In Windows XP (Classic Start menu): Click StartŒ SettingsŒ Printers and Faxes.
In Windows Vista (Classic Start menu) and all other Windows versions: Click StartŒ SettingsŒ Printers.
3Double-click Add Printer.
The Add Printer Wizard opens.

5Select Local printer attached to this computer, and then click Next.

Macintosh®
Macintosh OS 9 or later is required for USB printing. In order to print to a USB printer, create a Desktop Printer icon
(Mac OS 9), or add the printer in Print Center or Printer Setup Utility (Mac OS X).

1Install support for the printer on the computer.
aInsert the Drivers and Utilities CD.
bDouble-click the installer package for the printer.
cContinue past the Welcome screen and the Read me.

5Select the printer, and then click OK.
The printer appears in the Printer (USB) window.
6In the PostScript Printer Description (PPD) File section, click Auto Setup.
Ensure that the printer PPD matches the printer model.
7Click Create.
8Click Save.
9Enter a name for the printer, and then click OK.
The printer is saved as a Desktop Printer.
Linux®

If you are using a USB connection, make sure the USB cable is connected to the computer and printer, and
then do the following:
aClick Add a local printer.
bFrom the Use an existing port: drop-down menu, select Virtual printer port for USB, and then click
Next.
4Click Have disk.

Printing

Printing a document
1Load paper into a tray or feeder.
2From the Paper menu, set the Paper Type and Paper Size based on the paper that is loaded.
