- 152 - Using the [Wi-Fi Easy Setup] to set up a connection With the smartphone application “Image App”, you can transfer the following information between the smartphone and this unit by using the NFC or QR code function. * Acquire a Login ID and Password for the “LUMIX CLUB” on this unit in advance. ≥Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartphone. ( l150) ∫ If the device is Android (NFC-compatible) ≥Set the NFC function of the smartphone to ON. 1Press Wi-Fi button and touch [Wi-Fi Setup]. 2Touch [Wi-Fi Easy Setup].≥Touch [YES]. 3Start up the smartphone application “Image App”. 4Touch the smartphone on of this unit.≥The setup screen is displayed on the smartphone. 5Follow the on-screen instructions of the smartphone to set up a connection.≥When the settings is complete, the smartphone and this unit are connected directly, allowing you to use remote operations. We recommend you connect with the strongest possible Encryption method. ≥ When the signal of the wireless access point is weak, a connection may not be established. Refer to “Messages” ( l184) and “Troubleshooting” ( l186) for details. ≥ Transmission speed may decrease, or may not be usable depending on the environment it is used in.

- 159 - Connecting from the history Each use of a Wi-Fi function is stored in the Wi-Fi connection history. Connecting from the history allows you to easily set up a connection using the previous connection settings. 1Press Wi-Fi button and touch [History]. 2Touch the desired item to be connected.≥The history of Wi-Fi functions and connection destinations that have been used is displayed as a list. ≥ For periods when a smartphone, etc. and this unit were connected directly, only the list of Wi-Fi functions is displayed. ≥ To display the connection details, touch [DETAIL]. 3Touch [ENTER].≥When the connection is complete, a message will be displayed and the screen will switch to the Wi-Fi function screen selected in step 2. Perform the operation of the selected Wi-Fi function. ≥ If you have selected [Link to Cell], start up the smartphone application “Image App” after checking that “Under smartphone control.” is displayed on the LCD monitor. If the connection cannot be established, check the Wi-Fi setup of the smartphone. ≥The history can store up to 8 most-recently used Wi-Fi connections. ≥ If you set up a Wi-Fi connection from [Wireless Settings] in [Wi-Fi Setup], the Wi-Fi connection will not be stored in the history. If the Wi-Fi connection cannot be established ProblemCheck points It cannot connect to the wireless access point. The wireless access point is not detected. (General) ≥ Turn ON the wireless access point. ≥ Approach the wireless access point and reconnect. ≥ If it takes time to complete the connection, the Wi-Fi connection will be aborted. Reset the connection settings. ≥ Check how to connect to the wireless access point and how to set the security settings. ≥ Make sure the wireless access point is registered in this unit. (l 162 ) ≥ The device may be unable to locate the wireless access point due to problems with the signal. Refer to “Setting up a connection manually”. ( l155 ) ([WPS Connection]) ≥ Make sure the wireless access point is in the correct WPS standby mode. ≥ Make sure the PIN code has been correctly input. ([Search for wireless network] or [Manual Setting]) ≥ Make sure the SSID and Password have been correctly input. ≥ Check the Authentication method, Encryption type, and Encryption key (Password). Radio waves of the wireless access point get disconnected. ≥ The condition may improved by moving the location or changing the angle of the wireless access point. ≥ If you use another 2.4 GHz band device such as a microwave oven or cordless telephone nearby, you may interrupt the signal. Keep a sufficient distance from these types of devices. The Wi-Fi connection is not possible between this unit and a smartphone. (Wireless Access Point Connection) ≥ Make sure the smartphone is properly connected to the wireless access point by checking the Wi-Fi settings of the smartphone. ≥ Make sure this unit and the smartphone are connected to the same wireless access point. ≥ Make sure the wireless access point is registered in this unit. (l 162 ) (Direct Connection) ≥ Make sure the smartphone is properly connected to this unit by checking the Wi-Fi settings of the smartphone. ≥ Make sure the SSID and Password have been correctly input. ≥ Make sure the smartphone is not connected to the wireless access point. If it is connected to the wireless access point, change the Wi-Fi access point using the smartphone’s Wi-Fi set up.
