Although the AC power switch is in the “OFF” position, the unit is
not completely disconnected from the mains. Remove the plug
from the main electrical outlet if you will not be using the unit for
an extended period of time. Place the unit so the plug can be
easily removed.

Location
The front, center, and surround speakers should be placed at ap-
proximately the same distance from the listening position. The angles
in the diagram are approximate.
Front speakers (
 left,  right: SB-FS100)
•Put the front speakers on either side of the television.
Center speaker (
: SB-PC100)
•Place above or below the center of the television, on a shelf or rack
or attach to the wall. Placing it directly on the television can cause
the picture to be distorted.
Surround speakers (
 left,  right: SB-FS100)
•Put the surround speakers to the side of or slightly behind the seat-
ing area.
Active subwoofer (
: SB-WA101)
•Place it at least 5 cm (2w) from the wall as it has a bass reflex port in
the rear.
•Depending on speaker location, the low-range frequency character-
istics will vary. When placed in the corner of a room, the volume will
increase accordingly.
Do not attach the subwoofer to walls or ceilings.
How you set up your speakers can affect the bass and the sound
field. Note the following points.
•Place them on a flat, level secure surface.
Use spacers or similar items to stop them from rocking.
•Placing speakers too close to walls, and corners can result in ex-
cessive bass.
•Cover walls and windows with a thick curtain.
•You can enjoy clearer sound by angling the front speakers toward
the listening chair.
•Do not place anything on top of the subwoofer.
 Installing one or more surround back speakers  (not included)•Surround speakers ( left,  right: SB-FS100)
Install these speakers on the left and right sides of the listening
position.
•Surround back speaker(s) (
: SB-PC70A) (not included)
For one speaker: Install the speaker directly behind the listening
position, about one meter above the floor.
When installing two speakers: Install the speakers 30° to the rear
of the listening position, about one meter above the floor.
Emplacement
Positionner les enceintes avant, centrale et ambiophoniques à une distance

Enceinte avant gauche (
 gauche,  droit : SB-FS100)
•Positionner les enceintes avant de chaque côté du téléviseur.
Enceinte centrale (
: SB-PC100)
•Placer l’enceinte au-dessus ou sous le téléviseur, centrée par rap-
port à l’écran, ou encore sur une étagère, dans une baie ou fixée au
mur.  Éviter de placer l’enceinte directement sur le téléviseur ; cela
pourrait entraîner une distorsion de l’image.
Enceinte ambiophonique droite (
 gauche,  droit : SB-FS100)
•Placer les enceintes ambiophoniques de chaque côté de la position
d’écoute ou légèrement derrière.
Enceinte d’extrêmes-graves avec amplificateur (
: SB-WA101)
•La placer à une distance d’au moins 5 cm (2 po) du mur en raison
de la présence d’un évent acoustique à l’arrière.
•Les caractéristiques des fréquences de la limite inférieure varient
selon la position de l’enceinte. Si elle est placée dans un coin, le
volume augmente.
Ne pas fixer lenceinte dextrêmes-graves à un mur ou la suspendre
au plafond.
L’emplacement des enceintes peut affecter les graves et le champ
sonore. Lire attentivement les points suivants.
•Placer les enceintes sur une surface plate, de niveau et sécuritaire.
Utiliser des cales ou un objet similaire pour éviter qu’elles ne
basculent.
•Afin d’éviter une production excessive des graves, ne pas placer les
enceintes trop près du plancher, des murs ou des coins.
•Recouvrir les murs et les fenêtres d’un rideau épais.
•Pour obtenir une sonorité plus claire, orienter les enceintes vers la
position d’écoute.
•Ne rien placer sur l’enceinte d’extrêmes-graves.
 Installation d’une ou de plusieurs enceintes ambiophoniques à

Installer ces enceintes à gauche et à droite de la position d’écoute.

•Do not apply an unreasonable force to the net at the front of the
speaker unit. You cannot remove the front net.
•You can carry out assembly work stably by placing the cushions in
the packing case beneath the speaker. Place the speaker with the
net side face downward.

