When Off is selected, PRECIP weather data will not be shown. In the figure below where 500 NM is selected, PRECIP data will be shown at map ranges of 500 NM and lower. TFRs and METARs are the only weather products shown below 10 NM. The full legend is available by pressing the LEGEND soft key. When Off is selected, IR SAT will not be shown. In the figure below where 200 NM is selected, IR SAT data will be shown at map ranges of 200 NM and lower. A strike icon represents a strike that has occurred within a two-kilometer region. The exact location of the lightning strike is not displayed. A Convective SIGMET is issued for hazardous convective weather. A localized SIGMET is a significant weather condition occurring at a localized geographical position. SIGMET/AIRMET data covers icing, turbulence, dust, and volcanic ash as issued by the National Weather Service. The update rate is every 12 minutes in the U.S. Elsewhere, updates are made as they are issued.
