169 6Settings You can change the initial date and time settings (p.46), and the style in which the date appears on the display. 1Use the four-way controller (23) to select [Date Adjustment] in the [ W Setting] menu. 2Press the four-way controller ( 5). The [Date Adjustment] screen appears. 3Press the four-way controller ( 5).The frame moves to [mm/dd/yy]. Depending on the initial setting or previous setting, [dd/mm/yy] or [yy/mm/dd] may be displayed. 4Use the four-way controller (23) to choose the date and time display style. Choose from [mm/dd/yy], [dd/mm/yy] or [yy/mm/dd]. 5Press the four-way controller ( 5).The frame moves to [24h]. 6Use the four-way controller (23) to select [24h] (24-hour display) or [12h] (12-hour display). 7Press the four-way controller ( 5).The frame returns to [Date Format]. 8Press the four-way controller (3).The frame moves to [Date]. 9Press the four-way controller (5).The frame moves to one of the following items depending on the date style set in step 4. After changing the day, change the year in the same manner. 12Change the time in the same way as in steps 7 to 11.If you selected [12h] in step 6, the camera switches between am and pm corresponding to the time. 13Press the four-way controller ( 3) to select [Settings complete]. 14Press the 4 button.The date and time settings are saved and the screen returns to the [ WSetting] menu. You can set the alarm to ring at a specified time. You can choose whether the alarm will ring at the same time every day or only once at the set time. 1Use the four-way controller ( 23) to select [Alarm] in the [W Setting] menu. 2Press the four-way controller (5). The [Alarm] screen appears. 3Press the four-way controller ( 5).A pull-down menu appears. When you press the 4 button in step 14, the camera clock is reset to 0 seconds. To set the exact time, press the 4 button when the time signal (on the TV, radio, etc.) reaches 0 seconds. 172 6Settings The Clock Display appears and the alarm rings for one minute when the set time is reached while the camera is turned off. You can stop the alarm by pressing any button on the camera while the alarm is ringing. The date and time selected in “Setting the Date and Time” (p.46) and “Changing the Date and Time” (p.169) serve as the W (Hometown) date and time. By using the world time function, you can display the time in the city that you select as X (Destination). This is useful when taki ng pictures in a different time zone. 1Use the four-way controller (23) to select [World Time] in the [W Setting] menu. 2Press the four-way controller (5). The [World Time] screen appears. 3Use the four-way controller ( 23) to select X(Destination). 4Press the four-way controller ( 5).The [Destination] screen appears. The city that is currently selected blinks on the map. Turning the Alarm Off • The alarm will not ring if the camera is on when the set time is reached. • Even if an alarm is set, it will not ring when Interval Shot or Interval Movie is set. The current time, location and time difference of the selected city appear. 6Use the four-way controller ( 23) to select [DST]. 7Use the four-way controller (45) to select O (On) or P(Off). Select O if the Destination city uses daylight saving time. 8Press the 4 button. 175 6Settings You can change the naming system of the folder for storing images. When the naming system is set to the [Date], images are saved in separate folders by the date they were taken. Changing the Naming System of the Folder ChoiceThe name of the folder Date (Default) xxx_mmdd (3-digit folder number_month day) * xxx_ddmm (3-digit folder number_day month) when the date format is set to [dd/mm/yy] A folder is made by day, and the images of the day are saved in the folder. The 4-digit name is displayed before the 4-digit file number. 1Select [USER] in step 3 in “Selecting a Rule for Naming Files”. 2Press the four-way controller ( 5).The [File Name] screen appears. “USER” has already been entered. 3Use the four-way controller (2345) to select a character to enter, and press the 4 button. The first character is fixed and the cursor moves to the second character. 4Repeat step 3 and enter the remaining characters. 5Press the four-way controller ( 4) while “A” is selected, or press (35) while “_” is selected.
