5 PREFACE The Digital Disk Recorders WJ-HD316/309 are designed for use within a surveillance system and are a combination of a hard disk recorder and a video multiplexer (16-input for the WJ-HD316, 9-input for the WJ-HD309). The digital hard disk recorder is a recording device using a hard disk drive to record camera pictures instead of using videotapes so that pictures recorded by repeated overwrit- ing will not cause deterioration of the recorded picture qual- ity.
