    Setting a Password To use password security, you must set a password.
    1. Hold down the Freezebutton on the remote control for about five seconds or until you see this
    menu.
    2. Press the down arrow to select Passwordand pressEnter.
    You see the prompt Change the password?.
    3. Select Yesand press Enter.
    4. Press and hold down the Numbutton on the remote control and use the numeric buttons to set a
    four-digit password.
    The password displays as **** as you enter it. Then you see the confirmation prompt.
    5. Enter the password again. You see the message Password accepted.
    6. Press Escto return to the menu.

    7. Make a note of the password and keep it in a safe place in case you forget it.

    Selecting Password Security Types After setting a password, you see this menu, allowing you to select the password security types you want
    to use.
    If you do not see this menu, hold down the Freezebutton on the remote control for about five seconds or
    until the menu appears.
    1. To prevent unauthorized use of the projector, select Power On Protection, pressEnter, selectOn,
    press Enter again, and press Esc.
    2. To prevent changes to the Users Logo screen or related display settings, select Users Logo
    Protection, press Enter, selectOn, pressEnteragain, and press Esc.
    3. To prevent changes to network settings, select Network Protection, pressEnter, selectOn, press
    Enter again, and press Esc.
    4. To prevent changes to the projectors time or schedule settings, select Schedule Protection, press
    Enter, select On, pressEnteragain, and press Esc.
    Note: Be sure to keep the remote control in a safe place; if you lose it, you will not be able to enter the
    password required to use the projector.

    Entering a Password to Use the Projector
    If a password is set up and a Power On Protectionpassword is enabled, you see a prompt to enter a
    password whenever you turn on the projector.
    You must enter the correct password to use the projector.
    1. Press and hold down the Numbutton on the remote control while you enter the password using the
    numeric buttons.
    Note: The default password is 0000.
    The password screen closes.
    2. If the password is incorrect, the following may happen: • You see a wrong password message and a prompt to try again. Enter the correct password toproceed.

    • If you enter an incorrect password several times in succession, the projector displays a request
    code and a message to contact Epson Support. Do not attempt to enter the password again.
    When you contact Epson Support, provide the displayed request code and proof of ownership for
    assistance in unlocking the projector.

    Saving a Users Logo Image to Display You can transfer an image to the projector and then display it whenever the projector turns on. You can
    also display the image when the projector is not receiving an input signal or when you temporarily stop
    projection (using the A/V Mute feature). This transferred image is called the Users Logo screen.
    The image you select as the Users Logo can be a photo, graphic, or company logo, which is useful in
    identifying the projectors owner to help deter theft. You can prevent changes to the Users Logo by
    setting up password protection for it.
    1. Display the image you want to project as the Users Logo.
    2. Press theMenubutton, select the Extendedmenu, and press Enter.
    3. Select the Users Logosetting and press Enter.
    You see a prompt asking if you want to use the displayed image as a users logo.
    4. Select Yesand press Enter.
    You see a selection box overlaying your image.

    5. Use the arrow buttons on the remote control or control panel to surround the image area you want to
    use as the Users Logo and press Enter.
    You see a prompt asking if you want to select this image area.
    6. Select Yesand press Enter. (If you want to change the selected area, select No, pressEnter, and
    repeat the last step.)
    You see the Users Logo zoom factor menu.
    7. Select a zoom percentage and press Enter.
    You see a prompt asking if you want to save the image as the Users Logo.
    8. Select Yesand press Enter.
    You see a completion message.
    9. Press Escto exit the message screen.
    10. Select the Extendedmenu and press Enter.
    11. Select Displayand press Enter.
    12. Select when you want to display the Users Logo screen: • To display it whenever there is no input signal, select Display Backgroundand set it toLogo.
    • To display it whenever you turn the projector on, select Startup Screenand set it toOn.
    To prevent anyone from changing the Users Logo settings without first entering a password, set a
    password and enable Users Logo security.

    Locking the Projectors Buttons
    You can lock the buttons on the projectors control panel to prevent anyone from using the projector. You
    can lock all the buttons or all the buttons except the power button.
    1. Press theMenubutton.
    2. Select the Settingsmenu and press Enter.
    3. Select Lock Setting and pressEnter.
    4. Select the Control Panel Lock setting and pressEnter.
    Note: You can also press the left arrow button on the control panel to display the Control Panel Lock
    screen.
    5. Select one of these lock types and press Enter:
    • To lock all of the projectors buttons, select Full Lock.
    • To lock all buttons except the power button, select Partial Lock.
    You see a confirmation prompt.
    6. Select Yesand press Enter.

    seven seconds to unlock them.

    Locking the Remote Control Buttons You can lock some of the buttons on the remote control.
    • To lock the remote control buttons related to lens operation, turn on the Lens Locksetting in the
    Settings menu.
    • To lock the remote control buttons shown here, press and hold the Homebutton for approximately 5
    seconds. (To unlock the buttons, press and hold the Homebutton again for approximately 5 seconds.)

    Note:
    If you lock the remote control buttons, you can still reset the Remote Receiversetting in the
    Settings menu to the default settings.

    Installing a Security Cable You can install two types of security cables on the projector to deter theft.
    • Use the security slot on the projector to attach a Kensington lock. See your local computer orelectronics dealer for purchase information.
    • Use the security cable attachment point on the projector to attach a wire cable and secure it to a room fixture or heavy furniture.
    Note: Do not pass drop-prevention cables through the security cable attachment point when mounting
    the projector on a wall or ceiling.

    Projecting Two Images Simultaneously
    You can use the split screen feature to simultaneously project two images from different image sources
    next to each other. You can control the split screen feature using the remote control or the projector
    menus.
    Note:While you use the split screen feature, other projector features may not be available and some
    settings may be automatically applied to both images.
    1. Press the Splitbutton on the remote control.
    The currently selected input source moves to the left side of the screen.
    2. Press the Menubutton.

    3. To select an input source for the other image, select the Sourcesetting, press Enter, select the
    input source, select Execute, and press Enter. (You can also change image sources, if necessary.)
    4. To switch the images, select the Swap Screenssetting and press Enter.
    5. To change the image sizes, select the Screen Sizesetting, press Enter, select a sizing option,
    press Enter, and press Menuto exit.
    Note: Depending on the video input signals, the images may not appear at the same size even if you
    choose the Equalsetting.
    6. To choose the audio you want to hear, select the Audio Sourcesetting, pressEnter, select an
    audio option, press Enter, and pressMenuto exit.
    Note: Select Autoto hear audio from the largest screen or the left screen.
    7. To exit the split screen feature, press the SplitorEsc button.
