    Customize Quick Settings
    Quick settings are the settings that you are most likely 
    to frequently use.
    To create a Quick settings list:
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps, and 
    then tap 
     Settings .
    2. Tap Edit quick settings , and choose up to nine 
    settings.
    To edit the Quick settings list:
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps , and 
    then tap 
     Settings .
    2. Tap Edit .
    • Choose additional settings to display in your 
    Quick settings menu. Settings that are already 
    in the Quick settings menu are checked.
    • Uncheck a setting to remove it from the Quick 
    settings list. 
    						
    							Connections
    Manage connections between your device 
    and a variety of networks and other devices.

    Wi-Fi
    Wi-Fi is a term used for certain types of Wireless Local 
    Area Networks (WLAN). Wi-Fi communication requires 
    access to a wireless Access Point (AP).
    Connect to a Wi‑Fi Network
    To scan for a Wi-Fi network and connect to it:
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
    2. Tap  Settings > Wi‑Fi, and then tap On/Off  to 
    turn on Wi-Fi.
    • When Wi-Fi is turned on, your device 
    automatically scans for available networks and 
    displays them.
    3. Tap the network you want to connect to. 
    • When you select an open network, you are 
    automatically connected to the network. 
    Otherwise, enter a password to connect.
    Manually Connect to a Wi‑Fi Network
    You can connect your device to a Wi-Fi network 
    manually.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Wi‑Fi, and then tap  On/Off to 
    turn on Wi-Fi.
    3. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and tap 
     Add network .
    4. Enter information about the Wi-Fi network:
    • Network name : Enter the name of the Wi-Fi 
    network.
    • Security : Select a security option and enter your 
    password.
    • Auto reconnect : Connect to this network 
    automatically whenever available.
    • Show advanced options : Add advanced options 
    such as IP settings and Proxy settings.

    5. Tap Connect to store the new information and 
    connect to your target wireless Access Point.
    Wi‑Fi Options
    The Wi-Fi settings menu allows you to set up many of 
    your device’s advanced Wi-Fi services.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Wi‑Fi, and then tap On/Off  to 
    turn on Wi-Fi.
    3. Tap  More options  > Advanced for options:
    • Show Wi‑Fi pop‑u p: Notify if Wi-Fi is available 
    when opening apps.
    • Smart network switch : Connect automatically 
    to a mobile network connection when the Wi-Fi 
    connection is unstable.
    • Wi‑Fi notifications: Receive notifications when 
    open networks in range are detected.
    • Hotspot 2.0 : Connect automatically to Wi-Fi 
    access points that support Hotspot 2.0.
    • Manage networks : Manage your saved Wi-Fi 
    networks.
    • WPS push button : Set up a connection to a 
    WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) router or other 
    equipment.
    • WPS PIN entry : View the PIN used by your device 
    to set up a PIN-secured connection to a Wi-Fi 
    router or other equipment (not configurable).
    • Keep Wi‑Fi on during sleep: Specify when to 
    disconnect from Wi-Fi.
    • Install network certificates : Install 
    authentication certificates.
    • Wi‑Fi control history: View devices that have 
    turned your Wi-Fi on or off.

    • MAC address: View your device’s MAC address, 
    which is required when connecting to some 
    secured networks (not configurable).
    • IP address : View your device’s IP address 
    (not configurable).
    Wi‑Fi Direct
    Wi-Fi Direct allows direct device-to-device connections 
    using Wi-Fi, without having to connect to a Wi-Fi 
    network.
    Connect to a Device with Wi‑F i Direct
    Use Wi-Fi Direct to connect directly to other 
    Wi-Fi Direct devices.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Wi‑Fi, and then tap On/Off  to 
    turn on Wi-Fi. 
    • Wi-Fi must be on to configure settings.
    3. Tap Wi‑Fi Direct. Your device automatically scans 
    for nearby Wi-Fi Direct devices.
    4. Select a device, and then follow the prompts to 
    complete the connection.
    Share Data with Wi‑F i Direct
    Share data with another device using Wi-Fi Direct.
    1. Connect your phone to the device using 
    Wi-Fi Direct. 
    2. From an app, tap  Share o r  More options  > 
    Share .
    3. Tap Wi‑Fi Direct and follow the prompts.
    Disconnect from Wi‑F i Direct
    Disconnect your phone from a Wi-Fi Direct device.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Wi‑Fi > Wi‑Fi Direct . 
    3. Tap a device to disconnect it.

