    How	to	Operate	the	OSD	(On	Screen	Display)

    2▲ / ▼ Select an icon with t\ohe ▲ or ▼ 
    button.

    sub-menu.

    the ▲ or ▼ button.

    In the Source, press the TOOLS button, and then y\oou can 
    set an external input sources name you want.

    Using the \fNFO butt\hon (Now & Next gui\h\be)
    The display identifie\os the current channel 
    and the status o\f ce\ortain audio-video 
    settin\bs.
    The Now & Next \buide\o shows daily TV 
    pro\bramme in\formation \for\o each channel 
    accordin\b to the broadcastin\b time.
     yScroll l / r to view in\formation \f\oor a 
    desired pro\bramme while watchin\o\b the 
    current channel. 
     y Scroll u / d to view in\formation \f\oor other channels. 
    I\f you want to move \oto the currently selected chan\onel, 
    press the E\bTER
    E button.
    Using the Channel M\henu
    Press the CO\bTE\bT button to select Watch	TV, and 
    then select the men\ou you want to use. \oEach screen will be 
    displayed.

    The EPG (Electronic Pro\bramme Guide) 
    in\formation is provided by broadcasters. 
    Usin\b pro\bramme schedules pr\oovided by 
    broadcasters, you can \ospeci\fy pro\brammes 
    you want to watch in\o advance so that 
    the channel automat\oically chan\bes to 
    the selected pro\bramme channel at t\ohe 
    specified time. Pro\bramme entries may \o
    appear blank or out\o o\f date dependin\b on\o a channel status. \o
    Using	Channel	View
     ya Red (Sche.	Mgr) : Displays the Schedule	Manager.
     yb Green (\f24	Hours): Viewin\b the list o\f pr\oo\brammes to 
    be broadcasted be\fore 24 hours.
     y{ Yellow (+24	Hours): Viewin\b the list o\f pr\oo\brammes to 
    be broadcasted a\fter 24 h\oours.
     y} Blue (Ch.	Mode): Select the type \oo\f channels you 
    want to display on t\ohe Channel	View window.
     y; In\formation: Displays\o details o\f the sele\octed 
    pro\bramme.
     yk (Page): Move to next or p\orevious pa\be.
     yE (Watch / Schedule)
     – When selectin\b the c\ourrent pro\bramme, you can 
    watch the selected \opro\bramme.
     –When selectin\b the \f\outure pro\bramme, you can 
    reserve to watch the\o selected pro\bramme. To cancel 
    the schedule, press the E\bTER
    E button a\bain and 
    select Cancel	Schedules.

    You can view, modi\fy or delete a\o channel you have r\oeserved 
    to watch.
    Using	the	Timer	Viewing
    You can set a desired channel to be dis\oplayed automatically\o 
    at the intended tim\oe. Set the current time first to us\oe this 
    \function.
    1.	 Press the E\bTER
    E button to select Schedule	Manager.
    2.	 Press the E\bTER
    E button to add pro\bramme to 
    schedule manually. \oThe Timer	Viewing screen appears.
    3.	 Press the 
    l / r / u / d buttons to set the\o Antenna, 
    Channel, Repeat, Date or Start	Time.

    How	to	use	Timer	Viewing	in	Channel	List	(digital	channels	only)
    When you set the Timer	Viewing in Channel	List, you can 
    only set the pro\bramme in Programme	View.
    1.	 Press the 
    CH	LIST button, then selec\ot a desired di\bital 
    channel.
    2.	 Press the 
    { (Programme	View) button.
    3.	 Press the 
    u / d buttons to select t\ohe desired 
    pro\bramme, then press the E (Information) button.
    4.	 Select

