16LSQT1562 Preparation Before using 2 Power supply ∫About batteries that you can use with this unit The battery that can be used with this unit is supplied battery/VW-VBJ10. ¬Rotate the mode dial to select OFF. Insert the battery until it clicks paying attention to the direction of the battery. ≥Be sure to set the mode dial to OFF and check that the status indicator is off before removing the battery. It has been found that counterfeit battery packs which look very similar to the genuine product are made available to purchase in some markets. Some of these battery packs are not adequately protected with internal protection to meet the requirements of appropriate safety standards. There is a possibility that these battery packs may lead to fire or explosion. Please be advised that we are not liable for any accident or failure occurring as a result of use of a counterfeit battery pack. 17LSQT1562 When this unit is purchased, the battery is not charged. Charge the battery before using this unit. ¬Rotate the mode dial to select OFF. The battery will not be charged if the power is turned on. 1Open the LCD monitor and then open the terminal cover. 2Connect the AC cable to the AC adaptor and the AC outlet. 3Connect the AC adaptor to this unit’s DC input terminal. ≥Do not use the AC cable with any other equipment as it is designed only for this unit. Also, do not use an AC cable from other equipment with this unit. ≥ We recommend using Panasonic batteries (VW-VBJ10). ≥ If you use other batteries, we cannot guarantee the quality of this product. ≥ Do not heat or expose to flame. ≥ Do not leave the battery(ies) in an automobile exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time with doors and windows closed. 18LSQT1562 ∫About charging errors If the status indicator does the following: Does not flash: Remove and reinsert the battery, and disconnect and reconnect the AC adaptor. Flashes rapidly at approx. 0.25 second intervals: The battery cannot be charged. Try doing the following. ≥Remove and reinsert the battery, and try recharging the battery. ≥ The battery temperature or surrounding temperature is too high/lo w, therefore wait until the unit and the battery are at suitable temperatures and try recharging the battery. Flashes slowly at approx. 3 second intervals: Charging requires time for the following reasons: ≥ The battery has been excessively discharged. ≥ The battery temperature or ambient temperature is too high/low. ∫ Connecting to the AC outlet If you turn on this unit while charging the battery using the AC adaptor, you can use the power supplied from the AC outlet to power the unit for use. (While it is in use, the battery will not be charged.) If the status indicator still does not flash, contact consumer support. Be aware that the operating time of the battery will become shorter in low temperatures. We recommend charging a spare battery for use when recording. ≥ The batteries heat up after use or charging. (This website is in English only.) http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/e_cam ≥ This unit supports SD Memory Cards formatted in FAT12 system and FAT16 system based on SD Memory Card Specifications and SDHC Memory Cards formatted in FAT32 system. ≥ If you wish to use Memory Cards that are 4 GB or more, only SDHC Memory Cards can be used. ≥ 4 GB or more Memory Cards that do not have the SDHC logo are not based on SD Memory Card Specifications. ≥ Use this unit to format SD cards.