Be sure to spread a cloth, for example, on the floor to protect it from
damage.
•After each task, tighten the screws securely.
Tighten the stand base mounting bolts and the height adjusting bolts
using the hexagonal wrench 
 provided.
1.Install the stand base (provided) on the speaker
unit.
Fit the stand base onto the stand of the speaker unit.Install the stand base using the four stand base mounting
bolts (provided).
•Tighten the screws alternately, and finally tighten them hard.
2.Determine the height of the speaker, and tighten
the two height adjusting bolts.
The height of each speaker is set to MIN at the factory.
Adjust the height as shown in the figure above.
Adjust the height.
Loosen the two height adjusting bolts , and move the stand
base.
•
You can obtain a better sound effect by adjusting the height of the
speaker to suit the height of the plasma television, for example.
 Height adjustment range: 1,183 mm (MIN) - 1,428 mm (MAX)
 HeightTighten the height adjusting bolts  alternately, and finally
tighten them hard.
Assembly and Installation

Connect the speaker cable (provided) to the ter-
minals .Be sure to connect only positive (copper) wire  to positive (+)
terminal and negative (silver) wire 
 to negative (–) terminal.
•Speaker cable (short, 4 m): For the front speaker
Speaker cable (long, 10 m): For the surround speaker
Turn the thumb nut in the loosening direction until the hole in
the terminal becomes visible, then insert the conductor from
the top of the terminal and re-tighten the thumb nut.
•Slightly bend the tip of the conductor before inserting it. 
•Tighten the thumb nut when the conductor is protruding from the
hole in the terminal.
Never short-circuit positive (+) and negative (–) speaker wires.
4.Fix the cable to the bottom of the stand base.

Screw  the wood screw into a thick and hard part of the wall.
The surface must be able to support over 45 kg (99 lb.).

•Ne pas forcer la grille à l’avant de l’enceinte. Il est impossible de
retirer la grille.

déposées sur les coussinets d’emballage. Placer les enceintes, la

S’assurer de placer les composants sur un linge doux pour prévenir
tout risque de dommage.
•Après chaque étape, serrer les vis à fond.
À l’aide de la clé hexagonale 
 fournie, serrer les vis de montage
du socle et les vis de réglage de hauteur.
1.Installer le socle (fournie) sur l’enceinte.
Ajuster le socle sur le support de l’enceinte.Installer la base à l’aide des quatre vis de montage de base
(fournies).
•Serrer les vis en alternance, puis les serrer à fond.
2.Déterminer la hauteur de l’enceinte, puis serrer
les deux vis de réglage de hauteur.
La hauteur de chaque enceinte est réglée en usine à la position
minimale (MIN).
Régler la hauteur de la manière indiquée à la figure ci-dessus.
Réglage de la hauteur.
Desserrer les deux vis de réglage de hauteur , puis déplacer
le socle.
•Un meilleur effet peut être obtenu en réglant la hauteur de
l’enceinte selon la hauteur du téléviseur à plasma, par exemple.
 Plage de réglage de hauteur : 1 183 mm (MIN) à 1 428 mm (MAX) HauteurSerrer en alternance les vis de réglage de hauteur , puis les
serrer à fond.

3.Raccorder les câbles d’enceintes (fournis) aux
bornes .S’assurer de raccorder uniquement le fil positif (cuivre)  à la borne
positive (+) et le fil négatif (argent)  à la borne négative (–).•Câble d’enceinte (court, 4 m) : pour les enceintes avantCâble d’enceinte (long, 10 m) : pour les enceintes ambiophoniquesDesserrer l’écrou à molette jusqu’à ce que le trou soit visible
dans la borne, puis insérer le fil dans la borne depuis le haut
et resserrer l’écrou à molette.
•Plier légèrement l’extrémité du fil avant de l’insérer. 
•Serrer l’écrou à molette lorsque le fil sort du trou dans la borne.
Ne jamais court-circuiter les fils positif (+) et négatif (–) du câble
d’enceinte.
4.Attacher le câble d’enceinte en-dessous du socle.

Visser la vis à bois  dans une partie épaisse et solide du mur.

•Do not apply an unreasonable force to the net at the front of the
speaker unit. You cannot remove the front net.
•You can carry out assembly work stably by placing the cushions in
the packing case beneath each speaker. Place the speaker with the
net side face downward. (
 page 6)
Be sure to spread a cloth, for example, on the floor to protect it from
damage.
•After each task, tighten the screws securely.
Tighten the height adjusting bolts using the hexagonal wrench 
provided.
•Keep the removed parts carefully aside.
1.Connect the speaker cable (provided) to the ter-
minals . Refer to step 3 on page 6.
•Speaker cable (short, 4 m): For the front speaker
Speaker cable (long, 10 m): For the surround speaker
2.Remove the upper and lower covers from the back
of the speaker unit, and remove the two stopper
screws 
 from the lower cover.
•Unless wall-mounting the speaker, do not remove the stopper
screws. These screws determine the minimum height of the
speaker unit.
3.Fit the stand onto the speaker unit, and fix it in
place.
Loosen the two height adjusting bolts .Push the stand to the rear of the bottom part of the speaker
unit.
Tighten the two height adjusting bolts .
•Tighten the screws alternately and finally tighten them hard.

