269 Changing Additional Settings9 Setting the Beep, Date and Time, and Display Language You can turn the camera operation beep on or off, or change its volume. By default, all available items are set to O (On), and the volume level is set to [3]. The following six items can be set. • In-focus • AE-L (AE Lock operation sound) •Self-timer • Remote Control • One Push File Format (operation sound when [One Push File Format] is assigned to the | button) • Press OK for 1 sec. (operation sound when changing AF point is enabled or disabled) 1Select [Beep] in the [RSet-up 1] menu and press the four- way controller (5). The [Beep 1] screen appears. 2Press the four-way controller (3) and use the four-way controller (45) to adjust the volume. Select from six levels. When set to 0, you can turn all the beeps off. 3Use the four-way controller (23) to select an item. Turn the e-dial to display the [Beep 2] screen. 4Use the four-way controller (45) to select O (On) or P(Off). 5Press the 3 button twice. 270 Changing Additional Settings9You can change the initial date and time settings, and set their display formats. Choose [mm/dd/yy], [dd/mm/yy] or [yy/mm/dd] for the date display format, and [12h] (12-hour display) or [24h] (24-hour display) for the time display format. Set in [Date Adjustment] of the [R Set-up 1] menu (p.266). 1 Setting the Date and Time (p.64) The date and time selected in “Initial Settings” (p.60) serve as the date and time of your present location. Setting the destination in [World Time] enables you to display the local date and time on the monitor when traveling overseas. 1Select [World Time] in the [RSet-up 1] menu and press the four-way controller (5). The [World Time] screen appears. 2Use the four-way controller (45) to select X (Destination) or W (Hometown) for [Setting the Time]. This setting is reflected on the date and time that appear in the guide display and control panel. 3Press the four-way controller (3). The selection frame moves to X (Destination setting). Turn the e-dial to change the region. The location, time difference and current time of the selected city appear. 6Press the four-way controller (3) to select [DST]. 7Use the four-way controller (45) to select O (On) or P(Off). Select O if the destination city uses daylight saving time (DST). 8Press the 4 button. The destination setting is saved and the camera returns to the [World Time] screen. 9Press the 3 button twice. The screen that was displayed before selecting the menu appears again. • Refer to “List of World Time Cities” (p.272) for cities that can be selected as a destination. • Select W (Hometown) in Step 2 to set the city and DST setting. •X appears in the guide display and control panel if [Setting the Time] is set to X(Destination). The camera supports the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Greek, Russian, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. 274 Changing Additional Settings9 Adjusting the Monitor and the Menu Display You can set the text size of an item selected on the respective menu screens to [Standard] (normal display) or [Large] (magnified display). Set in [Text Size] of the [R Set-up 1] menu (p.266). Set the length of time that the guides are displayed on the monitor when the camera is turned on or the Capture mode is changed. The display color of the status screen and control panel are changed. You can set the Instant Review display settings. 1Select [Instant Review] in the [ARec. Adjust the settings when the monitor is hard to see. 1Select [Brightness Level] in the [R Set-up 2] menu and press the four-way controller (5). The [LCD Color Tuning] screen appears. 2Adjust the color. Seven levels (225 patterns) are available on the G-M and B-A axes. Available operations 3Press the 4 button. 4Press the 3 button.
