Page 42 5-5 Linking Games 1. When a single machine is to be used as a two player linked game, the link cable supplied must be fitted to the link connectors on the rear of the machine. Failure to fit the link cable will prevent the two game PCBs from communicating. 2. To fit the link cable, remove the pozi head screw (M5x12) and remove the link cover. 3. Fit the link cable, refit the link cover and secure with the pozi head screw (M5x12)
Page 43 4. When two machines are to be used as a four player game, both of the link\ cables supplied must be used to connect the two machines together. 5 . Refer to section 6-3-2 page 47 to set the PCB ID. Failure to set the correct ID will prevent the games operating in link mode.

The power switch is located on the rear of the monitor cabinet.
Page 45 6-2 Adjustment Switches The Adjustment switches are located inside the coin door. 1. Service Switch. Press this switch to obtain game credits without incrementing the play meter. 2. Test Switch Slide the test switch ON to enter test mode. Test mode allows testing and the changing of game settings. (Refer to section 6-3 Test Mode page 45) 3. Select Up/Down Switch This switch is used to select the test required when in the Test Mode. 4. Enter Switch This switch is used to enter a selected test and to change settings with\ in a test. Page 46 6-3 Test Mode 1. Open the coin door and slide the test switch “ON”. The “Menu Screen” will be displayed on the monitor. 2. Select the test required by using the select up/down switch. The colour of the selected test will change. 3. Activate the test by pressing the Enter switch. Select “EXIT” in each test to return to the “Menu Screen”. 4. After testing is completed, slide the test switch to the “OFF” position to return to normal game mode. The Test Switch must always be in the “OFF” position for normal game mode. Be sure to set these correctly to avoid link absence or other operation faults. PCB ID numbers (1 ~ 4) are linked to the numbers of the current players (1P ~ 4P). (ii) Each seat is assigned a horse family name. Be careful not to duplicate family names in linked seats. The machine will not operate correctly if the settings are incorrect. The family names are numbered as follows: 1 - Funky 2 - Magic 3- Cert 4- Sky (iii) The same degree of difficulty must be set for all of the linked seats. If different degrees of difficulty are set, the machine will not operate correctly.
Page 50 6-3-3 I/O Test 1. Select “I/O TEST” on the menu screen to switches and lamps. The following screen is displayed. 2. Use the Select Up/Down switch choose the required item then press the Enter button. 3. Use the Enter button to change the setting. 4. (If a switch is ON, it will be displayed in red.) (b) Shows the number of units linked. (1 ~ 4). If no link data is being received LINK OFF will be displayed. If unreconisable data is being received LINK NG will be displayed. (c) Selecting this item allows all switches and control pots to be checked. (See 6-3-3-1) (d) Selecting this item will cause the leading lamps to be turned ON and OFF\ each time the enter switch is pressed. (e) I/O PCB (ASCA-1PCB) check This test is used to check the operation I/O PCB. I/O PCB CONNECT will be displayed if the operation is normal.
Page 51 6-3-3-1 Switch Test 1. Select “Switch Test” on the I/O menu screen to test the switches. The following screen is displayed. 2. The display shows the current state of the switches. 3. Press the Up Select switch and the Enter switch together to EXIT and return to the I/O menu screen (i) If the test switch is turned OFF during this test, the game will return to normal game mode. (ii) to (vii) The display will change from OFF to ON as each switch is operated. (viii) When the head is turned to the left, the numbers ( ****) change and the display will change from CENTER to LEFT OK. When the head is turned to the right, the numbers ( ****) change and the display will change from CENTER to RIGHT OK. (ix) When the horse is rocked fully backwards and forwards, the numbers (****) will change and OK will be displayed for both front and back movement. Note: If OK is not displayed for items (viii) or (ix) first re-initialize the game, (See section 7) , before checking or replacing the control pot.
