TouchPad Item Component Description (1)TouchPad light ●Off: The TouchPad is on. ●Amber: The TouchPad is off. (2)TouchPad on/off button Turns the TouchPad on and off. Quickly double-tap the TouchPad on/off button to turn the TouchPad on and off. (3)Left TouchPad button Functions like the left button on an external mouse. (4)TouchPad zone Moves the pointer and selects or activates items on the screen. (5)Right TouchPad button Functions like the right button on an external mouse. Top 13
Left side Item Component Description (1)External monitor port Connects an external VGA monitor or projector. (2)Vents (2) Enable airflow to cool internal components. NOTE:The computer fan starts up automatically to cool internal components and prevent overheating. It is normal for the internal fan to cycle on and off during routine operation. (3)RJ-45 (network) jack Connects a network cable. (4)HDMI port Connects an optional video or audio device, such as a high-definition television, or any compatible digital or audio component. (5)USB ports (2) Connect optional USB devices. (6)Audio-in (microphone) jack Connects an optional computer headset microphone, stereo array microphone, or monaural microphone. (7)Audio-out (headphone) jack Produces sound when connected to optional powered stereo speakers, headphones, ear buds, a headset, or television audio. (4)AC adapter light●White: The computer is connected to external power and the battery is fully charged. ●Amber: A battery is charging. ●Off: The computer is not connected to external power. (5)Power connector Connects an AC adapter. (6)Security cable slot Attaches an optional security cable to the computer. Bottom components Item Component Description (1)Battery bay Holds the battery. (2)Battery release latch Releases the battery from the battery bay. It is normal for the internal fan to cycle on and off during routine operation. (4)Hard drive bay Holds the hard drive and WLAN device, and contains the memory module slots. CAUTION:To prevent an unresponsive system, replace the wireless module only with a wireless module authorized for use in the computer by the governmental agency that regulates wireless devices in your country or region. If you replace the module and then receive a warning message, remove the module to restore computer functionality, and then contact technical support through Help and Support. *The antennas are not visible from the outside of the computer. For optimal transmission, keep the areas immediately around the antennas free from obstructions.
