21 Radio Operation R PTY (PROGRAM TYPE) The RBDS (Radio Broadcast Data System) allows programs to be categorised by the broadcast type (rock music, current affairs, news etc.). This in turn, allows you to search for a station by choosing the type of broadcast that you wish to listen to. PTY search To search for a station by program type, RBDS must be set to ON. To insert a disc into the player, ensure that the label side of the disc is facing upwards and present the disc to the slot. 25 CD Operation R Ejecting To eject a disc, press the Eject button and wait for the disc to be presented. ‘Ejecting’ will be displayed. There is a short delay between pressing the button and the disc leaving the unit. This is normal, and the eject button should not be pressed more than once. Once the disc has been presented and stopped moving ‘Remove Disc’ will be displayed. The disc should now be removed. 27 CD Operation R CD FUNCTIONS MENU Accessing functions menu Some additional functions are available from the CD menu. To access the menu when in CD mode, briefly press the ‘MENU/OK’ button.CD Scan CD Scan will play the first ten seconds of each track on the current CD in numerical order. Play will then begin at the start of track one. This feature is designed to allow you to sample the music available on a CD. 28 CD Operation R Random Random alters the playback sequence for the current disc. Instead of working through the tracks in numerical order, the tracks are selected randomly by the player. 30 Controls & Settings R VOLUME SETTINGS Automatic Volume Control AVC (Automatic Volume Control) adjusts the volume level to allow for the changes in road noise as the vehicle speed increases or decreases. The volume increase is proportional to speed increase. If the AVC Level is set to zero there will be no volume increase: 1 is the lowest increase, 9 is the highest increase.
