3 1Safety Precautions •Read the following “SAF ETY PRECAUTIONS” ca refully before pe rform any servicing. •Electrical wo rk mu st be installed or serviced by a licensed elec trician. Be sure to use the correct rating of the po wer plug and main circuit for the model installed. •The caution items stated here must be followed be cause these important contents are rela ted to safety. The me aning of each in d ication used is as be low. Incorrect installation or servicing due to igno ring of the instru ction will ca use harm or damage, and the seriou sness is classified by the fo llow ing indications. •The items to be follo wed are classified by the symbo ls: • Carry out test running to confirm that no ab normality occurs after the se rvicing. T hen, expla in to user the op eration, care and mai nten ance as stated in instructions. Please remind the customer to ke ep the ope rating in structions for fu ture refere nce. This indication shows the p ossibility of causing death or serious injury. This indication shows the p ossibility of causing injury or damage to pr operties. T his symbol denotes item that is PROHIBIT ED f rom doing. 1. Engage dealer or sp ecialist for installat ion and serv icing. If installat ion or servicing done by the us er is defective, it wi ll cause water leakage, electrical shock o r fire. 2.Install accord ing to this installation instru ction strictly . If installation is defective, it will cause water leakage, electrical shock or fir e. 3.Use the attac hed accessories parts and s pecified parts for instal lation and serv icing. Other wise, it will cause the set to fall, w ater leakage, fire o r electr ical shock. 4.Install at a st rong and firm location which is able to withstand t he set’s weight. If the str ength is not enough or installat ion is notproperly done, the set will dr op and cause injury. 5.F or electrical work, follow the local nation al wiring standar d, re gulation and the installation instruction. An independent circuit and single outlet must be used. If electrical ci rcuit capacity is not e nough or defec t found in electrical work, it will cause electr ical shock or fire. 6.Use the specified cable and conn ect tight ly for indoor/outdoor connection. C onnect tightly and c lamp the c able so that no extern alfo rce will be acted on the t erminal. If conn ection or fixing is not per fect, it will cause heat- up or fire at the connectio n. 7. Wire routing must be pr oper ly arranged so that control bo ard cover is fixed pr operly. If cont rol board cover is not fixed per fectly, it will cause heat- up or fire at the connection point of terminal, fire or electrical shock. 8. When conne cting the piping, do n ot allow air or any s ubstances ot her than the specified refrigerant to enter the refrigeration cyc le. Ot he rwise, this may lower t he cap acity, cause abnorma lly high pr essure in the refriger ation cycle, and p ossibly result in explosion and injury. 9 . It is desir able that the amount of resid ual oil is less than 40 mg/10m. 10.Do not modify the length of the power supply cord or use of the exte nsion cor d, and do n ot share the single outlet with other electr ical ap pliances. Ot herwise, it will cause fire or electrical shock. 11 .After comple tion of the installation serv icing confirm there is no leak age of refr igerant gas. It may generate toxic gas when the refriger a nt contacts with fire. 12 .V entilate if there is r efrigerant gas leakage during operation. It may cause toxic gas when the refr igerant contacts with fir e. 1.T he equipment must be earthed. It may cause el ectrical shock if grounding is n ot perfect. 2.Do not install the unit at place where leakage of flammable gas may occur. In case gas leaks and accum ulates at surround ing of the unit, it may cause f ire. 3.Carry out drainage piping as me ntioned in installa tion instructions. If dr ainage is not perfect, water may enter the room and damagethe furniture.
4 4. Pb free solder has a higher melting point than standard solder; typically the melting point is 50 - 70°F (30 - 40°C) higher. Please use a high temperature solder iron. In case of the soldering iron with temperature control, please set it to 700 ± 20°F (370 ± 10°C). Pb free solder will tend to splash when heated too high (about 1100°F / 600°C). 5. Tighten the flare nut with torque wrench according to specified method. If the flare nut is over-tightened, after a long period, the flare may break and cause refrigerant gas leakage. 6. Do not touch outdoor unit air inlet and aluminium fin. It may cause injury. AT T E N T I O N 1. Selection of the installation location. Select an installation location which is rigid and strong enough to support or hold the unit, and select a location for easy maintenance. 2. Power supply connection to the conditioner. Connect the power supply cord of the air conditioner to the mains using one of the following methods. Power supply point shall be the place where there is ease for ease for access for the power disconnection in case of emergency. In some countries, permanent connection of this room air conditioner to the power supply is prohibited. 1. Power supply connection to the receptacle using a power plug. Use an approved power plug with earth pin for the connection to the socket. 2. Power supply connection to a circuit breaker for the permanent connection. Use an approved circuit breaker for the permanent connection. It must be a double pole switch with a minimum 3.5 mm contact gap. 3. Do not release refrigerant during piping work for installation, servicing, reinstallation and during repairing a refrigeration parts. Take care of the liquid refrigerant, it may cause frostbite. 4. Installation work. It may need two people to carry out the installation work. 5. Do not install this appliance in a laundry room or other location where water may drip from the ceiling, etc.
