    1Connect the AC adaptor (supplied with DVD burner) to the DVD

    ≥You cannot supply power to the DVD burner from this unit.
    2Connect this unit to the AC adaptor and change the mode to  .

    Copying to discs
    ≥You cannot copy from multiple SD cards to 1 disc. (You can additionally copy only to a 
    DVD-RAM.)
    ≥ You cannot copy motion pictures together with st ill pictures or motion pictures in a different 
    picture quality (AVCHD picture quality and conventional normal picture quality) to the same 
    disc.
    ≥ iFrame scenes cannot be copied to disc. Copy to PC to make a backup. ( l110)

    When copying a scene in the built-in memory to a disc that includes a scene that was 
    relay-recorded, the continued scene that is on the SD card will be copied together to the 
    disc.
    1Connect this unit to the DVD burner to prepare for copying. ( l100)
    2Touch [BURN DISC].
    3Touch the desired items following the instructions on the screen.≥It will return to the previ ous step by touching  .
    ≥ (When [SELECT SCENES] is selected)
    When touched, the scene/still picture is selected and the   indication appears on the 
    thumbnail. Touch the scene/still pict ure again to cancel the operation.

    ≥ You may need more discs than displayed number of discs when you are copying 
    additionally to a used DVD-RAM.
    ≥ Eject the disc after copying is completed.
    ≥ When the copied disc is played back on another device and the list of scenes is displayed, 
    they are ordered by date.
    ∫ About recording formats when copying motion pictures
    [High Definition]:The images recorded in high definition pict ure quality with this unit are copied as they 
    are.
    [Standard] ([XP]/[SP]):Images are converted into the original standard picture quality and then copied.
    ≥ Since [XP] has a higher picture quality compared to [SP], the data capacity becomes 
    large so that you may need more  discs for copying than [SP].
    Before you delete the data on the media after copying is complete, be sure to play 
    back the discs to check that they have been copied to correctly. ( l104)

    Important Notice≥When connecting an optional DVD burner and this unit for copying a disc, do not 
    insert a disc with recorded motion pictures in high definition picture quality into 
    devices that do not support the AVCHD format. In some cases the disc may get 
    stuck in the device. The disc will not play back on devices that do not support the 
    AVCHD format.
    ≥ When inserting a disc containing recorded motion/still pictures into other 
    devices, a message prompting you to format the disc may be displayed. Do not 
    format the disc, since deleted data cannot be restored later.

    ≥The disc that was copied to can be played  back by connecting this unit and a DVD 
    burner.
    ≥ Do not turn off this unit or the DVD burner  or disconnect the USB Connection Cable while 
    copying. Also, do not shake this unit or the DVD burner.
    ≥ It is impossible to stop copying halfway.
    ≥ The order in which the scenes were copied cannot be changed.
    ≥ Data that has been recorded on another device may not be copied.
    ≥ When 2 or more discs are necessary for copying, the last scene copied to a disc is 
    automatically divided to fit the space on the disc.
    ≥ Copying may complete with more or less than the number of discs displayed when dividing 
    of scenes was performed automatically etc.
    ≥ For discs being copied using [Standard] ([XP])/[Standard] ([SP]), you cannot select 
    Highlight Playback and [HIGHLIGHT] or [FACE] of Highlight & Time Frame Index.
    ≥ The remaining copy time displayed while copying is the approximate time for a single disc.
    Playing back the copied disc
    ≥Only discs that have been copied by connecting this unit to the DVD burner or 
    created with HD Writer AE 3.0 can be played back.

