LIMITED WARRANTY Comdial Corporation (Comdial) warrants that under nmmal operating conditions, this Equipnxnt (except for fuses, lamps. and other consumables) will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of twenty-four (24) months from themanufacturing date stamped on the Equipment. Corndial’s sole obligation under this warranty or under any other legal obligation with respect to theEquipment is to repair or replace. at its option, the Equipment if it is deemed defective by Comdial dutig the warranty period free of charge with new or refurbished equipment or parts, at Corndial’s option, when the Equipment is returned to Comdial, freight 01 postage prepaid. during the warranty paiod. This warranty does not apply if, in the sole judgement of Corndial, the E$dpment has been installed 01 used in ccmbiiation 02 in assembly with products not supplied by Comdial and which anz not compatible or inferior quality, design or performance. “I the Equipment has bea othewix mimscd, abused, accidentally damaged, or damaged or malftmctions or fails to function as a result of acts of God such 11s fire, flood, or lightning or other incidence of excessive or insuffknt voltage or failure to follow instructions. Repair or alteration of this Equipnat other than as sptxif~cally authorized by Comdial or its authorized repair agent is prohibited and will void this warranty. This warranty does not cover costs associated with installation. removal, or reinstallation of the Equipment. Comdial does not waFant that the Equipment is compatible with all telephone or switching systems. THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE, BEING IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, Bm NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILZI’Y OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WITHOUT EXPANDING UPON THE FOREGOING WARRANTY. THE MAXIMUM LIABILITY OF COMDIAL UNDER ANY WARRANTY, STATUTORY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IS LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE EQUIPMENT. THE BASICS v PLACING A CALL n Lift handset. n Listen for dial tone. w Dial line group access code. 9 = group 1 82 = group 2 83 = group 3 84 = group 4 n Listen for dial tone. n Dial number. I Hang up handset to end call. v ANSWERING A CALL n Lift handset. v PLACING A CALL ON HOLD Manual hold (any station can retrieve held call), w Press HOLD. To refurn to call on hold, I Lift handset. n Dial *. Exclusive hold (Only your station can retrieve held call), w Press HOLD twice. NOTE: Hold recall- After a preprogrammed length of time, a call placed on hold will automatically ring at the station which placed it on hold. For calls on exclusive hold, the call will revert to manual hold after the initial period. 1
v PLACING INTERCOM CALLS n Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Dial station number. v ANSWERING INTERCOM CALLS n Lift handset. v TRANSFERRING OUTSIDE CALLS Unscreened transfer, n Answer outside call. n Press HOLD. (Call is placed on hold). n Press and release hookswitch or press TAP if provided. w Dial station number, n Hang up handset. (Call begins ringing at called station, Call will re-ring at original station if not answered within a preprogrammed time). If busy or no answer, n Dial % . Return to outside call. Screened Transfer H Answer outside call. n Press HOLD. (Call is placed on hold). n Press and release hookswitch or press TAP if provided. n Dial station number, n Upon answer, announce the call. n Hang up the handset. (Call is transferred). If busy or no answer, n Dial +K , Return to outside call. Three-Way Conference w When party answers, announce conference and dial G+ (Three-way conference is established). 2

Press TAP (if provided) to store a flash. n Hang up. n Repeat procedure for each speed dial number. To dial number w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Dial trunk access code. Listen for dial tone. n Press SHIFT. n Press desired dial key 1-O. Call will redial automatically. v SYSTEM SPEED DIALING To dial preprogrammed numbers w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Dial trunk access code. Listen for dial tone. n Press SHIFT +k . n Dial desired code (10-59). 3
7 AREA PAGING (requires external paging unit) n Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. w Dial code. n Make announcement. v ALL-CALL AND ZONE PAGING To page, w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. w Dial zone number - (53.52, 51, or 50 for all-call). n Make announcement. Hang up handset or wait on line for an answer. To answer from any station, n Lift handset. n Dial 44. Meet paging party on line. v PULSE/TONE SWITCHING If your telephone service is pulse (rotary) and you must con- vert to tone while dialing, w Press # (System will switch back to pulse dialing when call is terminated). NOTE: Pulse/Tone switching can be programmed into a speed dial number if desired. V MESSAGE WAITING (The MW-message waiting-lighf is confrolled only by designafed stafions or one cenfral message desk) To receive messages, w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Press HOLD. Connection to message desk is automatic. 4
. v CALL PICKUP To answer Q call that you hear ringing at another stufion, n Lift handset. w Dial 49. I Dial number of ringing station. v CALL FORWARD To forwurd your culls to another station, w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Dial 54. w Dial number of station to which calls are to be forwarded. To cancel cull forward, w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. w Dial 55. NOTE: For each call received during call forward, a ring reminder (short tone burst) will be heard. v AUTOMATIC CALL-BACK To arrange for the system to cull buck when u busy sfution becomes idle, w Make intercom call. Hear busy signal. fl Dial 88. n Hang up (Calling station will ring. Call-back is cancelled if handset is not lifted). To answer cull-buck ring, n Lift handset (Called station will ring. Call-back is cancelled if handset is not lifted). To cancel uufomutic cull buck, w Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Dial 87. n Hang up. 5
v CALL MESSAGING (Calling station must be programmed for DSS/BLF af called station), To leave a call message signal, n Make intercom call. Hear busy signal or ring-back tone. n Dial 86 (BLF light at called station will flutter). n Hang up. To cancel a call message signal n Lift handset. n Dial 43. I Dial number of station to which the call message was sent. v LINE QUEUING To queue for a busy outside line, n Lift handset. Listen for dial tone. n Dial trunk group access code (9, 82,83, or 84). n Dial 88. n Hang up. To answer line queuing ring-back, n Lift handset. Hear dial tone. To cancel queuing, n Lift handset. Hear dial tone. n Dial 87. n Hang up. v EXECUTIVE OVERRIDE (Only available at cerfain stafions) To break info conversation at anofher sfafion, w Make intercom call. Hear busy tone. n Dial 77 (Warning tone sounded at called stations). n Join in-progress call. A three-way conference now exists. Any one of the parties can leave the conference without dropping the connection to the other two. 6