4.
Fit the bottom cover (provided) into the lower end
of the speaker unit.
Bring the cable out from the side of the bottom cover, and
then insert the bottom cover.
Fit the bottom cover into the speaker unit.
5.Apply the spacers (provided), and mount the
speaker on the wall.
•Apply the spacers to the two points beneath the cover as shown
in the illustration.
 When the screws are in this position, the speaker may drop off. Fit the speaker securely so the screws are in this position.
 Screw (not included)
Screw  the wood screw into a thick and hard part of the wall.
The surface must be able to support over 25 kg (55 lb.).
Assembling a wall-mounted speaker system as a stand
type
Return the speaker to the original condition by carrying out
the opposite procedure to the above.
•Insert the stopper screws 
 of step 2 above into the holes in the
speaker unit.
Assemble the speaker as a stand type. ( page 6)

Insérer les vis de réglage de hauteur à l’aide de la clé hexagonale

•Conserver soigneusement les pièces enlevées.

 du couvercle inférieur.•Sauf pour monter l’enceinte au mur, ne pas retirer les vis d’arrêt.
Elles servent à déterminer la hauteur minimale de l’enceinte.
3.Ajuster le support sur l’enceinte et la fixer en
place.
Desserrer les deux vis de réglage de hauteur .Pousser le support à l’arrière de la partie inférieure de
l’enceinte.
Serrer les deux vis de réglage de hauteur .
•Serrer les vis en alternance, puis les serrer à fond.

Installer le couvercle inférieur (fourni) sur
l’extrémité inférieure de l’enceinte.
Sortir le fil par le côté du couvercle inférieur, puis insérer le
couvercle inférieur en place.
Fixer le couvercle inférieur à l’enceinte.
5.Installer les entretoises (fournies), puis monter
l’enceinte au mur.
•Installer les entretoises aux deux endroits prévus sous le
couvercle.
 À cette position, l’enceinte risque de tomber. Fixer l’enceinte solidement à cette position.

Visser la vis à bois  dans une partie épaisse et solide du mur.
La surface doit pouvoir supporter plus de 25 kg (55 lb).

Remettre l’enceinte dans l’état dans lequel elle était à la
réception en inversant la marche à suivre ci-dessus.
•Insérer les vis d’arrêt 
 enlevées à l’étape 2 ci-dessus dans les
trous sur l’enceinte.

Assembly and Installation
Setup the center speaker (SB-PC100)
•Do not apply an unreasonable force to the net at the front of the
speaker unit. You cannot remove the front net.
•Lay the speakers on a flat surface over a soft cloth when working on
them.
•Tighten the screws firmly.
 Connect the speaker cable (provided) to the terminals .Be sure to connect only positive (copper) wire  to positive (+)
terminal and negative (silver) wire  to negative (–) terminal.
Press the spring lever to open the wire inlet, then insert the
lead before releasing the spring lever.
Never short-circuit positive (+) and negative (–) speaker wires.
 Attaching the rubber feet when placing on a surfaceAttach the rubber feet to the base of the speaker to prevent vibration
from causing the speaker to move or fall over.
 Attaching to a wall
Attach four rubber feet to the rear of the speaker. Screw (not included)
Screw  the wood screw into a thick and hard part of the wall.
The surface must be able to support over 10 kg (22 lb.).
Do not attach this speaker to walls or ceilings using methods other
than those described here.
Settings for connecting the recommended amplifier
to the active subwoofer
When using our SA-XR57 AV control receiver (not included)
First make the following settings.
•Refer to “Setting the Amplifier” in the instruction manual for the
SA-XR57 AV control receiver.

positive (+) et le fil négatif (argent)  à la borne négative (–).Pousser le levier pour ouvrir le passage du fil, puis insérer le
fil et relâcher le levier.
Ne jamais court-circuiter les fils positif (+) et négatif (–) du câble
d’enceinte.
 Fixation des pieds en caoutchouc lorsque l’enceinte
est posée sur une surface
Fixer les pieds en caoutchouc à la base de l’enceinte afin d’empêcher
que la vibration ne la déplace ou la fasse tomber.
 Fixation à un murFixer les quatre pieds en caoutchouc sur la paroi arrière de l’enceinte. Vis (vendue séparément)Insérer une vis à bois  dans une section épaisse et résistante du mur.La paroi murale doit pouvoir supporter plus de 10 kg (22 lb).
Ne pas fixer cette enceinte à un mur ou la suspendre par des méthodes
autres que celles décrites dans le présent manuel.
