So if you have the following bar code: “abc569GK,” you can make the output “ABC569GK” by scanning Convert All Characters to Upper Case, or to “abc569gk” by scanning Convert All Characters to Lower Case. If an application requires only ASCII Hex characters 0 through 7F decimal (text, digits, and punctua- tion), select 7 data bits. When an RS232 receiver is sleeping, a character may be sent to wake up the receiver and reset the time-out. A transaction on the CTS line will also wake up the receiver.
