Using the Playback Zoom
1Rotate the zoom lever towards 
[ ] to enlarge the picture.
 When you rotate the zoom lever towards 
[ ] after the picture is enlarged, the 
magnification becomes lower. When you

Deleting Pictures
When a card is not inserted, the picture 
data in the built-in memory will be deleted. 
When a card is inserted, the picture data in 
the card will be deleted. (P20)
∫To delete a single picture
1Select the picture to be deleted.
2: Play back the previous picture.
 1: Play back the next picture.
2 Delete the picture.
 While deleting the picture, [ ] appears 
on the screen.

 It is possible to delete up to 50 pictures 
all at once.

2Delete all of the pictures.
 When you delete all pictures, only 
pictures in either of the built-in memory 
or the card can be deleted. (You cannot 
delete pictures in both the built-in 
memory and the card at the same 
time.)
 Once deleted, pictures cannot be 
recovered. Please double-check before 
deleting pictures.

Using the Mode Dial
In economy mode, the camera reduces the 
brightness of the LCD monitor and works 
as follows to reduce the battery power 
consumption. On other operations in this 
mode, the camera works the same as the 
normal picture mode [ ].
Refer to P24 for settings.
Conditions:
 When 15 seconds passed without any operation.
 When 5 seconds passed without any  operation after taking a picture. (Effective 
only when [ECONOMY]...

This mode allows you to record motion 
images.
1Select [MOTION RATE].
 [10fps]:
Recording motion images for a longer 
time is available though the quality will 
be less than the quality recorded at 
[30fps]. The file size is smaller, so the 
files are suitable to be attached to 
e-mails.
 [30fps]: The motion of the recorded image is 
smooth, but the file size is large.
 fps (frame per second); This refers to  the number of frames used in 1 second.

 The recordable time is an approximation.
 The picture size is fixed to  320 k240 pixels.
 The motion images cannot be recorded 
with audio.
 If using a MultiMediaCard, after recording 
motion images, the card access indication 
may appear for a while, but this is not a 
malfunction. The file is being loaded to the 
MultiMediaCard.
 The settings of auto focus/zoom/aperture  values are fixed to what they are when

Set the mode dial to the scene mode to 
display the scene menu.
When [SCENE MENU] on the [SETUP]

distant subject preferentially.
 The focus range is 5 m (16.4 feet) –¶.

be recorded with brightness in real life by 
using the flash and slowing down the 
shutter speed.