    1Connect this unit to the DVD burner to prepare for playback. (l 100)≥When playing back on a TV, connect this unit to the TV. ( l92)
    2Touch the scene or still picture to be played back and then play it 
    back.
    ≥The playback operation is performed the same as when playing back motion pictures or

    Managing the copied disc
    ≥Connect this unit to the DVD burner and then touch [PLAY DISC]. ( l101)
    ∫ Formatting discs
    This is for initializing DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and +RW discs.
    Please be aware that if a disc is formatted, then all the data recorded on the disc will 
    be erased. Back up important data on a PC etc.
    ≥When formatting is complete, touch [EXIT] to exit the message screen.
    ≥Connect this unit and the DVD burner to format discs. 
    You may no longer be able to use the discs if you format them on another device such as a 
    PC etc.
    ∫ Auto protect
    You can protect (write protect) a DVD-RAM disc when copying motion pictures in high 
    definition picture quality or DVD-RW disc when copying motion pictures or still pictures in 
    high definition picture quality to the disc.
    1Select the menu.
    ≥If a disc that you copied to is inserted in another device without protecting it, a message 
    may be displayed prompting you to format the disc. We recommend setting [AUTO 
    PROTECT] to [ON] in order to prevent accidental deletion.

    ≥After copying, the disc is write-protected.
    To release the disc protection
    ≥Touch [EXIT] and close the message screen after the auto protection is released.
    ∫ Displaying disc information
    Information, such as the type of recorded disc, the number of recorded scenes and whether 
    or not the disc is finalized is displayed.

    Check the equipment used for dubbing.
    * Some equipment may not be compatible with high-definition (AVCHD) picture quality. In 
    such a case, connect with the AV multi cable and dub with standard picture quality. ( l109)
    ≥ For the positions of the SD card slot, USB terminal, or terminal for connecting the AV multi 
    cable, refer to the operating instructions of the equipment used.
    ≥ The iFrame scenes cannot be dubbed to SD cards or by connecting with the USB cable. To

    Dubbing in high-definition picture quality
    You can dub using a Panasonic Blu-ray disc recorder or high-definition (AVCHD) 
    compatible DVD recorder.
    ≥Depending on the recorders or the media to be copied to, you may not be able to 
    copy in high-definition (AVCHD) picture quality. For further details, see the 
    operating instructions of your recorder.
    ≥ Note that the equipment described may not be available in certain countries and 
    regions.

    4Dubbing through operations on the Blu-ray disc recorder or high-
    definition (AVCHD) compatible DVD recorder.

    Do not touch [CHANGE MEDIA] on the screen of the unit during dubbing.
    ≥ Do not use any other USB cables except the supplied one. (Operation is not guaranteed 
    with any other USB cables.)
    ≥ When this unit is connected to a Panasonic Blu-ray disc recorder or a DVD recorder using 
    a USB cable while the unit is turned on, power is also supplied from the connected 
    equipment to this unit.
    ≥ For details on dubbing and playback methods, read the operating instructions of the 
    Blu-ray disc recorder or DVD recorder.
    ≥ When you connect the unit to a Blu-ray disc recorder, a dubbing operations screen may 
    appear on the television connected to the Blu-ray disc recorder. In this case as well, 
    perform the operations of steps 1 to 4.
    ≥ You cannot change the mode of the unit or turn off the unit while it is connected to a Blu-ray 
    disc recorder or DVD recorder. Disconnect the USB cable before performing either of these 
    operations.
    ≥ If the battery runs down during dubbing, a message will appear. Operate the Blu-ray disc 
    recorder to cancel the dubbing.
    About the screen indication of the unit
    ≥When the unit is accessing the SD card, card access icon ( ) appears on the unit 
    screen or the access lamp is on.
    ≥  When the unit is accessing the built-in memory, built-in memory access icon ( ) 
    appears on the unit screen or the access lamp is on.
    ≥  When the unit is accessing the HDD, HDD access icon ( ) appears on the unit 
    screen or the HDD access lamp is on.
    ≥ Be careful not to disconnect the USB cable, AC adaptor or battery while the unit is 
    accessing the media, as this may result in the loss of recorded content.

    3Start recording on the connected device.
    ≥To stop recording (dubbing), stop playback on this unit after stopping recording on the

    Dubbing in standard picture quality
    If the dubbed images are played back on a wide-screen TV, the images may be stretched 
    vertically.
    In this case, refer to the operating instruction for the device you are connecting to or read 
    the operating instructions of the wide-screen TV and set the aspect ratio to 16:9.
