INTRODUCTION Carrierthermostatsarewall-mounted,low-voltagethermostats whichmaintainroomtemperaturebycontrollingtheoperationof aheatingandairconditioningsystem.Separateheatingand coolingsetpoints,plusautochangeoverprovidemaximumcomfort andflexibility.Batteriesarenotrequired;temperatureandmode settingsarepreservedwiththepoweroff. INSTALLATIONCONSIDERATIONS Power Notethatallthermostatmodelsrequirenobatteriesandarenot powerstealing.Theydorequire24vat(bothRandCterminals) tobeconnectedforproperoperation.Thermostatwillnotoperate withoutthese2connections. Models Thereare3differentmodels.The9thand10thlettersofthepart numberindicatethemodel.These2lettersalsoappearonthe packageandonthecircuitboard.Besuretohavetheproper thermostatfortheintendedapplication.Modelsare: AC--l-stagecool,l-stageheatforACsystemsonly. HP--I-stagecool,2-stageheatforeitherHP,orACwith2-stage heat. 2S--2-stagecool,2-stageheatfor2-speedACsystems,or 2-stagecool,3-stageheatfor2-speedHPsystems. Useeachonlyforitsintendedpurpose.SeeTable1. INSTALLATION Step1--ThermostatLocation Thermostatshouldbemounted: Approximately5ft(1.5m)fromfloor. Closetoorinafrequentlyusedroom,preferablyonaninside partitioningwall.
