5 Projector FeaturesEMP-1815/1810 Common Features The following introduces features common to the EMP-1815 and the EMP-1810. fQuick Setup This feature corrects distortion in the projected image by a simple one- touch operation. Images can be corrected and matched to the size of the screen to simplify preparations. fThe A/V mute slide makes it easy to project and store You can stop and resume projection easily by opening and closing the A/V mute slide which makes giving clear presentations easier. fA single foot design means you do not have to make any difficult leveling adjustments You can easily make height adjustments with one hand. sQuick Start Guide fPassword Protect to restrict and manage users By setting a password you can restrict who can use the projector. sp.34 fOperation Lock restricts button operation on the control panel You can use this to prevent people changing projector settings without permission at events, in schools, and so on. sp.37 fEquipped with various anti-theft devices The projector is equipped with the following security devices. sp.38 • Security slot Security cable installation point fDirect power On/Off In places where power is managed centrally, such as in a conference room, the projector can be set to power on and off automatically when the power source to which the projector is connected is switched on or off. fNo cool down delay You can disconnect the projectors power cable without having to wait for the projector to cool down first. fHigh powered, 1.6 times zoom lens The 1.6 times zoom allows for a wide range of installation positions to suit most room layouts, whether the projector is on a stand, a table, or ceiling mounted. Projector Features 6 EMP-1815 Features The EMP-1815 can be connected to a computer by a wired or wireless LAN connection. The situations in which this projector can be used increase as shown below if you use the PC applications supplied. fComputer and wireless connection Use a wireless LAN to connect easily to your computer in a 1:1 configuration. sWireless LAN Quick Connection Guide You can also connect to the access point. sEasyMP Operation Guide fConnect using a USB cable (USB display) Simply by connecting a cable to your computer you can project images from the computers screen. sWireless LAN Quick Connection Guide fPresentations without a computer You can record presentation data scenarios to media beforehand, and then simply start playback to make the presentation without a computer. sEasyMP Operation Guide fSlide show projection only (Presentation mode) This mode allows you to project only images of your PowerPoint slide show. When the indicator is off, this indicates that no USB devices are inserted. When the light is orange, this indicates that a USB device is inserted. When the light is red, this indicates that an error has occurred. C Lamp cover Open this cover when replacing the projectors lamp. sp.75 F D C AK I B JH G EL D Air exhaust vent AttentionDo not place objects that may become warped or otherwise affected by heat near the air exhaust vent and do not put your face or hands near the air exhaust vent while projection is in progress. E Speaker F Front adjustable feet Extend and adjust the position of the projected image when the projector is placed on a surface such as a desk. sQuick Start Guide G Foot adjust lever Pull out the foot lever to extend and retract the front foot. sQuick Start Guide H A/V mute slide Slide shut when not using the projector to protect the lens. Connects the projector to a computer by a wireless connection. sWireless LAN Quick Connection Guide B Card slot This slot is for inserting a CompactFlash card when the PC Free function in EasyMP is used. You can also write to the CompactFlash card from a computer connected to the projector via a network. sp.83 C Card slot access indicator Indicates the access status of the CompactFlash card. sp.84 D Eject button Press this button to eject the CompactFlash card. sp.83 D CB A
Part Names and Functions 9 Base Name Function A Suspension bracket fixing points (3 points) Attach the optional ceiling mount here when suspending the projector from a ceiling. sp.72, 87 B Security cable installation point Pass a commercially available anti-theft wire lock through here when you want to secure the projector to a fixed object. sp.38 C Rear foot Turn to extend and retract to adjust the horizontal tilt. sQuick Start Guide D Screw hole to fix wireless LAN unit This hole is for a screw to fix the wireless LAN unit in place. sWireless LAN Quick Connection Guide E BCD A C E Air filter (Air intake vent) This prevents dust and other foreign particles from getting inside the projector when air is drawn in. The projector displays a warning message when it is time to clean or replace the air filter. sp.73, 78 Name Function
Part Names and Functions 10 Rear Name Function A Monitor Out port Outputs the image signal from the computer connected to the Computer1 input port to an external monitor. This is not available for component video g signals or other signals being input to any port other than the Computer1 input port. Audio Out port Outputs the sound of the image currently being projected to external speakers. sp.85 B Power inlet Connects to the power cable. sQuick Start Guide C S-Video input port For S-video g signals from video sources. Video input port For composite video g signals from video sources. BJ E D F IHG A C Audio-L/R input port These connect to the audio out port of equipment that is connected to the S-Video or Video input port. sQuick Start Guide D RS-232C port When controlling the projector from a computer, connect it to the computer with an RS-232C cable. This port is for control use and should not normally be used. sp.90 E Remote receiver Receives signals from the remote control. sQuick Start Guide F Security slot (j) The security slot is compatible with the Microsaver Security System manufactured by Kensington. sp.38 G USB port (Type A) (EMP-1815 only) Connects the memory for compatible digital cameras and USBs, and projects image/movie files and scenarios with the PC Free of EasyMP. sp.82 H LAN port (EMP-1815 only) When a LAN cable is connected, you can monitor and control the projector over a LAN. sp.86 I USB port (Type B) Connects the projector to a computer by a USB cable, and the image on the computer is projected (EMP-1815 only). sWireless LAN Quick Connection Guide Use this port also to connect with a computer to use the wireless mouse function. sp.28 J Computer1 input port For video signals from a computer and component video g signals from other video sources.
