Use the 9-pin serial connector to attach a serial device to the computer\
    . The serial
connector passes data in serial format (1 bit at a time over one line)\
    . This connector
supports a variety of devices, including a serial mouse, that require se\
    rial data
transmission. If you reconfigure your hardware, you may need pin number \
    and signal
    information for the serial connector.

parallel connector is used primarily for printers. The parallel connecto\
    r transmits data
in parallel format, where 8 data bits (one byte) are sent simultaneous\
    ly over eight
    separate lines.
The parallel connector can also be configured for compatibility with the\
     PS/2 standard.
Support for the EPP feature improves network adapter performance (adapt\
    ers connect
to the computers parallel connector and require the appropriate softwar\
    e drivers from
    the adapters manufacturer).
If you reconfigure your hardware, you may need pin number and signal inf\
    ormation
    for the parallel connector.
