Replace air filters periodically to maintain the projector’s performance. WARNING: • When replacing air filters\fi, turn off the projector and unplug \fithe power ca\fle. • Dust in air filters will hinder ventilation of the projector, lead to a rise of the internal temperature and can cause a fire or malfunction. 55 5. Maintenance of \fiYour Projector 2 Remove the lamp housing. 1. Loosen the two screws securing the lamp housing until the Phillips screwdriver goes into a freewheeling condition. The two screws are not remova\fle. 2. Grasp the handle and \lremove the lamp housing. At this time, pull\fi the lamp housing s\fitraight out. CAUTION Make sure that lamp housin\fig is cool enough to\fi handle \fefore removing it.

56 5. Maintenance of \fiYour Projector 3 Install a new lamp housing. 1. Insert a new lamp housing until\l the lamp housing is\l plugged into the socket. Finally, align the protrusion for aligning the position of the lamp housing with the groove in the receptacle side of the projector. Protrusion Groove

NO TEBe sure to install \foth L\fiamp 1 and Lamp 2. \fiThe projector will not t\fiurn on unless \foth th\fie lamps are installed. 4 Reattach the lamp cover. 1. Align the protrusions (2 locations) in the lamp cover with the receptacle holes in the projector and mount the lamp \lcover.

This completes replacing the lamp. \fiNext, replace the air filte\firs. • Replace the rear air filter (See \fipage 59) • Replace the side a\fiir filter (See page \fi62) NO TEAlways replace \foth of the air filters at the same time. \bf you do not replace \foth of the air filters, the air filter usage time will not \fe ca\filculated correctly.

59 5. Maintenance of \fiYour Projector 5-3-5. Replacing the Rear Air Filter \freparati\bn: Replace the lamp fir\fist. (See page 54) 1 Open the filter cover. 1. Loosen each of the\l two knobs by turning them counterclockwise. The kno\fs are not remova\fle. \bf the kn\fio\f is too tight to \fiturn, use a Phillips \fiscrewdriver. 2. Tilt the filter cover towards you to open it.

60 5. Maintenance of \fiYour Projector 2 Remove the air filter. Pull the right side\fi of the air filter t\fiowards you to remove it. 3 Mount the air filter to the projector. Look for an arrow (↑A\bR FLOW) indicating the installation direction on the side of the air filter. Point the arrow towards the projector. 1. Align the air filter to the flange on the left side of the air \linlet. 2. Push the right side of the ai\lr filter against the air inlet\l on the projector. Flange
