LaCie 700 Series LCD Monitors Troubleshooting User Manual page 31 LaCie 7304.2. ProblemChecklistSolutions The monitor will not turn on. Is the power cord connected properly? Check the power cord connection and supply. No images appear on the screen. Is there a “Check Signal Ca- ble” message on the screen? If a “Check Signal Cable” message appears on the screen when the monitor is connected properly, check to see if the monitor status is set to analog. Press the ‘Information‘ button to check the input signal source. If the power is on and the above message does not ap - pear… …reboot the computer to see the initial screen login screen. If the initial login screen appears, boot the computer in Safe Mode and then change the frequency of the video card. NOTe: If the initial screen (the login screen) does not appear, contact the Service Center or your dealer. Is the power indicator on the monitor blinking at 1 second intervals? The monitor is in PowerSaver mode. Press a key on the keyboard to activate the monitor and restore the image on the screen. If there is still no image, press the ‘[Xxxx]‘ button, then press any key o\ n the keyboard again to activate the monitor and restore the image on the screen. The screen shows strange colors or just black and white. Are images on the screen tinted with a color? Check your video card connection. Make sure the video card is fully inserted in its slot. Have the screen colors be - come strange after running a program or after an applica- tion crash? Reboot the computer. Has the video card been set properly? Refer to the documentation that came with your video card to set it properly. The screen suddenly has become unbalanced. Have you adjusted the resolu- tion or frequency of your video card to the monitor? Refer to the documentation that came with your video card to adjust its resolution and frequency. The LED is blinking but there are no images on the screen. Is the Display Timing frequency properly adjusted? Refer to the documentation that came with your video card to adjust its frequency. The screen displays im- ages in only 16 colors. Have the Windows display set - tings been set properly? Windows ME/2000/XP: Set the colors properly in Control Panel/ Display/Settings. The screen colors have changed after changing the video card. Has the video card been set properly? Refer to the documentation that came with your video card to set it properly. I cannot use the 2560x1600 resolution with the monitor. Does the graphics card on your computer support the 2560x1600 resolution? If your graphics card does not support the 2560x1600 resolution, then you can only use the 1280x800 resolution with your monitor. To use the 2560x1600 resolution, replace your graphics card with one that supports that resolution.

LaCie warrants your monitor against any defect in material and workmanship, under normal use, for the period designated on your war- ranty certificate. In the event this product is found to be defective within the warranty period, LaCie will, at its option, repair or replace the defective product. This warranty is void if: The monitor was operated/stored in abnormal use or maintenance conditions; ✦The monitor is repaired, modified or altered, unless such repair, modification or alteration is expressly authorized in writing by LaCie; ✦The monitor was subjected to abuse, neglect, lightning strike, electrica\ l fault, improper packaging or accident; ✦The monitor was installed improperly; ✦The serial number of the monitor is defaced or missing; ✦The broken part is a replacement part such as a pickup tray, etc. ✦The tamper seal on the monitor casing is broken. ✦ LaCie will not, under any circumstances, be liable for direct, special o\ r consequential damages such as, but not limited to, damage or loss of property or equipment, loss of profits or revenues, cost of replacement goods, or expense or inconvenience caused by service interrup - tions. Under no circumstances will any person be entitled to any sum greater than the purchase price paid for the monitor. To obtain warranty service, call LaCie Technical Support. You will be asked to provide your LaCie product’s serial number, and you may be asked to furnish proof of purchase to confirm that the monitor is s\ till under warranty.
