    ●Cleaning (CLEANING)
With CLEANING in the ON position, the camera’s built-
in electromechanical contacts are cleaned at regular
    intervals (approx. every 7 days).
A dry contact adversely affects picture quality and
    motors operation.
    1. Move the cursor to CLEANING and select ON or
    OFF with the joystick.
ON:The contacts are cleaned for approx. 1 minute.
    CLEANING disappears when the cleaning
    process is completed.
    OFF:No contact cleaning.
    Note:
To download or upload preset data to the system
controller, set the cleaning function to “OFF”. If
the cleaning function is activated during the
uploading or downloading process, the upload-
    ing or downloading fails.
    ●Electronic Zoom (EL-ZOOM)

    220-fold zoom.
    1. Move the cursor to EL-ZOOM and select ON or OFF
with the joystick, and then press the CAM (SET) but-

    Important Notices:
•The motion detection should meet the following con-
    ditions.
    1) The picture size on the screen should be larger
than 1/48 of the actual picture size.
    2) The contrast ratio between the object and the
background picture should be more than 5 % at
    the maximum detection level.
    3) The time that takes the object to move from one
end of the screen to the other should be more
    than 0.1 second.
•Also under the following conditions, mask or adjust
the detection level to prevent malfunction.
    1) When leaves, curtains, etc. are swayed by the
    wind.
    2) When a picture has a high noise content due to
    low light conditions.
    3) When the object is illuminated by lighting equip-
ment that constantly turns on and off.
•The alarm signal will take approx. 0.2 seconds to
reach the alarm terminal of the VCR after the camera
    detects the object.
Because the alarm signal is multiplexed on the
video signal, it may be mistakenly interpreted by
other video equipment as a time code signal.
Therefore, when this camera is not used in a
Panasonic Intelligent CCTV System, select OFF to
    prevent the above from occurring.
