4Open the cover of the fuser unit 
and remove any misfed media.
If media is torn, check for 
any remaining media.
Make sure that the levers 
at both ends of the fuser 
unit are returned to the 
positions they were in 
before clearing the jam.
CAUTION
The area around the fuser unit is 
extremely hot.
Touching anything other than the 
indicated levers may result in

Clearing a Media Misfeed at the Transfer Roller
1Remove any media from the 
center output tray.
2Open the top cover.
Do not touch any parts 
inside the printer.
3Hold the toner cartridge by the 
grip, and then pull it out slowly.

4Examine the interior after taking 
out the toner cartridge and 
remove any misfed media.
Rotating the roller on the 
left side helps releasing 
misfed media for 
removal.
If media is torn, check for 
any remaining media. 
5Hold the toner cartridge by the 
grip, and then insert it into the 
slot inside the printer.
Do not touch any parts 
inside the printer.
Ensure that the toner car-
tridge is firmly set.

1Open the offset tray cover by 
pulling the tab at the top left of 
the cover.
2Remove any misfed media.
3Close the offset tray cover.

Solving Problems with Media Misfeeds
Frequent misfeeds in any area indicate that area should be checked, 
repaired, or cleaned. Repeated misfeeds may also happen if you’re 
using unsupported print media.
