OPERATIONALINFORMATION Five-minuteCompressorTimeguard Thistimerpreventsthecompressorfromstartingunlessithasbeenoffforatleast5minutes.ItcanbedefeatedforIcyclebysimultaneously pressingtheFANmodebuttonandtheINCREASETEMPERATUREbutton. Fifteen-minuteCycleTimer Thistimerpreventsthestartofaheatingorcoolingcycleuntilatleast15minutesafterthelaststartofthesamecycle.Itsfunctionistoassure thatequipmentisnotcycledmorethan4timesperhr,Thistimerisdefeatedfor1cyclewhenthedesiredtemperatureismanuallychanged. ItcanalsobedefeatedforIcyclebysimultaneouslypressingtheFANmodebuttonandtheINCREASETEMPERATUREbutton. Fifteen-minuteStagingTimer Inmultistageheatingorcooling,thistimerpreventsanyhigherstagefromturningonuntiltheprecedingstagehasbeenonfor15minutes. Thistimerisdefeatedifthetemperatureerrorisgreaterthan5°F(usuallyduetoalargechangeindesiredtemperature). Three-minuteMinimumOnTime Innormaloperation,whenastageturnson,itwillnottamoffforaminimumof3minutes. Heat/CoolSetPoints(DesiredTemperatures) Aminimumdifferenceof2°Fisenforcedbetweenheatingandcoolingsetpoints.Thisisdonebyallowingonesettingtopushtheother,to maintainthisdifference. AutoChangeover Whentheautochangeovermodeisselected,achangefromheattocool(orviceversa)willnotoccuruntilanoppositemodedemandhasexisted for20minutes.Ifthesetpointischanged,the20minuterequirementisdeleted.Automodemaybedisabled. EmergencyHeatMode Whenthermostatisconfiguredasaheatpumpandemergencyheatmodeisselected,allYsignalsarelockedoutandWbecomesenergized uponacallforheat. HeatOnandCootOnIcons Whenaheatingorcoolingdemandexists,theHEATONorCOOLONiconwilleitherremainonorflash.Ifflashing,theequipmentis temporarilypreventedfromturningonbyoneofthetimers(seeabove).Whiletheiconremainsonwithoutflashing,theequipmentison. PowerOnCheck WhenACpowerisfirstapplied,allsegmentsofthedisplayareturnedonforafewsec.Followingthis,thetemperaturedisplayindicatesthe model/configurationviathefollowing2digitcode: AC--l-speedairconditioner,HP--l-speedheatpump,A2--2-speedairconditioner,H2--2-speedheatpump. ErrorCodes ----Ifthethermostatcannotproperlyreadroomtemperature,thedisplaywillindicate--(2dashes)andalloutputs(exceptthefanifon)will turnoff.Thisistopreventoperationoftheequipmentifthethermostathasfailed. E2--IftheAClinevoltagedropsbelowaminimum(brownout)level,alloutputsareturnedoffandthedisplayindicatesE2.Thiscondition willremainfor15secafterproperlinevoltageisrestored.IftheAClinevoltagedisappearscompletely,thedisplaywillimmediatelygoblank. E3--Ifthethermostatcannotproperlyreadoutdoortemperature,anditisneededforproperoperation(HeatpumpsystemandOption8is notsettoOF),E3willflashalternatelywithroomtemperature, -*ThermostatTroubleshooting SYMPTOMWHATTOCHECK BlankLeDCheckfor24vacbetweenRandCatterminalconnections.BothRandCmustbecon- nettedforproperoperation. Temperatruesensorreadingoutofrange.Checksensorfordamage.Ifrecyclingpower -(2dashes)ontemperaturedisplaydoesnotcleardisplay,thermostatshouldbereplaced. SelectCOOLmode.Setdesiredtemperaturetot0°Fbelowroomtemperature.Simulta- CoolingwillnotcomeonneouslypressFANandINCREASETEMPERATUREbuttonstodefeattimers.Checkfor COOLONiconand24vacatY(first-stage)terminal.Ifpresent,thermostatisOKand problemiswithequipmentorwiring.Ifnotpresent,replacethermostat.
