Managing Bandwidth You can specify the \Bmaximum bandwidth th\Bat an outgoing or incoming \Bcall uses by setting the Outgoing Maximum Bandwidth and Incoming Maximum Bandwidth preferences in Admi\bist\fato\f P\fefe\fe\bces : Calls. The value that you choose for the Outgoing Maximum Bandwidth bec\Bomes the maximum va\Blue that users can c\Bhoose in the user interface when placing \Ba call by dialing a number\B manually or when \Bspecifying a bandw\Bidth in a directory entry. If a user specifies \B\futo for the bandwidth whe\Bn placing a call, the maximum outgoing bandwidth bec\Bomes the starting point for negotiating bandw\Bidth when the call c\Bonnects. If you choose \futo as the value for the Outgoing Maximum Bandwidth and\B Incoming Maximum Bandwidth preferences and the user chooses \futo for the bandwidth whe\Bn placing the call, the system places the call \Bat 1152 kb/s. The \futo Bandwidth preference addresses how the system responds to packet loss during a call. When set to Enabled, the system attempts to use the best available bandwidth \Bafter the call connects. Selecting a Maximum Cal\Tl Time You can control the amount of time\B that a call stays connected by selecting an option for the Maximum Call Time preference in Admi\bist\fato\f P\fefe\fe\bces : Calls.
