    							Chapter 5— Using Inside Track
103 Inside Track User GuideTo delete an entry, place the highlight on that entry and select the Delete
    command button.
To change the order in which the entries appear, select the Sort button.
A window with a drop-down list box appears. Scroll through the drop
down list box to the desired sorting key and select the OK command
button; the list box will automatically re-sort to the desired order. Or, to
leave the list unchanged, select the Cancel command button.
To select a field, use the mouse or arrow keys. To edit the field, double-click the mouse
button or press F2 and then enter or edit the information.
When finished, select the OK command button to save your changes. Or, to exit without
saving changes, select the Cancel command button.
Note:In the raw file, a dialed number may be immediately followed by extension or
password, and Inside Track cannot tell where the number ends. Therefore, when you pro-
gram the account code association, you need to type the whole number (including exten-
sion or password) up to a pound sign, if there is one.
To see if there are numbers after a telephone number, users can select the Telephone
Number Ranges in the Criteria list box and type the telephone number followed by a“+”
sign. For example, 9619000+. The report will show all numbers that start with 9619000,
so you can choose the one you want for the account code association.

    Location Look-up Data
The Location Look-up Data fields allow telephone numbers in the reports to be identified
by location (company, city, country, etc.). Inside Track compares the telephone numbers
with the Location Look-up list and adds the corresponding description to the telephone
number pattern. (In the sample above, any number beginning with 1602 would be identi-
fied as an Arizona telephone number.) When the Inside Track software first creates an
enhanced database, the location look-up portion is filled with records from a default data-
base. You can add additional patterns and descriptions or delete default patterns.
A Look-up pattern can contain up to 32 characters and its description can contain up to 40
characters. Look-up patterns follow the same format as telephone number patterns, de-
scribed on page 79, except that they cannot end with the optional bracket [x], and ranges
can have up to 10 characters on either side of the hyphen (for example: 0000000000–
    9999999999).
To add or delete patterns, or change the sorting order, use the following command buttons:
This button allows you to add an entry for a new pattern. The new entry
is blank. Highlight the field to be programmed and enter the new in-
    formation.
To delete an entry, highlight it and select the Delete command button.

identified in the reports. The trunk numbers can contain up to eight characters, and the
descriptions can contain up to 20 characters. To add or delete trunks, or change the sorting
order, use the following command buttons:
