    lResettheinteractivewhiteboardsystembydisconnectingthepowercablefromthewall
    socketandthenconnectingit.

    Torestartanunresponsiveprojector
    1.PuttheprojectorintoStandbymodeandthenwait30minutesforittocooldown.
    2.Disconnectthepowercablefromthepowersocketandthenwaitatleast60seconds.
    3.Connectthepowercableandthenturnontheprojector.
    The“ProjectorOverheated”,“FanFailure”,“LampFailure”or“ColourWheelFailure”
    messageappears
    Ifthe“ProjectorOverheated”,“FanFailure”or“ColourWheelFailure”messageappearsandthe
    projectorstopsprojectinganimage,oneofthefollowingissuesisoccurring:

    lThetemperatureoutsidetheprojectoristoohigh.

    1.PuttheprojectorintoStandbymodeandthenwait30minutesforittocooldown.

    1.Restarttheprojector(seeYourprojectorstopsrespondingonthepreviouspageyf.
    2.Ifthelamphasmorethan2000hoursofuseinStandardmodeor3000hoursofusein
    Economymode,it’sneartheendofitslifespan.

    4.Ifreplacingthelampmoduledoesn’tresolvetheissue,puttheprojectorintoStandbymode,

    Lossofsignal
    Ifavideosourcesignalisnotdetected,outofrangeoftheprojector’ssupportvideomodesorthe
    signalisbeingswitchedtoadifferentdeviceorinput,
    theprojectordoesn’tshowasourcesignalandinstead
    displaystheSMARTlogoonabluescreen.
    Toresolvesignallossissues
    1.Waitapproximately45secondsfortheimagetosynchronise.Somevideosignalsrequirea
    longersynchronisationperiod;cyclingbackthroughinputstotheoneyouwantalsohelps
    imagesynchronisation.
    2.Iftheimagedoesn’tsynchronise,checkyourcableconnectionstotheprojector.
    3.Ensurethattheimagesignaliscompatiblewiththeprojector(seeVideoformatcompatibility
    onpage75yf.
    4.Ifthereareanyextensioncables,switchboxes,connectionwallplatesorotherdevicesin
    thevideoconnectionfromthecomputertotheprojector,temporarilyremovethemtoensure
    theyaren’tcausingthevideosignalloss.
    5.Ifyourprojectorstilldoesn’tshowasourcesignal,contactyourauthorisedSMARTreseller.

    theprojector’scompatiblesignalformats(seeVideoformatcompatibilityonpage75yf.Refer
    toyourcomputer’smanualformoreinformation.
    2.Configurethedisplaymodeofyourcomputer’sgraphicscardtomakeitcompatiblewiththe
    projector.Refertoyourcomputer’smanualformoreinformation.
    3.Optionally,resettheprojectorasdescribedinResettingtheprojectoronpage41toadjust
    thefrequencyandtrackingtotheiroriginalvalues.

    1.EnsurethattheHideDisplayfeatureisoff.
    2.PresstheHidebuttonontheprojector’sremotecontroltohideorshowthedisplay.
    3.Ensurethatyoursourcedevice,suchasyourDVDplayerorcomputer,isn’tmalfunctioning.
    4.PuttheprojectorintoStandbymodeandthenwait30minutesforittocooldown.
    5.Disconnectthepowercablefromthepowersocketandthenwaitatleast60seconds.
    6.Connectthepowercableandthenturnontheprojector.

    Alignmenterrorsoccurwhentheprojectedimageisn’tperpendiculartothescreen.Alignment
    errorscanoccurwhenyoumountyourinteractivewhiteboardsystemonanunevensurfaceora
    wallthathasobstructions,orifyouswiveltheprojectortoofarfromtheverticalcentreofyour
    interactivewhiteboard.

    instructionsincluded(smarttech.com/kb/170472yftoeliminatemostimagealignmentissues.
    Theprojectorimagecanslipiftheprojectorismovedoftenorinstalledinalocationproneto
    vibration,suchasnexttoaheavydoor.Followtheseprecautionstohelppreventtheimagefrom
    becomingmisaligned:
    lMakesurethattheinstallationwallisplumbandsquareanddoesn’tmoveorvibrate
    excessively.
    lMakesurethattherearenoobstructionsbehindtheprojector’swall-mountingbracketand
    thatthebracketisfirmlysecuredtothewallaccordingtotheinstallationinstructions.
    lConfirmthatallcablesareheldinplacewiththeappropriatecablemanagementclip.

    Resolvingaudioissues
    Theprojectorincludesspeakersthatareconnectedtotheaudiooutputconnectorinthe
    projector’sconnectionpanel.Ifnosoundiscomingfromyourspeakersoraudiosystem,perform
    thefollowingprocedure.
    Theprojectorincludesaninternalspeaker.Youcanalsoconnectanexternalaudiosystemtothe
    audiooutputconnectorintheprojector’sconnectionpanel.Ifsoundisn’tcomingfromeitheryour
    internalspeakeroryourexternalaudiosystem,performthefollowingprocedures.

