Editing Pictures
Use the COOLPIX S200 to edit pictures in-camera and store them as separate
files (c115). The editing features described below are available.
kPicture Editing
• Pictures taken at an image  mode setting of [16:9] (c84) cannot be edited except Elec-
tronic VR.
• The COOLPIX S200 editing functions may not  be available for pictures taken with non-
COOLPIX S200 digital cameras.

Enhancing Brightness and Contrast: D-Lighting
D-Lighting can be used to create copies with enhanced brightness and con-
trast, brightening dark portions of a pi cture. Enhanced copies are stored as
separate files.
1Select the desired picture from full-
frame ( c26), or thumbnail ( c45) play-
back and press  m.
The playback menu is displayed.
2Highlight [D-Lighting] and press  d.

Compensating Blurred Images: Electronic VR
Vibration reduction is used to create a new image by compensating the
blurred image. Created copies are stored as separated files.
1Choose the desired image in full-frame
playback (c26).
2Press  d (F ) (electronic VR).
3Use the multi select or to choose [OK]
and press  d.
Compensated image is created.
To cancel vibration reduction, choose [Cancel] and
press  d.

Creating a Cropped Copy: Crop
This function is only available when D is displayed in the monitor with
playback zoom ( c46) enabled. Cropped copies are stored as separate files.
1Press  v (k ) to zoom in on the image.
2Refine copy composition.
Press  v or  t to adjust the zoom ratio.
Press the multi selector up, down, left, or right to
scroll the picture until only the portion you want to
copy is visible in the monitor.
3Press  m.

H Resizing Pictures: Small Picture
Create a small copy of the current pict ure. Small copies are stored as JPEG
files with a compression ratio of 1:16. The following sizes are available.

Viewing Pictures by Date
In calendar mode or list by date mode, pictures taken on a specified date can
be displayed. When m is pressed, the calendar menu or the list by date
menu is displayed, and all pictures taken on a specified date can be selected
for deletion, printing, protection, and transfer.

1Enter list by date mode by press-
ing C  in playback mode,
selecting  L (use the multi selec-
tor), and then pressing  d.
Dates for which pictures exist will be listed.
2Choose the desired date and press  d.
Camera lists up to 29 dates. If pictures exist for more
than 29 dates, all pictures recorded earlier than most
recent 29 dates will be listed together as [Others].
The first picture for that date will be displayed...