    Bluetooth
    Bluetooth is a short-range communications technology 
    that connects your device wirelessly to a number of 
    Bluetooth devices, such as headsets and hands-free car 
    Bluetooth systems, and Bluetooth-enabled computers, 
    printers, and wireless devices.
    The Bluetooth communication range is approximately 
    30 feet.
    Pair with a Bluetooth Device
    The Bluetooth pairing process allows you to establish 
    trusted connections between your device and another 
    Bluetooth device. 
    Pairing between two Bluetooth devices is a one-time 
    process. Once a pairing is created, the devices 
    continue to recognize their partnership and exchange 
    information without having to re-enter a passcode.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
    2. Tap  Settings > Bluetooth , and then tap  On/Off 
    to turn on Bluetooth.
    • Make sure that the target device is discoverable 
    so that your device can find it. Refer to the 
    instructions that came with the device to find 
    out how to set it to discoverable mode.
    • When Bluetooth is first turned on, it scans for 
    nearby Bluetooth devices and displays them.
    • To manually perform a new scan, tap  Scan.
    3. Tap the name of the target device when you see it 
    displayed in the Bluetooth devices section. 
    • Your device automatically tries to pair with the 
    target device. If automatic pairing fails, enter 
    the passcode supplied with the target device.

    Rename a Paired Device
    Once you have paired your device to another device, 
    you can rename the paired device to make it easier to 
    recognize.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
    2. Tap  Settings > Bluetooth , and then tap  On/Off 
    to turn on Bluetooth.
    3. Tap  Settings  next to the previously paired 
    device, and then tap  Rename.
    4. Enter a new name, and tap  Rename.
    Share Data with Bluetooth
    Use Bluetooth to transfer information between your 
    phone and another Bluetooth-enabled device.
    To send data to another device using Bluetooth:
    1. From an app, tap  Share o r  More options > 
    Share .
    2. Tap Bluetooth  and follow the prompts. To receive data from another device using Bluetooth:
    1. When another device attempts to send a file to your 
    phone using Bluetooth, you will see a request to 
    accept the file. 
    2. Tap 
    Accept .
    3. To open the file, drag down the Notification panel 
    and tap  File received .
    Connect with a Bluetooth Device
    Listen to music using a Bluetooth stereo headset, or 
    have hands-free conversations using a compatible 
    Bluetooth headset or car kit. 
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Bluetooth , and then tap  On/Off 
    to turn on Bluetooth.
    3. Tap a paired device.

    Disconnect from a Bluetooth Device
    Disconnect a Bluetooth device from your phone.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
    2. Tap  Settings > Bluetooth , and then tap  On/Off 
    to turn off Bluetooth.
    Unpair from a Bluetooth Device
    When you unpair from a Bluetooth device, the two 
    devices no longer recognize each other. To connect 
    again, you have to pair the devices.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Bluetooth , and then tap  On/Off 
    to turn on Bluetooth.
    3. Tap  Settings  next to the paired device, and 
    then tap  Unpair to delete the paired device.
    Data Usage
    Monitor how your data is being used, and set limits and 
    restrictions to conserve it.
    Your service provider may account for data usage 
    differently.
    Turn Data Saver On or Off
    Data saver prevents some apps from sending or 
    receiving data in the background, as well as reduce the 
    frequency of data use.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Data usage >  Data saver.
    3. Tap On/Off to turn Data saver on or off.
    • To permit certain apps to have unrestricted data 
    usage, tap  Allow app while Data saver on , and 
    then tap  On/Off next to each app that you want 
    to permit to have unrestricted data usage.

    Turn Mobile Data On or Off
    Enable or disable mobile data use on your phone.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
    2. Tap  Settings > Data usage >  Mobile data to turn 
    mobile data on or off.
    Check Mobile Data Usage by Apps
    Monitor your apps’ mobile data usage.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Data usage > Mobile data usage .
    3. Tap an app to view data usage details.
    Create an Alert for Mobile Data 
    Usage
    Receive alerts when mobile data use reaches a warning 
    amount you set.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Data usage >  Billing cycle and 
    data warning .
    3. Tap Set data warning , to enable the feature.
    4. Tap Data warning , and enter the data usage 
    warning amount.
    5. Tap  Set to save.

    Additional Data Usage Options
    Configure more options for mobile data usage.
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
    2. Tap  Settings > Data usage . The following 
    options are available:
    • Billing cycle and data warning : Set the day of 
    the month to start the bill cycle, and set data 
    limits.
    • Wi‑Fi data usage: View data usage over Wi-Fi 
    connections.
    • Restrict networks : Select networks to prevent 
    apps that are running in the background from 
    using them.
    Airplane Mode
    Airplane mode disconnects your device from all 
    networks and turns off connectivity features, such as 
    phone calls and Wi-Fi.
    While in Airplane mode, you can use other features 
    such as playing music, watching videos, and other 
    offline applications.
    To enable or disable Airplane mode:
    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps .
    2. Tap  Settings > Airplane mode , and then tap 
    On/Off  to enable or disable the option.
