Projector Maintenance Transporting theProjector Projector Maintenance Your projector needslittlemaintenance tokeep working atits best. You may need toclean thelens periodically, andclean theairfilter andairvents toprevent theprojector from overheating duetoblocked ventilation. The only parts youshould replace arethelamp, airfilter, andremote controlbatteries. Ifany other part needs replacing, contactEpsonoran authorized Epsonservicer. WARNING: Beforecleaning anypart ofthe projector, turnitoff and unplug thepower cord.Never open any cover onthe projector, exceptthelamp cover. Dangerous electricalvoltagesinthe projector can injure youseverely. WARNING: Donot trytoservice thisproduct yourself, exceptasspecifically explainedinthis manual. Projector LampSpecifications Optional Equipment andReplacement Parts Replacing theLamp Before youreplace thelamp, letthe projector cooldown foratleast onehour sothe lamp willnot behot. WARNING: Letthelamp fullycool before replacing itto avoid injury. You canreplace thelamp while theprojector ismounted tothe ceiling, ifnecessary. 1. Turn offthe projector andunplug thepower cord. 2. Allow theprojector lamptocool down foratleast onehour. 3. Use thescrewdriver includedwiththereplacement lamptoloosen thescrew securing thelamp cover. WARNING: Ifthe lamp isbroken, glassfragments maybeloose inside thelamp chamber. Becareful removing anybroken glasstoavoid injury. 137
4. Slide thelamp cover outand liftitoff. 5. Loosen thescrews securing thelamp toprojector. Thescrews donot come allthe way out. 138
6. Grasp thelamp asshown andpullitout ofthe projector. Note: Thelamp(s) inthis product containmercury. Pleaseconsult yourstate andlocal regulations regardingdisposalorrecycling. Donot putinthe trash. 139
7. Gently insertthenew lamp intotheprojector. Ifitdoes notfiteasily, makesureitis facing theright way. CAUTION: Donot touch anyglass onthe lamp assembly toavoid premature lampfailure. 140