    Auto	Tuning	
     ✎Automatically allocated pro\bramme numbers may not 
    correspond to actual or desired pro\bramme numbers. 
    I\f a channel is locked usin\b the 
    Channel	Lock \function, 
    the PIN input window appears.
     ■Auto	Tuning
     –Air	/	Cable: Select the antenn\oa source to memorise.
    Digital	&	Analogue	/	Digital	/	Analogue: Select the 
    channel source to memorise.
     ✎When selectin\b Cable  → Digital	&	Analogue 
    or Digital : Provide a value to scan \for cable 
    channels.
     xSearch	Mode ( Full / \betwork / Quick ): Scans 
    \for all channels with active broadcast stations 
    and stores them in the T V.
     ✎I\f you select Quick , you can set up the 
    \betwork , \betwork	ID, Frequency , 
    Modulation  and Symbol	Rate manually 
    by pressin\b the button on the remote 
    control.
     x\betwork ( Auto / Manual ): Selects the \betwork	ID settin\b mode amon\b  Auto or Manual.
     x\betwork	ID: When \betwork is Manual , you 
    can set up \betwork	ID usin\b the numeric 
    buttons.
     xFrequency : Displays the \frequency \for the

     xModulation : Displays available modulation 
    values.

     – Modulation: Displays availabl\oe modulation values.\o
    Manual	Tuning	
    Scans \for a channel \omanually and stores in the TV.

    has finnished, a cha\onnel is updated in \othe channel 
    list.
     ✎Channel mode
     xP (pro\bramme mode): When tunin\b is complete, 
    the broadcastin\b stations in your area have been 
    assi\bned to position numbers \from P0 to P99. You 
    can select a channel by enterin\b the position number 
    in this mode.
     xC (aerial channel mode) /  S (cable channel mode): 
    These two modes allow you to select a channel 
    by enterin\b the assi\bned number \for each aerial 
    broadcastin\b station or cable channel.
    Fine	Tune	
    (analo\bue channels o\only)
    I\f the reception is clear, you do not have to\o fine tune the 
    channel, as this is \odone automatically d\ourin\b the search and 
    store operation. I\f the \osi\bnal is weak or dis\otorted, fine tune 
    the channel manuall\oy. Scroll to the le\ft or r\oi\bht until the ima\be \o
    is clear. 
     ✎Settin\bs are applied to the channel you’re currently 
    watchin\b.
     ✎Fine tuned channels that have been saved are marked 
    with an asterisk “*” on the ri\bht-hand side o\f the 
    channel number in the channel banner
     ✎To reset the \fine-tunin\b, select Reset .
    Transfer	Channel	List
    The PIN input screen appears. Enter\o your 4 di\bit PIN nu\omber. 
    Imports or exports t\ohe channel map. You should connect a 
    USB stora\be to use t\ohis \function.
     ■Import	from	USB: Import channel lis\ot \from USB.
     ■Export	to	USB: Export channel lis\ot to USB. this \funct\oion 
    is available when U\oSB is connected.
    Picture Menu

    Select your pre\ferred picture type. 
     ✎When an input source is set to PC, 
    the Picture	Mode is only available the 
    Standard and Entertain .

     ■Standard: Suitable \for a nor\omal 
    environment.
     ■Movie: Suitable \for watch\oin\b movies in a dark \oroom.
     ■Entertain: Suitable \for watch\oin\b movies and \bames.\o
     ✎Available only PC mode.

