- 41 - ∫ Intelligent Auto Mode When switching to Intelligent Auto Mode, the Automatic White Ba lance and Auto Focus operate and automatically adjust the color balance and focusing. Depending on the brightness of the subject etc., the aperture a nd shutter speed are automatically adjusted for an optimum brightness. ≥ Color balance and focus may not be adjusted automatically depen ding on light sources or scenes. If so, manually adjust these settings. - 46 - Endless Loop Recording ≥Insert an SD card. ≥ Change the Recording Mode to . ( l39) 1 Select sound in loop recording setting. 2 Start recording. ≥Once you start recording, the scene will be automatically divid ed every 2 minutes. The divided scenes will be saved in the SD card. (Each time you use Endless Loop Recording, a set of up to 30 scenes will be saved.) ≥ When the period between the time you start recording and the ti me you stop recording is longer than 1 hour (approximate), only the last 1 hour (approximate) par t up to the end of the recording will be saved. The part before the 1 hour part will be deleted. ≥ Recording stops automatically when approximately 24 hours have passed since the start of the recording. ≥ During recording, the blinks. ≥ The remaining recordable time and elapsed recording time are no t displayed. - 48 - White Balance Automatic White Balance function may not reproduce natural colors depending on the scenes or lighting conditions. If so, you can adjust the White Balance ma nually. ≥ Switch to Manual Mode. ( l47) 1To u c h [ W B ] . 2Touch / to select White Balance Mode.≥Touch [WB] to select the mode. ≥ To return to auto setting, set to or change the Recording Mode to the Intelligent Auto Mode. ( l39) ∫ To set the White Balance manually 1 Select , fill the screen with a white subject. 2 Touch and set the blinking . ≥When the screen turns black instantly and the display stops flashing and then lights constantly, the setting is complete. ≥ If the display continues flashing, the White Balance cannot be set. In this case, use other White Balance Modes. ≥If you turn on the unit with the lens cover closed, the Auto Wh ite Balance will not be performed correctly. Always open the lens cover before turning on the uni t. ≥ When the display flashes, the Manual White Balance previously adjusted is stored. - 49 - Manual shutter speed/iris adjustment Shutter Speed: Adjust it when recording fast-moving subjects. Iris: Adjust it when the screen is too bright or too dark. ≥Switch to Manual Mode. ( l47) 1Touch [SHTR] or [IRIS]. 2Touch / to adjust settings.≥Touch [SHTR]/[IRIS] to end the adjustment. : Shutter speed: 1/60 to 1/8000 ≥ If [AUTO SLOW SHTR] is set to [ON], the shutter speed will be s et between 1/30 and 1/8000. ≥ The shutter speed closer to 1/8000 is faster. ≥ The shutter speed will be set between 1/2 and 1/2000 in Still P icture Recording Mode. : Iris/Gain value: CLOSE !# (F16 to F2.0) !# OPEN !# (0dB to 18dB) ≥ Value closer to CLOSE darken the image. ≥ Value closer to 18dB brighten the image. ≥ When the iris value is adjusted to brighter than OPEN, it chang es to the gain value. ≥ To return to auto setting, change the Recording Mode to the Int elligent Auto Mode. (l39) ≥When setting both the shutter speed and the iris/gain value, se t the shutter speed and then set the iris/gain value. Manual shutter speed adjustment ≥ When the shutter speed is set lower than 1/15 in the Still Pict ure Recording Mode, using a tripod is recommended. The shutter speed will be set to 1/30 when the unit is turned on again. ≥ You may see a band of light around an object that is shining ve ry bright, or highly reflective. ≥ During normal playback, image movement may not look smooth. ≥ If you record an extremely bright object or record under indoor lighting, color and screen brightness may change or a horizontal line may appear on the sc reen. In this case, record in the Intelligent Auto Mode or set the shutter speed to 1/60 in areas where the power supply frequency is 60 Hz, or 1/100 in areas of 50 Hz. ≥ Brightness of the image displayed on the LCD monitor may be dif ferent from brightness of the image actually recorded during the Still Picture Recording Mode . Confirm the image on the playback screen after recording. - 50 - Manual Focus adjustment If auto focusing is difficult due to the conditions, then use Manual Focus. ≥ Switch to Manual Mode. ( l47) 1(When MF assist function is used)Select the menu. ≥Touch to display the Manual icon. 2Touch [FOCUS]. 3Touch [MF] to change to Manual Focus.≥MF appears on the screen. 4Adjust the focus by touching / . The in-focus area is displayed in blue.
