TV 31 VQT2W18 All connected equipment compatible with “HDAVI Control”, including this unit, automatically turns off when you switch the television off. Playing music continuously even after turning off the TV (When the unit is connected to a Panasonic TV (VIERA) that supports HDAVI Control 2 or later.) (Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD only) ≥“Auto” is effective only when playing Dolby TrueHD. Digital Audio Output Press [OK] to show the following settings: Digital Audio Input Press [OK] to show the following settings: Downmix Select the downmix system to enjoy multi-channel or 2-channel sound. ≥Select “Surround encoded” to enjoy the surround sound. ≥ There is no downmix effect on the bitstream audio signal. ≥ The audio will be output in “Stereo” in the following cases: – AVCHD playback – Playback of secondary audio (including the button click sound). 7.1ch Audio Reformatting Surround sound with 6.1ch or less is automatically expanded and played back at 7.1ch. ≥ If “Off” is selected, sound is played over the original number of channels (Note that in the case of 6.1ch audio, playback will be at 5.1ch.) Audio reformatting is enabled in the following cases: ≥ When you have selected “PCM” in “Digital Audio Output”. ≥ When the audio is Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD or LPCM. High Clarity Sound When connected to TV via the HDMI AV OUT terminal for outputting image, it produces clearer sound. ≥Set to “Enable” and then set “High Clarity Sound” on the Playback menu to “On”. ( >35) Audio Delay Mis-sync between the video and audio is corrected by delaying the audio output. Speaker Refer to page 40 Status Messages Choose whether to show status messages automatically. On-screen Language Choose the language for menus and on-screen messages. Screen Saver Function This is to prevent burn-in on the screen. ≥When this is set to “On”: If there is no operation for 5 minutes or more, DIRECT NAVIGATOR screen switches to START menu automatically. ≥ While playing and pausing, etc., this function is not available. ≥ While playing music (CD-DA or MP3), after about 5 minutes DIRECT NAVIGATOR screen switches to a blank screen with “Screen Saver” message. FL Display Changes the brightness of the unit’s display. ≥If “Auto” is selected, the display is dimmed but brightens when you perform some operations. FL Control (Vol 0) ≥If “On” is selected, the unit’s display will turn off when the volume is adjusted to “0”. License Information about the software used by this unit is displayed. 3D Type Select the format of the connected TV. ≥Change the settings for 3D on the TV also when “Checker board” or “Side by side” is selected. TV Aspect Set to match the type of television connected. When connected to a 4:3 aspect television and playing 16:9 ratio image: Audio Dolby D/Dolby D +/Dolby TrueHD DTS/DTS-HD Select the audio signal to output . ≥Select “PCM ”, when the connected equipment cannot decode the respective audio format. ≥ Not making the proper settings may result in noise. BD-Video Secondary Audio Select whether to mix or not mix the primary audio and secondary audio (including the button click sound). ( >25) ≥ If “Off” is select ed, the unit outputs t he primary audio only. PCM-FIX Select the audio signal to input .≥ “On”: PCM is available. ≥ “Off”: PCM and Dolby Digital are available. Select “On” if the sound is cut off intermittently. Display TV / Device Connection 4:3The sides are cut off so the picture fills the screen. When playing BD-Video, video is output as “4:3 Letterbox”. 4:3 LetterboxBlack bands appear at the top and bottom of the picture. HDMI Resolution The items supported by t he connected devices are indicated on the screen as “ ¢”. When any item without “ ¢” is selected, the images may be distorted. ≥ If “Auto” is selected, automatically selects the output resolution best suited to the connected television. ≥ To enjoy high-definition vide o up-converted to 1080p, you need to connect the unit directly to 1080p compatible HDTV (High Definition Television). If this unit is connected to an HDTV through other equipment, it must also be 1080p compatible. 