This function allows you to select how to display images with a  16:9 aspect ratio on a TV with a 4:3 
aspect ratio.
Selects the sound heard through the headphones.
≥ When this unit is connected to a TV using the HDMI cable (suppl ied), audio at the time of the 
[RECORDING] setting is output even if this setting is set to [L IVE].
If you set this item to [ON], you can adjust the headphone volu me in Recording Mode using the

≥ Please be aware that if a medium is formatted, then all the dat a recorded on the medium will be 
erased and cannot be restored. Back up important data on a PC e tc. (l93)
The used space and remaining recordable time of the SD card can  be checked.
≥ Touching [CHANGE MEDIA] switches the unit between the display for the SD card 1 and the 
display for the SD card 2.
≥ Only in Recording Mode, remaining recordable time for the selec ted recording format is 
displayed.
≥ Touch [EXIT] to close the indication.
≥The SD card requires some space to store information and manage  system files, so the actual 
usable space is slightly less than the indicated value. The usa ble space is generally calculated as 
1 GB=1,000,000,000 bytes. The capacities of this unit, PCs and s oftware are expressed as 
1GB=1,024 k1,024 k1,024=1,073,741,824 bytes. Therefore, the indicated value of th e capacity 
appears to be smaller.
The recording lamp lights up during recording. When this is set  to [OFF], it does not light during 
recording.

The ring LED lights up blue in Recording Mode.
≥When [5 SEC.] is set, the ring LED lights up for 5 seconds after  the unit is turned on or the 
Recording Mode is switched.
≥ When [RING LED (RED)] is set to [ON], the ring LED does not lig ht up blue during recording.
The ring LED lights up red during recording.
≥ When the [REC LAMP] is set to [OFF], this item cannot be set.

Set the time difference from Greenwich Mean Time. ( l27)
Set the system frequency of this  unit. Change the setting when creating a motion picture that has a 
broadcasting system different from that of your region.
≥ After you have changed the syst em frequency, this unit will be restarted.
≥By default, the system frequency is set to the broadcasting sys tem of the region where this 
product was purchased.
≥ This function’s default setting is [59.94Hz(NTSC)].
≥ When [SYSTEM FREQ] is set to a broadcasting system different from that of your region, 
images may not be played back correctly on the TV.
≥ If you are not familiar with broadcasting systems, we recommend  that you use the default 
setting.
≥ When recording with [REC MODE] set to [AVCHD], you cannot recor d scenes of different system 
frequencies into a single SD card. Use a different SD card for  each system frequency.

When about 5 minutes have passed without any operation, this uni t automatically turns off to save 
battery life.
≥ This unit will not automatically turn off even if the [ECONOMY (BATT)] is set to [ON] in following 
cases:
jWhen [USB MODE] ( l161 ) is set to [DEVICE] and this unit is connected to a PC or Blu- ray 
disc recorder with a USB Connection Cable.
j PRE-REC is used
j During remote operation
When connected to AC adaptor about 15 minutes have passed withou t any operation, this unit 
automatically turns off.
≥ This unit will not automatically turn off even if the [ECONOMY (AC)] is set to [ON] in following 
cases:
jWhen [USB MODE] ( l161 ) is set to [DEVICE] and this unit is connected to a PC or Blu- ray 
disc recorder with a USB Connection Cable.
j PRE-REC is used
j During remote operation
The menu settings, Wi-Fi settings or [CUSTOMIZE SCENE] are rese t to the default. (l132 )
