(l61) ∫ About the zoom bar The zoom bar is displayed during the zoom operation. ∫About the zoom speed ≥The zoom speed varies depending on the range over which the zoo m lever is moved. ≥ The zoom operation using the zoom button icons will be performe d at a constant speed respectively. Zoom ratio during the Still Picture Recording Mode The zoom ratio can be expanded up to 100 k without degrading the picture quality for the Still Picture Recording Mode. (Extra Optical Zoom) ≥ Maximum zoom ratio in Still Picture Recording Mode varies depen ding on the setting of [PICTURE SIZE]. ( l67) ≥If you take your finger off the zoom lever during zoom operatio n, the operation sound may be recorded. When returning the zoom lever to the original positio n, move it quietly. ≥ When the zoom magnification is at its maximum, the subjects are focused at about 2.2 m (7.2 feet) or more. ≥ When the zoom magnification is 1 k, this unit can focus on a subject approx. 2 cm (0.8 q) away from the lens. - 40 - Intelligent Auto The following modes (appropriate for the condition) are set just by pointing the unit to what you want to record. *1 In Motion Picture Recording Mode only *2 In Still Picture Recording Mode only ≥ Depending on the recording conditions, the unit may not enter t he desired mode. ≥ In the Portrait, Spotlight, or Low Light Mode, the face will be surrounded by a white frame when detected. In the Portrait Mode, a subject that is bigger and close to center of the screen will be surrounded by an orange frame. ( l62) ≥ Using a tripod is recommended in Night Scenery Mode. ≥ Faces cannot be detected depending on the recording conditions, such as when faces are of certain sizes or at certain tilts or when digital zoom is used. ModeEffect Portrait Faces are detected and focused automatically, and the brightnes s is adjusted so it is recorded clearly. Scenery The whole landscape will be recorded vividly without whiting ou t the background sky, which may be very bright. *1Spotlight Very bright object is recorded clearly.*1Low LightIt can record very clearly even in a dark room or twilight.*2Night SceneryYou can record night scenery vividly by slowing the shutter spe ed.*2MacroThis allows recording at very close proximity to the object of recording.*1 *2Normal NormalIn modes other than those described above, the contrast is adju sted to give a clear picture.
