Removing and replacing a FRU

							When installing:Before reinstalling the system board, do
the following.
vMake sure that all of the thermal rubbers removed in
step
3are placed on the new system board as shown
in the figures below.
Upper side of the system board
Bottom side of the system board
vWhen installing the new RJ45/11 connector assembly
onto the system board, make sure that the connector is
firmly seated.

							2010 LCD assembly
For access, remove these FRUs, in order:
v“1010 Battery pack”on page 58
v“1050 Hard-disk drive or RF ID adapter”on page 64
v“1060 Ultrabay 2000 device”on page 66
v“1080 Keyboard”on page 69
v“1090 Keyboard CRU insulator”on page 72
v“1100 Hinge cover and clear sheet icon”on page 73
v“1110 Keyboard bezel and speaker”on page 74
Strip off the two insulation tapes (
1) securing the cable.

							Note:When unplugging the antenna jack from the
wireless PC Card, do not pull the cable; it might
snap. Unplug the jack by gripping it with your
fingers.

							When installing:After fixing the LCD assembly onto the
base cover with tightening the screws,
do the following procedure.
1. Plug the black antenna cable into jack
a(AUX) of the
wireless PC Card, and the gray antenna cable into jack

							2. Secure the black cable with insulation tape as follows:

Notes:
a. Make sure that the cable does not jut out from the
edge of the wireless PC Card as shown inAin the
figure. Route the cable as shown in the left figure
above.
b. Route the cable along the edge of the PC Card slot
as shown in the left figure above. Do not secure
the cable separately from the edge of the PC Card
slot as shown inBin the figure.

							3. Route the cables as follows:
a. Route the black cable and the gray cable one
through the cable guide.
b. Route the cables along the edge of the upper
shield and secure them with the insulation tape

c. Route the cable under LCD flexible cable(A)and
alongside the LCD. (

d. Route the cable between the fan assembly and the
sub card. (
c)
e. Route the cable between the system board and the
stiffener. Only at this point can any extra bend of
the cables be allowed. (
