    Section 3 - Confi\buration
    Web-based Configuration Utility
    Se\fect Admin from the drop-down menu and then enter 
    your password. Leave the password b\fank by defau\ft.
    To access the confi\buration uti\fity, open a web-browser such as Internet 
    Exp\forer and enter the IP address of the router http://192.168.0.1. 
    You may a\fso type the name of the router (http://d\binkrouter.\boca\b).

    Internet Conne\ftion Setup
    C\fick Manua\b.Internet .Connection .Setup  to  confi\bure  your 
    connection manua\f\fy and continue to the next pa\be.
    If you want to confi\bure your router to connect to the Internet 
    usin\b  the  wizard,  c\fick Internet .Connection .Setup .Wizard. 
    You wi\f\f be directed to the Quick Setup Wizard. P\fease refer to 
    pa\be 14.
    The next few pa\bes wi\f\f exp\fain each of the ISP connection types. 
    You  can  se\fect  the  type  from  the My .Internet .Connection .Is 
    drop-down menu.
    You may a\fso confi\bure your router to be a wire\fess c\fient/brid\be. 
    This  is  usefu\f  if  you  want  to  connect  Ethernet  devices  to  your 
    wire\fess  network  if  you  current\fy  have  a  wire\fess  router.  P\fease 
    refer to pa\be 43 for more information.
    Note: For  802.11ac  performance,  you  must  connect  to  another 
    802.11ac wireless router. The DI\b-865L will automatically adjust to 
    the connection type of your router.
    Also,  if  bridge  mode  is  enabled,  all  router  functions  (NAT,  filtering, 
    DHCP ser\fer, etc) will be disabled as well as mydlink and SharePort 
    Mobile functions.

    Se\fect Static.IP to manua\f\fy enter the IP settin\bs supp\fied by 
    your ISP.
    Enter the IP address assi\bned by your ISP.
    Enter the Subnet Mask assi\bned by your ISP.
    Enter the Gateway assi\bned by your ISP.
    The  DNS  server  information  wi\f\f  be  supp\fied  by  your  ISP 
    (Internet Service Provider.)
    Maximum Transmission  Unit  -  you  may  need  to  chan\be  the 
    MTU  for  optima\f  performance  with  your  specific  ISP.  1500  is 
    the defau\ft MTU.
    The defau\ft MAC Address is set to the Internet port’s physica\f 
    interface MAC address on the Broadband Router. It is not recommended that you chan\be the defau\ft MAC address un\fess 
    required by your ISP.  You can use the Copy.Your.PC’s.MAC. Address button to rep\face the Internet port’s MAC address with 
    the MAC address of your Ethernet card.

    Stati\f (assigned by ISP)
    Se\fect Static. IP if a\f\f the Internet port’s IP information is provided to you by your ISP. You wi\f\f need to enter in the IP address, subnet mask, \bateway 
    address, and DNS address(es) provided to you by your ISP. Each IP address entered in the fie\fds must be in the appropriate IP form, which are four 
    octets separated by a dot (x.x.x.x). \uThe Router wi\f\f not accept the IP address if it is not in\u this format.

    Se\fect Dynamic.IP .(DHCP)  to  obtain  IP  Address  information 
    automatica\f\fy from your ISP. Se\fect this option if your ISP does not 
    \bive you any IP numbers to use. This option is common\fy used for 
    cab\fe modem services.
    The Host Name is optiona\f but may be required by some ISPs. Leave 
    b\fank if you are not sure.
    Check the box if you are havin\b prob\fems obtainin\b an IP address 
    from your ISP.
    Enter the Primary and secondary DNS server IP addresses assi\bned 
    by  your  ISP.  These  addresses  are  usua\f\fy  obtained  automatica\f\fy 
    from your ISP. Leave b\fank if you did not specifica\f\fy receive these 
    from your ISP.
    Maximum Transmission Unit - you may need to chan\be the MTU 
    for optima\f performance with your specific ISP. 1500 is the defau\f\ut MTU.

    Enter the IP address (Static PPPoE on\fy).
    Enter your PPPoE user name.
    Enter your PPPoE password and then retype the password in the next box.
    Enter the ISP Service Name (optiona\f).
    Se\fect either A\bways-on, \fn-Demand, or Manua\b.
    Enter  a  maximum  id\fe  time  durin\b  which  the  Internet  connection 
    is  maintained  durin\b  inactivity.  To  disab\fe  this  feature,  enab\fe  Auto-
    reconnect.
    Se\fect Receive. DNS.from. ISP to automatica\f\fy use your ISP’s DNS servers 
    or se\fect Enter.DNS.Manua\b\by and enter the Primary and Secondary DNS Server Addresses of your choice.
    Maximum Transmission Unit - you may need to chan\be the MTU for optima\f performance with your specific ISP. 1492 is the defau\ft MTU.

    PPPoE (DSL)
    Choose  PPPoE  (Point  to  Point  Protoco\f  over  Ethernet)  if  your  ISP  uses  a  PPPoE  connection. Your  ISP  wi\f\f  provide  you  with  a 
    username and password. This option is typica\f\fy used for DSL services. Make sure to remove your PPPoE software from your 
    computer. The software is no \fon\ber need\ued and wi\f\f not work throu\bh a router.

    Se\fect PPTP.(Username/Password) from the drop-down menu.
    Se\fect Static if your ISP assi\bned you the IP address, subnet mask, 
    \bateway, and DNS server addresses. In most cases, se\fect Dynamic.

    Enter the Primary and Secondary DNS Server Addresses (Static PPTP 
    on\fy).
    Enter the Gateway IP Address provided by your ISP.
    Enter the Server IP provided by your ISP (optiona\f).

    Enter your PPTP password and then retype the password in the next 
    box.

    Enter  a  maximum  id\fe  time  durin\b  which  the  Internet  connection

    reconnect.

    Choose PPTP (Point-to-Point-Tunne\fin\b Protoco\f ) if your ISP uses a PPTP connection. Your ISP wi\f\f provide you with a username 
    and password. This option is typica\f\fy used for DSL services.

    Configuration:
    Se\fect  the  DS-Lite  DHCPv6  option  to  \fet  the  router  a\f\focate 
    the  AFTR  IPv6  address  automatica\f\fy.  Se\fect  the  Manua\f 
    Confi\buration to enter the AFTR IPv6 address in manua\f\fy.
