    Setting the auto talk feature)
    The auto talk feature allows you to answer a call by lifting the handset off the main unit without
    pressing  . This feature is set to “ON” as a default. If you want to view caller’s information
    on the display after lifting the handset, turn this feature OFF by programming. 
    The TALK indicator light must be off before programming.

    TONE button
    The  ( ) button is used for rotary pulse
    dial services and allows you to temporarily change
    from pulse to tone mode during a dialing
    operation.
    When you hang up, the unit will automatically
    return to the pulse mode.TONE

    The / button allows
    you to use special features of a host exchange (if
    connected) or local telephone company services
    such as call waiting. For further details, contact
    your host exchange supplier or local telephone

    in the JOG DIAL directory!
    For rapid access to frequently dialed numbers, the unit provides a JOG DIAL directory 
    (50 stations). 
    For your convenience, the following station has been pre-programmed.
    HELP-FAX (1-800-435-7329):If you cannot correct a problem after trying the help function 
    (p. 10), call using this station (p. 39).
    If you do not need the above station, you can erase it (p. 38).

    Caller ID
    Caller ID service from your phone company!
    This unit is compatible with the Caller ID service offered by your local telephone
    company. To use this feature, you must subscribe to Caller ID service.
    How Caller ID is displayed
    Set the following ring count settings to 2 or more rings beforehand.
    — TAD ring count and FAX ring count (feature #06 on page 83)
    — TEL/FAX ring count (feature #78 on page 88)
    Note:
    If the unit is connected to a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system, you may not receive the caller’s
    information. Consult your PBX supplier.
    If the unit cannot receive caller information, the unit will show the following.

    The caller requested not to send
    any information.

    of the call. You can view the caller’s information (p. 41, 42) and print the Caller ID list (p. 43).
