stop of cooling fans.
    Power failure detection diodes detect the fan operation stop. Check Fans FN901, FN902, FN903, FN904,
    FN905, FN906 and FN907.
    Check fans power supply lines and detection diodes and transistors D6610, D6614, D6616, D6617,
    D6618 and Q6609 on Sub Power Board and D7831, D7832, D7851, D7852, D7871, D7872, D7891 and
    D7892 on Main  Board.
    Abnormality on power starter signals (FAN_DRIVE/ FAN_SW).
    FAN_SW signal is output from pin 137 of IC801 and applied to power switching circuit through Q4807. It
    drives the power oscillation circuit in Power Board and power supply for the cooling fans in Sub Power
    Board.
    FAN_DRIVE/FAN_SW .............. High in power on
    Check FAN_DRIVE and FAN_SW signals, switching circuit Q6623, Q6624, Q6604, IC6602, IC6603 and
    peripheral circuit on Sub Power Board.
    Abnormality on fan drive signal (IC_RESET).
    IC_RESET signal is output from pin 2 of IC801 and sent to Q6616, Q6612 and Q6613 on Sub Power 
    Board. They switch power supply lines, 3.3V, 9V, 10VA, 15.7V, 15VP, 15.5V, 5VAV and 9VAV.
    IC_RESET ................................ High in power on
    Check IC_RESET signal, IC801 on Main Board, drive transistors and ICs Q6616, Q6617, Q6612, Q6611,
    Q6613, Q6614, IC6608, IC6618, IC6607 and peripheral circuits.
    ■Troubleshooting

    Reset switch
    The microprocessor inside the projector may occasionally
    malfunction and does not allow any controls. In this case,
    press the reset switch on the rear panel with a sharp tool to
    restart the projector.
    - When the WARNING TEMP indicator (red) is flashing,the symptom indicates that the projector detected an
    abnormal temperature risen inside the projector. Check the air filters and remove the object near the intake and
    exhaust fan openings, and wait until the WARNING TEMP indicator flashing stops, and then try to turn on the
    projector. 
    Temperature sensor ICs detect abnormal temperature. 
    Check peripheral circuits and sensor ICs IC1691 on Sensor1 Board, IC1871 and IC1872 on Main Board.
    - LAMP Circuit
    Abnormality on power drive signal (LAMP_SW).
    LAMP_SW signal is output from pin 138 of IC801 and sent to pin 4 of K8L on Main Board through IC4891,
    and to drive the Lamp Ballast Unit.
    LAMP_SW ..................................High in power on
    The lamp does not light
    LAMP_DET signal (Error: H) is sent from the lamp ballast board and input to pin 111 of IC801, and the
    CPU turns off the projector.  The cooling fans rotate at full speed for cooling down period and then the pro-
    jector goes to stand-by mode.

    Check composite video signal at pins 45 and 46 of K30R
    on AV Board and K10C on Main Board.
    Check Y, C signals at pins 15 and 14 of IC1141.
    Check Y, C signals at pins 5 and 7 of IC3101.
    S-Video Input
    Check S-video signals at pins 49-50 (Y), 53-54(C) of
    K30R and K10C.
    Check Y, C signals at pins 43 and 44 of IC3101.
    Component Input
    Check component signals at pins 41 (Pr), 42 (Pb) and 43
    (Y) of IC4101.
    Check component signals at pins 3-4 (Y), 7-8 (Pb) and
    11-12 (Pr) of K30R and K10C.
    Check component signals at pins 2 (Pb), 5 (Y) and 12
    (Pr) of IC4531.

    Check component signals (Y, Cb, Cr) at test points

    Troubleshooting
    No Sound
    1. No audio signals at AV input circuit.
    Check audio signals at pins 1, 12 (CG1), 5, 14 (CG2) and
    2, 15 (VIDEO) of IC5001 on AV Board. Check IC5001 and
    peripheral circuits.
    2.Incorrect operation of Input mode switching.
    Check AUDIO_SW1/AUDIO_SW2 switching signals at pins
    9 and 10 of IC5001. The AUDIO_SW1/AUDIO_SW2 sig-
    nals are output from pins 4 and 5 of IC1801. See the truth
    table below for input mode selection.
    3. No audio output signal at speakers.
    Check audio signals at pins 3, 4 and 1, 2 of K16S on M
    Drive Board. 
    Check MUTE signal at pin 8 of K16R/K8T. 
    The MUTE signal is output from pin 49 of IC1801.
    Mute On : High
    Check MUTE signal at pins 3 and 14 of IC1652.
    Check SP OFF signal at pin 9 of K16R/K8T. 
    The SP OFF signal is output from pin 8 of IC1801 and sent
    to pin 7 of IC1631/IC1632 through Q1681/Q1682.
    SP OFF signal from IC1801 : High
    Check SP OFF signal at pin 7 of IC1631/IC1632.
    SP OFF signal to IC1631/IC1632 : Low
    Check sound volume signal at pin 7 of K16R/K8T.
    The VOLUME signal is output from pin 8 of IC9405 and it
    is controlled by IC801 via the IIC bus.
    Volume Min.: Low
    Check audio signals at IC1651,IC1631, IC1632 and periph-
    eral circuits.
    4. No power supply at audio circuit.
    Check 9VA(9V AUDIO) power supply line.
