    The mark function enables you to store your 
    favourite files from any disc or USB device in 
    the unit memory.
    1. Select [Music] on the [Home\V] menu.

    To delete a Marker
    1. Use U u to select the track that y\Vou wish to 
    erase from the marked file.

    To delete all Markers
    Use U u I i to select [Deselect All] then press 
     ENTER in program edit mode.
    NOTE
    The markers are also cleared when the disc o\Vr 
    USB device is removed, the unit is swit\Vched to 
    power off or the function is switched to others.
    Changing subtitle code page 
    Div\b
    If the subtitle is \Vnot displayed properly, you 
    can change the subt\Vitle code page to view the 
    subtitle file properly.
    1. During playback, press  INFO/DI\bPLAY to 
    display the On-Screen display.
    2. Use U u to select the [Code \bage] option.
    3. Use I i to select desired code option.
    4. \bress O RETURN to exit the On-Screen 
    display.

    Options while viewing a photo
    You can use various options during viewing a 
    photo in full screen.
    1. While viewing a photo in full screen, press 
     INFO/DI\bPLAY to display the option 
    menu.
    2. Select an option using U u I i.

    Sleep Timer Setting
    \bress SLEE\b repeatedly to select the desired 
    time period options \fin min\Vutes):

    In display window you see “LCD OFF” or Sleep 
    timer value and th\Ve display window turns off.
    To check the remaining time, press SLEE\b.
    To cancel the sleep\V function, press SLEE\b 
    repeatedly until “SLEE\b 10” appears, and then 
    press SLEE\b once again\V while “SLEE\b 10” is 
    displayed.
    NOTE
    • You can check the r\Vemaining time before the 
    unit turns off. \bress SLEE\b the remaining time 
    appears in the dis\Vplay window. 
    •  When you operate the unit in slee\Vp mode, 
    you can see operati\Vng information in display 
    window for about 5 seconds\V and the display 
    window turns off.
    Turn off the sound temporarily
    \bress  MUTE to mute your unit.
    You can mute your unit in order, for example, 
    to answer the telephone, appearing the MUTE 
    in the display window.
    Last Scene Memory D\fD
    This unit memorizes last scene from the last 
    disc that is viewed. The last scene remains in 
    memory even if you remove the disc from the 
    unit or switch off the unit. If you load a disc 
    that has the scene\V memorized, the scene is 
    automatically recalled.
    System Select - Optional
    You must select the appropriate system mode 
    for your TV system. \bress and hold X (PAU\bE/
    \bTEP) for more than five seconds to be able 
    to select a system in the [Home] m\Venu. \f\bAL/ 
    NTSC)
    NOTE
    If the USB device is connected or a disc is in\Vserted, 
    this function is not operat\Ved.
    Adjust the speaker level settings
    You can adjust the \Vsound level of each speaker.
    1. \bress \bPEAKER LEVEL repeatedly to select 
    a desired speaker to set. 
    2. \bress VOL -/+ to adjust the sound\V level of 
    the selected speaker while the level setting 
    memu is displayed on the display window.
    3. Repeat and adjust t\Vhe sound level of the 
    other speakers.
    VOCAL FADER
    You can enjoy the function as karaoke, by 
    reducing singer vocal of music in t\Vhe various 
    source. \fM\b3/ WMA/ CD/ etc.) \bress the VOCAL 
    FADER, and “FADE ON” will appear in di\Vsplay 
    window.
    To cancel it, press VOCAL FADER again.
    The quality of the VOCAL FADER may 
    be different depending on th\Ve recording 
    conditions of musi\Vc files.
    NOTE
    •   This function is available to use only when a \V
    microphone is connected.
    •   It is not available on the MO\VNO source.

    Radio Operations
    Be sure that FM aerial is connected \fRefer to 
    the page 22)
    Listening to the radio
    1. \bress t RADIO&INPUT until FM appears 
    in the display window. 
    The last received station is tune\Vd in.
    2. \bress and hold TUNING \f-/+) for about 
    two seconds until th\Ve frequency indication 
    starts to change, then release. Scanning 
    stops when the unit \Vtunes in a station\V.
    or
      \bress TUNING \f-/+) repeatedly.
    3. Adjust the volume by rotating VOLUME on 
    the front panel or by pressing VOL \f+/- )on 
    the remote control repeatedly. 
    Presetting the Radio Stations
    You can preset 50 stations f\Vor FM.
    Before tuning, make sure that you have turned 
    down the volume.
    1. \bress t RADIO&INPUT until FM appears 
    in the display window.
    2. Select the desired frequency by using 
    TUNING \f-/+).
    3. \bress  ENTER a preset number will fl\Vash 
    in the display window.
    4. \bress PRE\bET \f-/+) to select the preset 
    number you want.
    5. \bress  ENTER. 
    The station is stored.
    6. Repeat the steps 2 to 5 to store other 
    stations.
    Deleting all the saved stations
    1. \bress and hold CLEAR for two seconds. 
    "ERASE ALL" will flash up on \Vthe unit display. 
    2. \bress CLEAR to erase all saved of the radio 
    stations.
    Deleting a saved station
    1. \bress PRE\bET - / + to select a preset 
    number you want to delete.
    2. \bress CLEAR, the preset number will b\Vlink 
    in the display window.
    3. \bress CLEAR again, to delete the selected 
    preset number.
    Improving poor FM reception
    \bress B (PLAY), MONO/\bTEREO on the 
    remote control. This will change the\V tuner 
    from stereo to mono and usually\V improve the 
    reception.

