Configure the network settings of the camera using the Panasonic IP setting software It is possible to perform the network settings of the camera using the IP setup software on the provided CD-ROM. When using multiple cameras, it is necessary to configure the network settings of each camera independently. If the Panasonic IP setting software does not work, configure the network settings of the camera and the PC individually on the "Network" page of the setup menu. Refer to the Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) for further informa-tion. Important: • When using Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows Vista, the "Windows Security Alert" window may be displayed when starting the IP setup software. In this case, disable "User Account Control" from the control panel. • For the security enhancement, the MAC address/IP address of the camera to be configured will not be displayed when around 20 minutes have passed after turning on the power of the camera. (When the effective period is set to "20min" in the IP setup) However cameras in the initial set mode are still displayed even after 20 minutes. • Panasonic IP setting software is inoperable in other subnets via the same router. • This camera cannot be displayed or set with an older version of the IP setup software (version 2.xx). z To start the Panasonic IP setting software, click the [Run] button next to [IP Setting Software] from the CD launcher menu window, or double-click on the shortcut icon created after installing the software on the PC. • The License Agreement will be displayed. Read the Agreement and choose "I accept the term in the license agree- ment", and click [OK]. x Click the [Network Settings] button after selecting the MAC address/IP address of the camera to be configured. Note: • When using a DHCP server, the IP address assigned to the camera can be displayed by clicking the [Search] button of the IP setting software. • When a duplicate IP address is used, the corresponding camera number will be displayed shaded. • When the [Access Camera] button is clicked, live images of the selected camera will be displayed. • It is possible to change the "Camera list" display between IPv4 addresses and IPv6 addresses in accordance with the protocol in use. • The information displayed can be sorted by clicking the title of each displayed item. Configure the network settings 31
c Complete each network setup item and click the [Save] button. Note: • When selecting "DHCP" or "AutoIP", it is possible to set "DNS" to "Auto". • By unchecking the "Wait for camera restarting." checkbox, multiple camer - as can be continuously configured. Important: • It may take for around 2 minutes to complete to upload the settings to the camera after clicking the [Save] button. The settings may be invalidated when the LAN cable is disconnected before completing the upload. In this case, perform the settings again. • When using a firewall (including software), allow access to all UDP ports. About the default user name and password Click the [Setup] button on the "Live" page, the user authentication window will be displayed. Enter the default user name and password as follows, and log in. User name: admin Password: 12345 Important: • To enhance the security, change the password for the user name "admin". It is recommended to change this password periodically. • To enhance the security of the "Live" page, it is possible to set authentication for the "Live" page by selecting "On" for "User auth.". Refer to the Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) for further information. 32
Troubleshooting Before asking for repairs, check the symptoms with the following table. Contact your dealer if a problem cannot be solved even after checking and trying the solution in th\ e table or a problem is not described below. SymptomCause/solutionReference pages Power is not turned on. When using a PoE+ device for power supply • Are the PoE+ (IEEE802.3at compliant) device and the RJ-45 female connector (cable integrated type) connected using a LAN cable (category 5e or better, STP*)? Check whether the connection is appropriately established. * E model only • Depending on the PoE+ device, the power supply will stop when the demanded power exceeds its total power limit for all PoE+ ports. Refer to the operating instructions of the PoE+ device in use. • When connecting both of the 24 V AC power supply and the PoE/ PoE+ device for power supply, the network connection may not be established. Turn down the power supply from the PoE/PoE+ device. 22 – 23 • Is the power cable connected firmly to power that meets the required specifications? Check whether the connection is appropriately established. 22 • Is the housing base attached to the camera firmly? Check if it is attached correctly and firmly. 20 The camera does not move to the preset positions accurately. • When the preset positions become inaccurate during use, it is possible to correct the positions by executing the position refresh function. In addition, when "Position refresh" is set for the created schedule, the camera position will be corrected periodically. In some situa- tions, reconfigure the preset positions. Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) When the camera is pan- ning/tilting, the camera stops panning/tilting and mechanical noise comes from the camera. • The camera position may have become inaccurate. Carry out the refresh position function from the [Default reset] tab of the "Maintenance" page of the setup menu. Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) The camera starts panning unpredictably. • This may be caused by noise. Check the exogenous noise level around the camera. 11 When the power is turned on, the live indicator lights or blinks orange. • Is the LAN cable connected appropriately? Connect the LAN cable appropriately. • Is the hub or router connected to the camera operating appropri- ately? Check if the hub or router in use is operating appropriately. • Isn't the LAN cable connected to the camera broken? Replace the cable with another one. 23 33
SymptomCause/solutionReference pages Live indicator keeps on blinking orange approx. in 2 seconds intervals. • UPnP TM error has occurred since the power is not supplied to the router. Turn on the power of the router. Wait until the connections are established. − • An error has occurred during the port update by the UPnP func- tion. If the router in use does not support the UPnP function, perform the port forwarding setting for the router. In addition, deactivate the setting of auto port forwarding for the camera. Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) • UPnP function of the router is disabled. Refer to the operating instructions of the router to enable the UPnP function. − Live indicator never lights up. • Is "Off" selected for "Link/Access LED" on the "Basic" page? Select "On" or "On(Access)" for the indicator setting. Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) Live indicator keeps on blinking red. • The camera may be out of order. Contact your dealer. • Refer to the readme file on the provided CD-ROM for further infor - mation after checking the displayed contents of the "Maintenance" page - the [Status] tab - "Self check" of the setup menu. − Live indicator lights red. • Isn’t the write protect switch of the inserted SDHC/SD memory card set to "LOCK"? Unlock the write protect switch of the SDHC/SD memory card. • Hasn't the inserted SDHC/SD memory card been formatted on a PC? Use an SDHC/SD memory card formatted on the camera. Or install the software to format the SDHC/SD memory card on the PC. Refer to our website (http://panasonic.net/pss/security/ support/info.html) for further information about the supported soft- ware. • Isn't the inserted SDHC/SD memory card faulty? Replace the card with a normal one. Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) Audio input contains noise. • Check the following. • Grounding of the camera, a switching hub or peripheral devices are not done. • The camera is used near an electrical power line. • The camera is used near a device which produces strong mag- netic field or radio waves (such as near a TV/radio antenna, a motor of an air conditioning system, a transformer, etc.) When audio input still contains noise even after checking the above possibilities, use a powered microphone or connect audio output with low output impedance. 12 The power cable insulation is damaged. The power cable and connectors are worn out. This may result in electric shock or a fire. Unplug the power cable from the AC outlet immediately, and refer to qualified service personnel. – The power cable, plug and connectors get hot during use. The power cable gets hot when bent or stretched. 34
