PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION PROCEDURES 01-1 PRE-DELIVERY INSPE CTION PROCEDURES Pre-delivery inspection (PDI) $% 10.10.01 Preliminary 1.After parking vehicle in work bay, remove keys from ignition switch. 2.Check the integrity of factory fitted door and tailgate closure seals. Should a seal be broken or missing, ensure the tool kit and spare wheel are present. Also check that no internal damage to trim has occurred. 3.Remove door and tailgate closure seals. 4.Open bonnet for access.5.Loosen nut and disconnect the transportation cut off switch cable from the battery negative terminal. CAUTION: After switching off the ignition, wait 2 minutes before disconnecting the battery. Failure to wait two minutes will damage the navigation computer. 6.Loosen nut and disconnect the transportation cut off switch extension lead from the battery negative earth lead. 7.Remove and dispose of harness and switch.
PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION 01-2 PROCEDURES 8.Check security of battery carrier clamps and positive battery terminal. Using a volt meter, ensure battery voltage exceeds 12.65 volts before connecting Testbook/T4. If voltage is below this figure recharge battery. NOTE: The voltage check must be carried out before connecting Testbook/T4. Failure to do this may result in vehicle configuration failure. 9.If BBUS multiplug is disconnected, remove nut securing sounder to support bracket. 10.Connect multiplug to BBUS. 11.Fit nut to BBUS and tighten to 10 Nm (7 lbf.ft).12.Visually check brake fluid level is at the MAX mark on brake reservoir. Investigate the cause if brake fluid level is low. 13.Remove filler cap, check and top up windscreen, headlamp and rear washer reservoir with diluted Land Rover screen wash fluid. Refit the cap.
PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION PROCEDURES 01-3 14.Connect earth lead to negative battery terminal and tighten bolt to 10 Nm (7 lbf.ft). 15.Start engine, turn the steering fully from lock to lock and back to the straight ahead position. This action is required to extinguish the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) warning lamps. Stop the engine.16.Release cover from drivers side vehicle diagnostic socket and connect the Testbook/T4 lead (DTC 0065A). Connect lead to Testbook/ T4 and switch on. 17.After Testbook/T4 has established communication with the vehicle, navigate to the Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) button. Select PDI button and follow the Testbook/T4 programme. Release vehicle from transit mode, configure vehicle to market, set customer and dealer options (including satellite navigation languages if necessary). 18.Disconnect Testbook/T4.
PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION 01-4 PROCEDURES 19. Telephone handset registration: The following describes the process for registering a new phone to a vehicle. Again, it should be remembered that only one phone can be registered to a vehicle and that any other phone should be de-registered prior to trying to register a new phone. 20.Replacement handsets will be supplied from the manufacturer in German. Language changes can only be made once the phone is registered to the vehicle, therefore the registration process for new phones must be completed in German. aThe Ignition on and phone must be switched on for a minimum of 10 seconds. It is not necessary to have the SIM card inserted to register a handset. bThe handset display will show “BITTE ANMELLDEN” (PLEASE REGISTER). cTurn the ignition “OFF” and remove the phone from the eject box. dSwitch the eject box switch to position O within 10 seconds. eTurn the eject box switch to position I within 5 seconds. fPress the “OK” button on the handset, the handset should display “GERATE CODE” (ENTER CODE). gEnter 0000 and press the “OK” button. hThe handset will display “ANMELLDEN LAUFT” when registered. iThe handset will then display “BITTE SETTEN SIE IHREKARTEIN” (PLEASE INSERT THE SIM CARD). 21. Change the telephone handset language: Once the registration process is complete the handset language may need to be changed. aWith the SIM card in and the ignition in position 1, turn on the handset. bThe handset will display “SUCHE BASIS” (SEARCHING BASE) cWhen the service provider is displayed on the handset, press the “MENU” button. Press 7 to select option 7 in the menu. dThe display will show “SPRACHE”, press “OK”. eHighlight the desired language and press “OK”. fReturn to main menu.22. Synchronise the vehicle alarm handsets: Ensure the vehicle is unlocked and the driver and passenger doors are closed. 23.Insert a key/remote handset in the ignition switch, turn the ignition switch to position 1 and back to position 0 in less than 5 seconds to put the BCU into initialisation mode. Continue the next procedure within 30 seconds of turning the ignition switch to position 0. 24.Remove the handset from the ignition switch. 25.Press and hold the unlock button then, within 10 seconds, press the lock button 3 times 26.Release both buttons. 27.Successful initialisation is indicated by the BCU locking and unlocking the vehicle. If this does not occur, repeat the previous steps. 28.With the remaining handsets, press and hold the unlock button, then within 10 seconds, press the lock button 3 times. Begin the initialisation of each handset within 30 seconds of completing the previous initialisation. Failure to achieve this will result in the BCU dropping out of initialisation mode and the complete procedure will have to be started again. 29.Remove all internal, external transit protection and brake disc covers. Pay particular attention to areas where transit protection is damaged or missing.
PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION PROCEDURES 01-5 Vehicle Interior 1. Models fitted with Hi Line Multi Function Display (MFD) only: Set time, date and radio audio settings, including presets. 2.Turn key in ignition switch to position 1. 3.Switch on the MFD. 4.Depress the menu button, using the right rotary control select clock and set time by depressing the right rotary control, follow the on screen icons. Enter correct time in either 12 or 24 hour mode. Press menu to exit clock mode.5.Set 6 FM and 6 AM radio presets. 6.Press the FM button then press Select, rotate the right hand rotary control to position 1 Search Non Sensitive. 7.Press the FM button to display menu of selected stations, rotate the right hand rotary control and select a station to preset. Allocate a preset number to the selected station, depress the relevant preset button and hold for 8 seconds, the station will mute, resumption signifies a successful preset. 8.Repeat the procedure for the 5 remaining FM presets. 9.Press the AM select button and preset 6 of a possible 18 stations by repeating the process used to set the FM station presets. 10. Models fitted with Mid Line Multi Function Display (MFD) only: Set time, date and radio audio settings including presets. 11.Turn key in ignition switch to position 1. 12.Switch on the MFD.