    Sound adjustment
    Setting the surround mode
    This system has a number of\V pre-set surround 
    sound fields. You can select a desired sound 
    mode by using \bOUND EFFECT.
    You can change the \bOUND EFFECT using 
    I i arrow key while the sound \Veffect 
    information is displayed on.
    The displayed items for the equalizer may be 
    different depending on so\Vund sources and 
    effects.

    The NAT \bLUS is Natural \blus sound effect. You can enjoy the natural sound effect same as a 5.1-channel.

    The CLRVOICE is Clear Voice. This program make voice sound clear, improving the quality of voice sound. \f We encourage to use this EQ when\V you watch the movie of 5.1 channel\V.)
    GAME
    The GAME is Game Equalizer. You can enjoy more virtual sound while playing video games.
    NIGHT
    The NIGHT is Night Mode. This may be useful when y\Vou want to watch movies at low volume late at night.
    RETOUCH
    The RETOUCH is M\b3 Up-Scaling. When listening to M\b3 files or other c\Vompressed music, you can enhance the\V sound. This mode is available only to 2 channel sources.
    LOUDNESSImproves the bass and tr\Veble sound.
    VIRTUALThe VIRTUAL is VSM \blus. You can enjoy more virtual surround sound.
    BY\bASSYou can enjoy the sound without equalizer effect.
    NOTE
    • In some of surround modes, some speakers, 
    there's no sound or lo\Vw sound. It depends on 
    the mode of surround and the source of audio, 
    it is not defective.
    •  You may need to reset the surround mode, 
    after switching the input, so\Vmetimes even 
    after the sound track\V changed.
    •  This function is not operat\Ved when the 
    microphone is connected to the unit.

    Advanced Operations
    Recording to USB
    You can record music or sound s\Vouce to USB 
    device by connecting to the port on the unit.
    1. Connect the USB device to the unit.
    2. Select a mode in which \Vyou want to record.
    \blay back a sound sou\Vrce first.
    3. Start the recording by pressing z REC.
    4. To stop recording, press x (\bTOP).

    Record to USB in stop or play mode.

    •  When you stop recording during playback, the 
    file that has been \Vrecorded at that time w\Vill be 
    stored. \fAudio CD only)
    •  Do not remove the USB device or turn off 
    the unit during USB recording. If not, an 
    incomplete file may be made and not \Vdeleted 
    on \bC.
    •  Recording through microphones is not 
    availabe.
    •  If USB recording does not work, the message 
    like “NO USB”, “ERROR”, “USB FULL” or “NO REC” is 
    displayed on the display window.
    •  Multi card reader divice or ex\Vternal HDD can 
    not be used for USB recording.
    •  A file is recorded by 128 Mbyte \fabout 2 hours) 
    when you record for a long term. There are 
    recorded less than 4 fil\Ves.
    •  When you stop recording during playback, the 
    file will not be st\Vored.
    •  In the state CD-G, DTS disc USB record is not 
    operated.
    •  The files in the sub\V-folders are not recorded 
    during all track recording.
    •  You may not record more than 999 files.
    •  The numbering of the recording file is entered 
    from the lowest number. So if you delete some 
    of the recording files, the next recording file 
    could be the lowest number among th\Vem.
    The making of unauthorized copies of copy-
    protected material, including computer 
    programs, files, broadcasts and sound\V recordings,  may be an infringement of copyrights and 
    constitute a criminal offense. This equipment  should not be used\V for such purposes. Be responsible

    Notes on Discs
    Handling Discs
    Never stick paper or \Vtape on the disc.
    \btoring Discs
    After playing, store the disc in its \Vcase. Do not 
    expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of 
    heat and never leave it in a parked car exposed 
    to direct sunlight.
    Cleaning Discs
    Do not use strong solvents such as alcoh\Vol, 
    benzine, thinner, commercially available 
    cleaners, or anti-static sp\Vray intended for older 
    vinyl records.
    Handling the Unit
    W\fen s\fipping t\fe unit
    \blease save the original shipping carton and 
    packing materials. If you need to ship the unit, 
    for maximum protection, re-pack the unit as i\Vt 
    was originally packed at the factory.
    Keeping the exterior surfaces clean
    • Do not use volatile liquids su\Vch as 
    insecticide spray near the unit. 
    • Wiping with strong pressure may damage 
    the surface.
    • Do not leave rubber or plasti\Vc products in 
    contact with the unit for a long period of 
    time.
    Cleaning t\fe unit
    To clean the player, use a soft, dry cloth. If 
    the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft 
    cloth lightly moist\Vened with a mild d\Vetergent 
    solution. Do not use strong solvents such as 
    alcohol, benzine, or thinner, as these might 
    damage the surface of the unit.
    Maintaining t\fe Unit
    The unit is a high-tech, precision device. If 
    the optical pick-up lens and disc d\Vrive parts 
    are dirty or worn, the picture quality could be 
    diminished. For details, please contact your 
    nearest authorized service center.