    Samsung	MagicAngle
    This \feature allows you to see \ooptimal screen quality 
    accordin\b to your viewin\b p\oosition. When viewin\b \othe screen 
    at an an\ble \from below, above or the side \oo\f the product, 
    by settin\b the appr\oopriate mode \for each\o position you can 
    obtain a similar pict\oure quality as viewin\b\o the screen directly 
    \from the \front.
     ■Off: Select when viewin\o\b \from the \front position.
     ■Lean	back	mode: Select when viewin\o\b \from a sli\bhtly 
    lower position.
     ■Standing	Mode: Select when viewin\o\b \from the upper 
    position.
     ✎When Samsung	MagicAngle is set to Lean	back	mode or Standing	Mode, Gamma  is not available.
    Backlight	/	Contrast	/	Brightness	/	
    Sharpness	/	Colour	/	Tint	(G/R)	
    Your television has s\oeveral settin\b option\os \for picture quality 
    control.
     ✎\bOTE
     xIn analo\bue T V,	Ext.,	AV modes o\f the PAL system, 
    the Tint	(G/R) \function is not available.
     xIn PC mode, you can only make chan\bes to 
    Backlight , Contrast , Brightness and Sharpness .
     xSettin\bs can be adjusted and stored \for each 
    external device connected to the T V.
     xLowerin\b picture bri\bhtness reduces power 
    consumption.
    Screen	Adjustment
     ■Picture	Size: Your cable box / satel\olite 
    receiver may have its\o own set o\f screen 
    sizes as well. Howe\over, we hi\bhly 
    recommend you use 16:\o9 mode most o\f 
    the time.
    Auto	Wide: Automatically adju\osts the 
    picture size to the 16:9 \oaspect ratio.
    16:9: Sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode.\o
    Wide	Zoom: Ma\bnifies the pictu\ore size more than 4:3.
     ✎Adjusts the  Position by usin\b u / d buttons.
    Zoom: Ma\bnifies the 16:9\o wide pictures vertically to fit \o
    the screen size.
     ✎Adjusts the  Zoom or Position  by usin\b u / d 
    button.
    4:3: Sets the picture to basic (4:3) mod\oe.
     ✎Do not watch in 4:3 \format \for a lon\b time. Traces 
    o\f borders displayed on the le\ft, ri\bht and centre 
    o\f the screen may cause ima\be retention (screen 
    burn) which are not covered by the warranty.
    Screen	Fit: Displays the \full\o ima\be without any cu\ot-o\f\f 
    when HDMI (720p / 1\o080i / 1080p) or Comp\oonent 
    (1080i / 1080p) si\bna\ols are inputted.
     ✎Adjusts the  Position by usin\b u / d / l / r 
    button.
     ✎\bOTE
     xDependin\b on the input source, the picture size 
    options may vary.
     xThe available items may di\f\fer dependin\b on the 
    selected mode.
     xIn PC mode, only  16:9 and 4:3 modes can be 
    adjusted.

     xI\f you use the Screen	Fit \function with HDMI 720p 
    input, 1 line will be cut at the top, bottom, le\ft and 
    ri\bht as in the overscan \function.
     ■4:3	Screen	Size	(16:9	/	Wide	Zoom	/	Zoom	/	4:3): 
    Available only when \opicture size is set to Auto	Wide. You 
    can determine the d\oesired picture size at the 4:3 W\oSS 
    (Wide Screen Service) size or\o the ori\binal size. E\oach 
    European country requires di\f\ferent picture size.
     ✎Not available in PC, Component or HDMI mode.

    Coarse / Fine: Removes or reduces picture noise. I\f the 
    noise is not removed by Fine-tunin\o\b alone, then adjus\ot 
    the \frequency as best as \opossible (Coarse) and Fine-
    tune a\bain. A\fter th\oe noise has been reduced, readjust 
    the picture so that it is ali\bn\oed to the centre o\f screen.
    Position: Adjusts the PC s\ocreen position with dir\oection

    Using	Your	TV	as	a	Computer	(PC)	Display
    Settin\b Up Your PC So\ftware (Based on Windows XP)
    Dependin\b on the ver\osion o\f Windows and the video\o card, 
    the actual screens on your PC may\o di\f\fer in which case the\o 
    same basic set-up in\o\formation will almost\o always be applied.\o 
    (I\f not, contact your\o computer manu\factur\oer or Samsun\b 
    Dealer.)
    1.	 Click on “Control Panel” on the Windows start menu.
    2.	 Click on “Appearance\o and Themes” in the\o “Control 
    Panel” window and a\o display dialo\b-box w\oill appear.
    3.	 Click on “Display” a\ond a display dialo\b \obox will appear.
    4.	 Navi\bate to the “Set\otin\bs” tab on the di\osplay dialo\b-box.
