MENU button [ ] Opens the OSD menu. Also use to exit the OSD menu or return to the previous menu. Adjust buttons [ ] These buttons allow you to adjust items in the menu. Analog/Digital(PC) : MagicBright™ button [] MagicBright™ is a new feature providing the optimum viewing environment depending on the contents of the image you are watching. Currently four differen t modes are available: Custom, Entertain, Internet, and Text. Each mode has its own pre- configured brightness value. You can easily select one of four settings by simply pressing MagicBright™ control buttons. 1) Custom Although the values are carefu lly chosen by our engineers, the pre-configured values may not be comfortable to your eyes depending on your taste. If this is the case, adjust the brightness and contrast by using the OSD menu. 2) Entertain : High brightness For watching motion pictures su ch as a DVD or Video CD. 3) Internet : Medium brightness For working with a mixture of images such as text and graphics. 4) Text : Normal brightness For documentations or works involving heavy text. >>Click here to see an animation clip Digital(DVD)/Video /S-Video : Mode button The Monitor has four automatic picture settings (Dynamic, Standard, Movie and Custom) t hat are preset at the factory. You can activate either Dynamic, Standard, Movie, or Custom. You can select Custom which automatically recalls your personalized picture settings. 1) Dynamic Select this mode to view a sharper image than in Standard mode. 2) Standard Select this mode when the surroundings are bright. This also provides a sharp image. 3) Movie Select this mode when the surroundings are dark. This will save power and reduce eye fatigue. 4) Custom Select this mode when you want to adjust the image according to your preferences. >>Click here to see an animation clip Brightness button [ ] ( Available in Analog Mode Only ) When OSD is not on the screen, push the button to adjust brightness. >>Click here to see an animation clip Enter button [ ] / SOURCE button Activates a highlighted menu item. / Push the SOURCE, then selects the video signal while the OSD is off. (When the SOURCE button is pressed to change the input mode, a message appears in t he upper left of the screen displaying the current mode -- Analog, Digital, Video and S- Video input signal.) Note : Changing the source is allowed only in external devices that are connected to the monitor at the time. AUTO button (Available in Analog mode only) When the AUTO button is pressed, the Auto Adjustment screen appears as shown in the anima ted screen on the center. Auto adjustment allows the monito r to self-adjust to the incoming video signal. The values of fine, coarse and position are adjusted automatically. >>Click here to see an animation clip PIP button ( Available in Analog/Digital(PC) Mode Only ) In Analog or Digital Mode, turns on Video screens in PIP Mode. Power button [ ] Use this button for turn the monitor on and off.
Power Indicator This will enable you to see t he overall power status of the system. For more information, see the PowerSaver section. See PowerSaver described in the manual for further information regarding power saving \ functions. For energy conservation, turn your monitor OFF when it is not needed, or when leavin g it unattended for long periods. Rear (The configuration at the back of the m onitor may vary from product to product.) POWER S/W : Switch the monitor on and off. POWER IN : Connect the power cord for y our monitor to the POWER IN on the back of the monitor. DVI IN (Source List : Digital) : Connect the DVI cable to the DVI IN port on the back of your monitor.
RGB IN (Source List : Analog) : Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin, RGB IN port on the back of your monitor. VIDEO (Source List : Video) : External device (video) input terminal S-VIDEO (Source List : S-Video) : External device (S-video) input terminal Kensington Lock : The Kensington lock is a device used to physically fix the system when using it in a public place. (The locking device has to be purchased separately.) For using a locking device, co ntact where you purchase it. Stand Height Adjustment 1. Press the top side of the st and and then push the button at the rear bottom of the stand. 2. You can adjust the stand height using this button. When you are using a stand height as maximum , it will go down a little bit from spring elasticity. See Connecting the Monitor for further information re garding cable connections.
Connecting the Monitor 1.Connect the power cord for your monitor to the POWER IN on the back of the monitor. Plug the power cord for the monitor into a nearby outlet. 2-1. Using the D-sub (Analog) connector on the video card. Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin, RGB IN port on the back of your monitor. 2-2. Using the DVI (Digital) connector on the video card. Connect the DVI cable to the DVI IN port on the back of your monitor. 2-3. Connected to a Macintosh. Connect the monitor to the Macintosh com puter using the D-sub connection cable. 2-4. In the case of an old model Macintosh, you need to connect t he monitor using a special Mac adapter. 3. Turn on your computer and monitor. If your monitor displays an image, installation is complete. Connecting to Other devices This monitor allows the user to connect it to such input devices as a DVD player, a VCR
or a camcorder without disconnecting the PC. The configuration at the back of the monitor may vary from product to product. This product does not have speakers. To listen to audio, connect the audi o cable to another audio device. 1. Connecting AV Devices The monitor has AV connection terminals to connect AV input devices like DVD, VCR or Camcorder. You may enjoy AV signals as long as the monitor is turned on. 1. Input devices such as DVD, VCR or Camc order are connected to the VIDEO or S-VIDEO terminal of the monitor usi ng the Video or S-Video cable. 2. Then, start the DVD, VCR or Camcor der with a DVD disc or tape inserted. 3. Select Video or S-Video using the SOURCE button . Video, S-Video cable are optional. 2. Connecting Digital DVD The monitor has DVI IN connection terminals to connect DVI input devices digital DVD.
1. Input devices such as digital DVD are connected to the DVI IN terminal of the monitor using the DVI cable. 2. Then, start the DVD with a DVD disc inserted. 3. Select Digital using the SOURCE button . Using the Stand Removing the base 1. Turn off your monitor and unplug its power cord. 2. Lay the LCD monitor face-down on a flat surf ace with a cushion beneath it to protect the screen. 3. Remove four screws(A) and then remove the Stand from the LCD monitor. Pivot Stand
Attaching a Base This monitor accepts a 100mm x 100m m VESA-compliant mounting interface pad. A. Monitor B. Mounting interface pad (sold separately) 1. Turn off your monitor and unplug its power cord. 2. Lay the LCD monitor face-down on a flat surf ace with a cushion beneath it to protect the screen. 3. Remove four screws and then remove the stand from the LCD monitor. 4. Align the mounting interface Pad with the holes in the rear cover mounting pad and secure it with four screws that came with the arm-t ype base, wall mount hanger or other base. Installing the Monitor Driver (Automatic) When prompted by the operating system for the monitor driver, insert the CD-ROM included with this monitor. Driver installation is slightly different from one operating system to another. Follow the directions appropriate for the operating system you have. 1. Insert CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Click Windows ME Driver . 3. Choose your monitor model in the model list, then click the OK button. 4. Click the Install button in the Warning window. 5. Monitor driver installation is completed. Windows XP/2000 1. Insert CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Click Windows XP/2000 Driver 3. Choose your monitor model in the model list, then click the OK button. 4. If you can see following message window, then click the Continue Anyway button. Then click OK button. This monitor driver is under certifying MS logo,and this installation dont damage your system.The certifie d driver will be posted on Samsung Monitor Homepage

Insert CD into the CD-ROM driver. 2. Click Start —> Control Panel then click the Appearance and Themes icon. 3. Click Display icon and choose the Settings tab then click Advanced... 4. Click the Properties button on the Monitor tab and select Driver tab.
5. Click Update Driver.. and select Install from a list or.. then click Next button. 6. Select Dont search ,I will.. then click Next and then click Have disk. 7. Click the Browse button then choose A:(D:\Driver) and choose your monitor model in the model list and click the Next button. 8. If you can see following Message window, then click the Continue Anyway button. Then click OK button.