    YoumightneedtoconfigureyourcomputertopassaudiothroughHDMIifitisn’tconfigured
    automatically.
    Toresolveaudioissues,completethefollowingtasks:
    lIfyou’reusingoptionalexternalspeakersoranexternalaudiosystem,ensurethatthe
    speakers’oraudiosystem’scablesareproperlyconnectedtotheaudiooutputplugonthe
    projector’sconnectionpanel.
    lForthepurposeoftroubleshooting,enableboththeinternalandexternalspeakersby
    ensuringthattheSystemOutputSwitchintheaudiomenuissettoLineOut+Speaker.
    lEnsurethatthevideocablefromyourcomputerisconnectedtotheappropriatevideo
    connectoronyourprojector.
    lIfyou’reusingaVGAcable,ensurethattheanalogueaudiocablefromyourcomputer’s
    audiooutputisconnectedtotheprojector’sVGAaudioinputconnector.
    lPresstheMutebuttonontheprojector’sremotecontrolandifAudioMuteisonturnitoff.
    lUsetheprojector’sremotecontroltoensurethatthevolumeisn’tatthelowestsetting.
    lIfyou’reusinganexternalaudiosystem,ensurethatyourspeakeroraudiosystemisonand
    thatthevolumeisturnedup.
    lCheckthatyourvideosourceinput,suchasyourcomputerorvideodevice,isn’t
    malfunctioning.Ensurethatitsaudiooutputisonandthatthevolumeisn’tsettothelowest
    position.

    Youmustdisplaythesourceinput’svideotoplayitsaudiothroughtheconnected
    speakersoraudiosystem.

    lIfyourcomputer'svideosignalisconnectedwithanHDMIcable,ensurethatyour
    computer'saudiooutputisalsoconfiguredtooutputaudioviathesameHDMI cable.Ifyour
    computer'svideosignalisconnectedwithaVGAcable,ensurethatyourcomputer'saudio
    outputisconfiguredtouseitsanalogueaudiocableconnectedbetweenthecomputerand
    theprojector.

    Ifyou'reusinganHDMIvideoinputontheprojector,don’tuseanyDVItoHDMIadapters,
    becausetheydon’ttransferaudiofromtheDVIsourcetotheHDMIinputontheprojector.

    Resolvingnetworkcommunicationissues
    Ifyoudon’thavenetworkaccess,performthefollowingproceduretotroubleshootyoursystem.
    Toresolvenetworkcommunicationissues
    1.Ensurethatyournetworkcableisproperlyconnectedtotheinternetconnectiononthe
    projector’sconnectionpanel.TherearetwoRJ45(8P8Cyfports:oneisforthenetworkand
    oneisforprojector2.Ensurethatthenetworkcableconnectedtothecorrectone.
    2.EnsurethattheLANwarninglightontheprojectorisgreen.Toactivatetheprojector’s
    networkfeatures,usethe“vgaoutnetenable=on”RS-232command(seeProjector
    programmingcommandsonpage55yforenabletheNetworkandVGAOutsetting(see
    Adjustingprojectorsettingsonpage67yf.Thenetworkfeaturesontheprojectordon’twork
    untilyoucompleteoneofthesetasks.
    Ensurethatthenetworkisenabledintheprojector'son-screendisplaymenu.
    3.Ifyoustilldon’thavenetworkaccess,contactyournetworkadministrator.Ifyour
    administratorisunabletoresolvetheissue,contactyourauthorisedSMARTreseller.
    Accessingtheservicemenu

    lTopreventtamperingorunintentionalchanges,onlysystemadministratorsshouldaccess
    theservicemenu.Donotsharetheservicemenuaccesscodewithcasualusersofyour

    Retrievingyourpassword
    Ifyouforgettheprojector’spassword,youcanretrieveitbyaccessingtheprojectorservicemenu
    directlyfromtheprojectororfromthepasswordsettingsmenuonyourprojector’swebpage(see
    Passwordsettingsonpage50yf.
    Toretrieveyourpasswordfromtheservicemenu
    1.Usingtheremotecontrol,pressthefollowingbuttonsquicklytoaccesstheservicemenu:
    Down,Up,Up,Left,Up.
    2.ScrolltoPasswordGetandthenpressEnterontheremotecontrol.
    Thepasswordappearsonthescreen.
    3.Writedownthepassword.
    4.ScrolltoExitandthenpressEnterontheremotecontroltoexittheprojectorservicemenu.
    Resettingtheprojector
    Atsomepointduringtroubleshooting,youmightneedtoresetallprojectorsettings.

    1.Usingtheremotecontrol,pressthefollowingbuttonsquicklytoaccesstheservicemenu:
    Down,Up,Up,Left,Up.
    2.ScrolltoFactoryResetandthenpressEnterontheremotecontrol.
    3.ScrolltoExitandthenpressEnterontheremotecontroltoexittheprojectorservicemenu.
    Transportingyourinteractivewhiteboard
    system
    SaveyouroriginalSMART Boardinteractivewhiteboardpackagingsothatit’savailableifyou
    needtotransportyourinteractivewhiteboardsystem.Whenrequired,repackitwithallofthe
    originalpackaging.Thispackagingwasdesignedtoprovideoptimalshockandvibration
    protection.Ifyounolongerhaveyouroriginalpackaging,purchasethesamepackagingdirectly
    fromyourauthorisedSMARTreseller.
    Ifyouprefertouseyourownpackagingmaterials,makesurethatyouadequatelyprotectyour
    unit.Makesurethattheprojectorlensandmirrorareprotectedagainstanyphysicalcontactor
    pressurewhichmaydamagetheprojector’soptics.Sendyourinteractivewhiteboardinanupright
    positiontodetercarriersfromplacingheavyobjectsonit.
