    6. ADVANCED FUNCTIONS
    6.1 TV CHANNEL CONTROLS
    6.1.1 STORING TV  CHANNELS  AUTOMATICALLY 
    You can scan for the frequency ranges available (availability depends on
    your country). Automatically allocated program numbers may not 
    correspond to actual or desired program numbers. However you can
    sort numbers manually and clear any channels you do not wish to
    watch.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select TV.
    Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    => The Channel Settingsis selected.
    3Press the VOL+button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH-or CH+button to select Country.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select your country.
    5Press the CH-or CH+button to select Auto Search.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to start the search.
    => The scan starts. The scanned channels are automatically stored
    in the order which reflects their position in the frequency range
    (with lowest first and highest last). If you want to stop, press
    the MENUbutton.
    6After channel search is complete, the Program Tableis displayed.
    You can edit channels.
    For more details, refer to “EDITING TV CHANNELS” on page 26.

    6.1.2 STORING TV CHANNELS MANUALLY 
    You can choose whether or not to store each of the channels found
    and the program number of each stored channel which you wish to
    identify.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select TV.
    Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    3Press the CH-or CH+button to select Program Edit.
    Press the VOL+button to enter the selected menu group.
    => The Programis selected.
    4To assign a program number to a channel, find the correct number
    by pressing theVOL+or VOL-button.
    5Press the CH-or CH+button to select Channel.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select the channel to be
    stored.
    6If necessary, re-select the broadcasting system required.
    Press the CH-or CH+button to select System.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select required system 
    (B/G,D/K,I,or L).
    7To store the channel and associated program number, selectStore
    Programby pressing the CH-or CH+button.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button.

    6.1.3 FINE TUNING TV  CHANNEL  RECEPTION 
    If the signal is weak or distorted, you may have to fine tune the channel
    manually.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select TV.
    Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    3Press the CH-or CH+button to select Program Edit.
    Press the VOL +button to enter the selected menu group.
    4To select the channel to be tuned, select Channelby pressing the
    CH-or CH+button.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select required channel.
    5Press the CH-or CH+button to select Fine Tune.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to obtain a good quality of the 
    picture and sound until you reach the optimal setting.
    6To store your setting, select Store Programby pressing the 
    CH- or CH+button.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button.
    Note:
    If you are unable to fine tune a channel, check that the Systemsetting
    is correct.

    6.1.4 LABELING THE TV  CHANNELS 
    You can assign an easy-to-remember label to any channel. A label con-
    sists of several fields, where each field is a letter, a number, a symbol, or
    a blank. When the RECALLbutton is pressed, the channel label is dis-
    played next to the program number.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select TV.
    Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    3Press the CH-or CH+button to select Program Edit.
    Press the VOL+button to enter the selected menu group.
    4To select the channel to be assigned to a new name, select
    Channelby pressing the CH-or CH+button.
    Press the VOL+or VOL- button to select required channel.
    5Press the CH-or CH+button to select Edit Labels.
    Press the VOL+button.
    6Press the yellow or cyan button to select a letter (A~Z or a~z), a
    number (0~9), a symbol (!, “, #, $, etc.), or a blank.
    Move on to the previous or next field by pressing theVOL+or
    VOL- button.

    6.1.5 CHOOSING A  MTS (Multi-Channel Television
    Sound) MODE
    Depending on the particular program being broadcast, you can listen to
    Mono or Stereo.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press theVOL +orVOL-button to select TV.
    Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    3Press the CH-or CH+button to select Program Edit.
    Press the VOL+button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH-or CH+button to select MTSMode.
    Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select required mode.
    It is variable depending on the broadcast.
    •MONO A - MONO B - MONO - AUTO
    •MONO A - MONO B - STEREO - AUTO 
    •BILINGUAL A - BILINGUAL B - BILINGUAL - AUTO
    Note:
    You can simply select required MTS mode by repeatedly pressing the
    MTSbutton on the remote control.