24p Output When this unit is connected to a TV supporting 1080/24p output using an HDMI cable, movies and other material recorded at 24p are output at 24p. ≥ When playing DVD-Video, set to “On” and then also set “24p” in “Video” ( >35) to “On”. ≥ When BD-Video images other than 24p are played, images are output at 60p. HDMI Color Mode This setting is for selecting color-space conversion of the image signal when the unit is connected using an HDMI cable. HDMI Audio Output This setting selects whether or not to output audio from HDMI. ≥ Audio will be output through the systems speakers when Off is selected. VIERA Link Set to use “HDAVI Control” function when connected with an HDMI cable to a device that supports “HDAVI Control”. ≥ Select “Off” when you do not want to use “HDAVI Control”. Deep Color Output This setting is for selecting whether to use Deep Color output when a television that supports Deep Color is connected. Contents Type Flag Depending on the playback content, the TV will output adjusting to the optimal method when a TV that supports this function is connected. Power Off Link Select the desired power off link setting of this unit for VIERA Link operation ( >31). (This works depending on the settings of the connected VIERA Link “HDAVI Control” compatible equipment.) Video/Audio: When the TV is turned off, this unit will turn off automatically. Press [OK] to show the following settings: Remote Control Code Change the remote control code, when other Panasonic products react to this remote control. Quick Start* Speed of startup from power off is increased. ≥ Internal control unit will be powered when it is set to “On”, so contents of the following will be different from the time it is set to “Off”. – Idle power consumption will increase. (about the power consumption >48) * Depending on the power conserving setting activated on the TV, this function may have less effect when the unit is started by the power on link function. ( >30) Easy setup ( >18) You can execute basic settings to optimize your home theater system. Restore Default Settings This returns all values in the Setup menu and the Playback menu, except for “Remote Control Code”, “LAN Connection Mode”, “Access Point Connection Setting”, “IP Address / DNS Settings”, “Proxy Server Settings”, “Lock”, “DVD-Video Ratings” and “BD-Video Ratings” etc. to the default settings. System Information Display the following items: – Firmware version of this unit –[BTT750] Wireless LAN module of supplied Wireless LAN Adaptor – [BTT350] Wireless LAN module of optional Wireless LAN Adaptor Firmware Update ( >20) Press [OK] to show the following settings: Network LAN Connection Mode Select connection method. Access Point Connection Setting This allows the Wireless router (Access point) and connection settings to be set and the current connection settings and connection state to be checked when a wireless connection is used. Connection Setting The Wireless router (Access point) connection wizard will be displayed. IP Address / DNS Settings This is for checking the state of the network connection and setting the IP address and DNS-related. Press [OK] to show the respective setting. ≥ “Connection Speed Setting” is enabled only when “Auto Detect Connection Speed” is turned “Off”. Proxy Server Settings This is for checking the state of connection with the Proxy server and performing settings. Press [OK] to show the respective setting. Internet Content Settings ( >33) (VIERA CAST) Press [OK] to show the following settings: Lock You can restrict the usage of VIERA CAST. ≥ Follow the on-screen instructions. Enter the 4-digit password with the number buttons when the password screen is shown. Audio Auto Gain Control Volume that is different depending on the contents is adjusted automatically to the standard volume while using the VIERA CAST. ≥ Depending on contents, this function effect will not work. ≥ Select “Off” when the audio is warped. Time Zone By selecting the time zone, it is possible to set the unit’s time to match your location. ≥ Some VIERA CAST contents require the time zone to be set. Set the time zone if necessary. DST Select “On” when using Daylight Saving time. MAC Address Displays the MAC address of this unit. Others Automatic Update Check When this equipment remains connected to the Internet, it will check for the latest firmware version when it is turned on and you can update it if necessary. 40 VQT2W18 Delay time For optimum listening with 5.1-channel sound, all the speakers, except for the subwoofer, should be the same distance from the seating position. If either distance A or B is less than C (> below), find the difference in the relevant table and adjust the delay time to make up for the difference. 1Press [ 3,4, 2,1] to select the distance box ( ) and press [OK]. e.g., 5.1ch setting e.g., 7.1ch setting 2Press [ 3,4] to select the setting and press [OK]. ∫ When using the 7.1ch speaker system 1 Check the distance difference of both the front speakers and the surround back speakers from the seating position. 2 Set the delay time of the surround back speakers. Volume (Channel balance) ( ) (Effective when playing multi-channel audio) 1Select “Test” and press [OK]. A test signal is output. 2While listening to the test signal Press [ 3,4] to adjust the volume of each speaker. The volume can be adjusted between r6 dB to s6 dB. ≥ Set each speaker level according to the volume of the Front (L) and Front (R) speaker volume respectively. 3Press [OK]. The test signal stops. To finish the speaker setting Press [ 3,4, 2,1 ] to select “Complete” and press [OK].
