These numbers are used to report non-emergency incidents. If the situation includes imminent danger or loss of life, you should dial 911.Telecommunications Relay ServiceNextel supports services for communicating with speech and/or hearing impaired individuals. You can dial 711 to reach a local Telecommunications Relay Center. You will then be connected to your destination number. Relay service works through a Communications Assistant who reads messages typedintoaTDD/TTYdevicebyaspeechorhearing impaired individual to you. The Communications Assistant then types your spoken messages to the hearing or speech impaired individual. Telecommunications Relay Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and every call is strictly confidential.Note:Using 711 to reach Telecommunications Relay Service may not be available in all areas. With Alternate Line Service, you can: Set up different billing addresses for each phone line. Use different ringer styles so that you can tell which line is receiving the call. Forward incoming calls to the primary and alternate line to different phone numbers. To set the active line: 1From the main menu, selectSettings > Phone Calls > Set Line. 2Select the phone line you want to be the active line. When calls made to the line that is not active are set to be forwarded to the active line, these calls are sent to voice mail without ringing. See “Call Forwarding” on page 57. 93 DatebookDatebook stores up to 250 events. You can store events over a 13 month period — 12 months after and 1 month before the current date. A Datebook event contains: A subject — A name you assign to the event. You can also enter a phone number, Direct Connect number, or Talkgroup number here. After the event is stored, you can call this number from Datebook or when you get a reminder of this event. A location — The location of the event. You can also enter a phone number, Direct Connect number, or Talkgroup number here. After the event is stored, you can call this number from Datebook or when you get a reminder of this event. A start time — The start time automatically assigned to an event is the beginning of the day. You can change the start time, or assign no start time, before storing the event. A duration — the length of time the event lasts A date — The date automatically assigned to an event is the date that was highlighted or selected when you began creating the event. You can change this date before storing the event.A repeat — lets you store the event as a recurring event A reminder — If an event has a start time, you can set Datebook to remind you that the event is goingtostart. a ring tone for the reminder a profile that your phone is switched to while the event is occurring a Java application that starts when the event starts Only the subject and date are required. You can call the number stored inSubjectand the number stored inLocationif one is a phone number and the other is a Direct Connect number or Talkgroup number. If both are the same type of number, the number inSubjectis called or sent a call alert. To call or send a call alert to the number stored inLocation, you must delete the number stored inSubject. To make a call or send a call alert: 1Highlight or select the event containing the number you want to call or send a call alert to. 2To make a phone call: Presss.-or- Pressm. SelectCall # in Event. To make a Direct Connect call or Group Connect call: Press and hold the PTT button on the side of your phone.-or- If you did not include a#before the Talkgroup youwanttocall:Pressm. SelectTalkgroup.To send a call alert: Pressm. SelectAlert # in Event. Customizing Datebook SetupTo access Datebook set up options: 1From the main menu, selectDatebook. 2Pressm. 3SelectSetup. You can view or change these options: StartView— sets Datebook to start in day view, week view, or month view when you access Datebook. Daily Begin— sets the beginning of your day. Thisistheearliesttimeofdaydisplayedinweek view, if you have a 12-hour day view. Reminders— If this option is set toOnly When On, your phone reminds you of events only when it is on. If this option is set toAlways, your phone powers itself on when you receive reminders. To avoid draining the battery, your phone then powers itself off after a short time. Delete After— sets the amount of time Datebook waitstodeleteaneventafterisoccurs.
99 Customizing Datebook Setup TimeShift— lets you shift the times of all Datebook events. This is useful if you are traveling to a different time zone. Alert Timeout— sets the amount of time a tone continues to sound when you receive a message notification, call alert, or Datebook reminder. Clock— controls whether the time and date appear on the idle screen; sets time and date format; sets year.
