3 Preface Features The Network Disk Recorders WJ-ND300A series are designed for use within a surveillance system, and perform recordings and playbacks pictures from network cameras in the system. The network disk recorder is a recording device using a hard disk drive to record camera pictures instead of using video tapes so that pictures recorded by repeated overwriting will not experience deterioration of the recorded pic- ture quality. 8 Restrictions when operating MPEG-4 images There are following restrictions when MPEG-4 is selected for the image compression method on the setup menu (advanced) (NW camera setup under Camera). 1.