    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select TV.
    Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    => The Channel Settingsis selected.
    3Press the VOL+button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press theCH-orCH+button to select Program Table.
    Press the VOL+or VOL- button.
    => The Program Tableis displayed.
    Deleting unwanted channels
    You can delete the channels you do not want to keep.
    5Press the CH-,CH+,VOL+,orVOL-button to select the 
    channel you wish to delete.
    Press the red button to delete required channel.
    Changing channels
    You can change the program numbers of stored channels.
    6Press the CH-,CH+,VOL+,or VOL-button to select the 
    channel you wish to change.
    Press the green button.
    7Press the CH-,CH+,VOL+,orVOL-button to select another
    channel you wish to change.
    Press the green button.

    6.2 PICTURE CONTROLS
    6.2.1 ADJUSTING PICTURE SETTINGS
    Various picture adjustments can be set using the Picture Adjustment
    OSD menu.
    1 Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    => The Imagemenu is displayed.
    2Press the CH+button to enter the selected menu group.
    3Press the CH-or CH+button to select the option to be adjusted.
    Depending on the input source, the following menu’s appear:
    •Brightness - Contrast - Sharpness - Color - Tint 
    - Image Preset
    •Brightness - Contrast - Phase - Frequency 
    - Sharpness (RGB (PC) mode)
    4Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select the optimal setting.
    5Press the MENUbutton to return to the previous menu.
    6.2.2 RESET TO THE  FACTORY  DEFAULTS
    1Press the CH+or CH-button to selectImage Preset.
    2Press the VOL+orVOL-button to reset the picture settings to
    the factory defaults.

    6.3.1 ADJUSTING SOUND SETTINGS
    Various sound adjustments can be set using the Sound Adjustment
    OSD menu.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press theVOL+or VOL-button to selectAudio.
    3Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH+orCH- button to select the desired option:
    Treble - Bass -Balance
    5Press the VOL+orVOL-button to adjust the settings.

    6.4 OSD MENU LANGUAGE
    This PDP has multiple OSD Menu languages built-in including English,
    French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, and Portuguese.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+or VOL-button to select Setup.
    3Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press theVOL+orVOL-button to select the required language.
    6.5 POWER SAVE MODE
    This PDP is equipped with a Power Save mode under RGB(VGA) or
    DVI input modes. When there are no signals detected by the PDP for a
    certain time, the PDP will automatically go into sleep mode until signal
    is restored. You can select a time period between 10 and 180 minutes.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select Setup.
    3Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH+or CH- button to select Sleep Timer.
    5Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select the required time 
    interval.
    Note:
    You can simply select required time interval by repeatedly pressing the
    SLEEPbutton on the remote control.

    6.6 MINIMIZE SCREEN STICKING
    If the fixed pattern is displayed for a long time, a difference in 
    brightness is caused around the lighting area and non-lighting area due
    to deterioration in the fluorescent substance used in the plasma 
    module. It comes to be recognized as image sticking. This feature allows
    you to make the occurrence of image sticking as slow as possible.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select Screen.
    3Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH+or CH-button to select Sticking Minimum.
    5Press the VOL+ or VOL-button to select the required option
    (OFFor ON).
    6.7 FREEZING THE CURRENT PICTURE
    You can freeze the picture when watching a television program.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press theVOL+or VOL-button to select Screen.
    3Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH-or CH+button to select Freeze.
    5Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select required option (OFF
    or ON).
    Note:
    Simply press the FREEZEbutton on the remote control. then current
    picture is stilled. To return to normal viewing press it again.
    6.8 ON-SCREEN DISPLAY TIMEOUT
    You can select for how long the OSD will be shown.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.
    2Press the VOL+orVOL-button to select Setup.
    3Press the CH-button to enter the selected menu group.
    4Press the CH-orCH+button to select OSD Settings.
    5Press the Vol+ button to enter the selected menu group.
    6Press the CH-or CH+button to select Timeout.

    6.9 ADJUSTING THE  MENU TRANSPARENCY
    You can give the transparency OSD background.
    1Press the MENUbutton on the front panel or remote control.

    4Press the CH-or CH+button to select OSD Settings.
    5Press the VOL+button to enter the selected menu group.
    => The Transparencyis selected.
