    							Manual Dialing and Receiving
    Using the handset
    For manual dialing operation, you can use the
    handset as it is,
    Hands-f ree
    oThe Speakerphone Indicator will light.
    PUSH SP.PHONE
    WHEN THECONVERSATIONIS COMPLETED..
    PUSH REDIAL
    WHEN THE LINEIS BUSY.
    I When using the handset;
    depressing the Redial button enables you to
    redial once.
    I When using in the hands-free mode;
    depressing the Redial button enables you to
    redial uo to 15 times within a 1O-minute
    period.
    To cancel, push the Flash button.
    oUp to 30 digits will be dialed when using the
    redial function.
    Push the Mute button when you do not want your
    voice or conversation to be heard by the other
    pany.

    Use in a room which has curtains or
    carpeting.
    I Note:
    lf you and the caller speak at the same time,
    parts of your conversation will be lost. To
    avoid this, speak alternately.

    							Automatic Dialing
    I Speed Dialing (20 memory stations):
    There are 20 memory stations (for Speed Dialing), each station is capable of storing 16 digits.
    Each memory station can be accessed by dialing two digits on the dial pad.
    I One-Touch Dialing (12 memory stations):
    There are 6 Direct Call buttons (for One-Touch Dialing), each Direct Call button consists of two functions,
    they are upper and lower memory locations. Each location (Upper+Lower) is capable of storjng
    16 digits.
    I Behind P.B.X.
    lf your extension is placed behind a PBX.
    system, enter the Line Access No. to gain
    access to an outside line.Be sure the handset is on the cradle and
    SP-PHONE button is off.

    For each station No., dial 2 digits.

    oPhone numbers can be stored into
    memory station @ E to @ @ following the

    To store the Phone number in succession,
    repeat step 2.
    I One-Touch Dialing
    Push the Direct Call button instead of
    dialing the station buttons..ln using the Upper memory location;
    PUSH..MEMORY
    .You may use the Direct Call button instead
    of dialing the station numbers.
    After storing allthe numbers,
    PUSH PROG.
    oThe Memory Indicator will go out.
    I You may use the Secret Memory button
    Instead of pushing the Memory button.
    (Refer to Voice Memo Check
    on page 7.)
    I Push the Lower button first for storing the
    number in the lower memory station.
    lf you notice an error before pressing the
    Memory button.

    							Repeat storing the same number into
    the same station.
    When the*D*,is pushed, the Memory
    Indicator will flash and a beep will
    be heard.

    .The entry is the same as what was
    previously stored.

    The entry is different from the one that was
    previously stored. Repeat the procedure of
    storing.

    station. lf you push the Lower button by
    mistake when you want to use the Upper
    station, you must hang up and then dial
    again.

    Be sure the handset is on the cradle and the
    SP-PHONE button is off.

    Whlle having a conversation, another
    telephone number can be stored Into the
    Memo button.
    So you can dialthe number by pushing the
    Memo button any time you like.
    oThis function is useful to store a telephone
    number, which is given to you by the otherparty.

    I lf you store the new phone number into
    memory using the Memo Dial feature, the
    previously stored number will be erased.
    The pause button function is needed for line
    access or computer tone.
    oRefer to Outside Line or Computer Accessed
    Line on page 8.
    Any combination of dialing methods can be
    done.

    unit is in Answer mode or during the Answer
    system power is off. This feature will not
    function in the other mode (such as In-use
    mode.)
    I The unit will announce only phone number
    stored and will not announce PAUSE,
    FLASH, # and )e.
    lf you want to change from pulse mode into
    tone mode during dialing, the Tone (f-{)TONE -
    button can be used instead of changing the
    Dialing Mode Selector.
    When you hang up, the Dialing Mode will be
    automatically return to pulse mode.

    The Pause button tunction in a dial operation is
    needed to gain access to an outside line or
    computer-accessed long distance services.
    I One pause is required for an outside
    dialtone.
    Example (PBX):
    ML Line access
    A pause is required lor manual dialing if the
    auto feature is used.
    I Two pauses are required for
    computer access tone.
    Example (MCl, SPRINT, etc.):

    The Flash button can be used for Call Waiting.
    For more details please see the brochufg-
    issued by your telephone company.
    While having a conversation,
    another party calls and a tone is
    heard. r

    oYou can speak to the second party and
    place the original party on hold.
    PUSH FLASH
    LIGHTLY AGAIN.
    oYou can speak to the original party again
    and place the second party on hold.
    o lf the calling party or called party on hold
    hangs up, the line is terminated.
    You may access some features of your PBX
    using the Flash button instead of the
    hookswitch.
    Push the Flash button lightly in a dial
    operation. Flash can be stored into
    memory in the same way as Storing Phone
    Numbers on page 5.
    Memory stations can be used to automatically
    access to features of your host PBX. Push theFlash button lightly at the position where the
    hookswitch operation is required in the dialing
    operation when programming into the
    memory station.

    oChanging the Dialing Mode Selector counts

    o Select the Callers Recording time and the Number of rings.
    o Recording time can be set to 1 mlnute, VOX or Announce.
    o Number of rings can be set to Once through 7 rings, or Auto,
    o Be sure the handset is on the cradle and SP-PHONE button is off.
    o Check one of the following on the panel sheet for your convenience.

    lf you call from a remote location and the unit
    does not pick up on the third ring, hang up.
    This means no calls have been recorded and
    you will not be required to pay toll charges.
    Pick up on theAt least one message has
    second ring: been recorded.
    lf does not No messages have been
    plck up on recorded. So hang up,
    the third ring:
    After you have played back all the
    messages from a remote phone;
    Pick up on the At least one new message
    second ring In has been recorded.
    the next call: The unit will announce the. number of the newly
    recorded messages.
    lf no pick up occurs on the third ring, no
    messages have been recorded.
